<p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;]
<p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;]Last round's player in focus, Gundagai's Lachie Neale was best afield in Round 8 to take his tally to 23 votes and reduce Waikikamoocow superstar Nat Fyfe's lead to three votes. Fyfe continued his great form to poll four votes in round 8 and maintain his sequence of polling Les W Medal votes in every round this season. Fyfe's partner in crime in the Cow's midfield Daniel Hannebery was best afield, as was David Mundy from the Powlett Plains Packers, the duo are in equal third position on 21 votes, five (or should that be Fyfe) votes behind Nat Fyfe. The Fremantle Football club from the AFL must be very proud to have three players recruited from their club in first, second and equal third position on the ORFFA Les W Medal leader board, being Fyfe, Neale and Mundy respectively. Wagga Wagga Wombats midfielder Dylan Shiel polled three votes in Round 8 to increase his tally to 19 votes, moving back into the top five for the first time since Round 5. <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;] <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;]Powlett Plains Packer Mundy polled votes for the sixth time this season and had his second best afield performance in the Round 8 victory against the Birdsville Battlers with a brilliant all-round performance, having 14 kicks, 13 handballs, 10 contested possessions, eight marks, five inside 50's, five clearances, kicked two goals and had a disposal efficiency of 74.4%. After Round 8 Mundy is averaging a career best 119 points per game, surpassing the 107 points per game that he averaged in 2011.

Les W. Medal Leaderboard after Round 9 - Top 27

<p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;]Overall leader Nat Fyfe extended his sequence to nine consecutive vote getting games in 2015, with the Waikikamoocow midfielder receiving four votes in Round 9 to increase his tally to 30 votes and extend his lead in the Les W Medal to seven votes over Gundagai midfielder Lachie Neale and Iron Knob forward/midfielder Robbie Gray in equal second position. Three midfielders whose first names starts with D are in equal fourth place on 21 votes, David Armitage from Darraweit Guim, Powlett Plain's David Mundy and Fyfe's Waikikamoocow team-mate Daniel Hannebery. <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;] <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;]Robbie Gray is one of one only two players to poll votes in the Les W Medal in all six games from Round 4 to Round 9 along with Fyfe, scoring 136 points to be best afield in Iron Knob's narrow round 9 victory against Larrikin Lagoon. Using his dual-position status to full effect and roaming around the midfield and forward line Gray starred with 14 kicks, 12 handballs, six tackles, six inside 50s, 11 contested possessions, eight clearances, a goal and three goal assists whilst operating with a disposal efficiency of 73.1%. Underlining his value as a dual-position player Gray with 23 Les M Medal votes after Round 9 is nine votes ahead of the next forward, Whitsunday key forward Josh J Kennedy.

Les W. Medal Leaderboard after Round 10 - Top 25

<p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;]The vote getting sequence for Waikikamoocow midfielder ended at nine games for Nat Fyfe, however by no means did he have a quiet game in the Cows big win over the Devils, he scored 116 points which is usually enough to get in the Les W Medal votes, however he was relegated to sixth best player on the ground with five of his team-mates surpassing his score including Dan Hannebery who scored 126 points to get the one vote. Fyfe's lead remains at seven votes as it was a quiet round for last weeks top six, with only vote scored between them to Hannebery. Lachie Neale and Robbie Gray remain in equal second on 23 votes, followed by Hannebery in fourth position on 22 votes. Three players are in equal fifth on 21 votes, David Armitage, David Mundy and Larrikin Lagoon ruckman Todd Goldstein who has polled a total of nine votes in his past two games. <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;] <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;]Given his recent dominant form and a best afield performance in Round 10 Todd Goldstein was an easy choice to be this week's player in focus, scoring 128 points in the Lefties comfortable win over the Grasshoppers, having six kicks, four handballs, six tackles, kicked a goal and had 47 hit-outs. Goldstein is averaging 111 points per game over the first 10 rounds of 2015, just below his career-best of 114 points per game in 2013. If Goldstein can continue his strong from after the mid-season break he might be able to go from outside the top 15 after Round 8 to Les W Medallist.

Grav has done the votes for Round 12 to Round 15 and updated the spreadsheet for the leaderboard. I will probably stagger it, posting one round per day and add the commentary below the leaderboard. If a coach wants to implement coaches choice for a tie-breaker just make a post at the bottom of the thread stating this. Thanks Grav for significantly speeding up the process. <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;][span style='color: black; padding: 0cm; border: 1pt none windowtext;]Round 12 09.07 - 12.07 Chelsea Roffey Appreciation <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;][span style='color: black; padding: 0cm; border: 1pt none windowtext;]Waikikamoocow can once again host Chelsea as they will host Whitsunday in NZ for this round. <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;] <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;]Mt Beauty Uglies 1322 def Birdsville Battlers 1235 <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;] <p style='margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-color: white;][span style='color: #222222;]5 Max GAWN MBU 150 <p style='margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-color: white;][span style='color: #222222;]4 Tom MCDONALD BIB 141 <p style='margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-color: white;][span style='color: #222222;]3 Adam Treloar BIB 123 <p style='margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-color: white;][span style='color: #222222;]2 Steele Sidebottom MBU 122 <p style='margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-color: white;][span style='color: #222222;]1 Ben McEvoy BIB 117 <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;] <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;] <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;]Gundagai Grasshoppers 1065 lost to Iron Knob Codpieces 1528 <p style='margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-color: white;][span style='color: #222222;] <p style='margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-color: white;][span style='color: #222222;]5 Luke Hodge IKC 165 <p style='margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-color: white;][span style='color: #222222;]4 Jackson Macrae IKC 154 <p style='margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-color: white;][span style='color: #222222;]3 Gary Ablett IKC 153 <p style='margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-color: white;][span style='color: #222222;]2 Taylor Adams GGH 143 <p style='margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-color: white;][span style='color: #222222;]1 Dane Swan IKC 130 ! <p style='margin-bottom: 0.0001pt; background-color: white;][span style='color: #222222;]0 Pearce Hanley IKC 130 !

] <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;]Only two players in the overall top seven after Round 11 polled votes in Round 12, Daniel Hannebery and Todd Goldstein, however the duo were both best afield to move to outright second and third respectively. Long-term leader Nat Fyfe's lead in the Les W Medal has been cut to three votes to Hannebery, with Goldstein in third position on 26 votes and Dangerfield in fourth position on 24 votes both displaying red hot form in recent weeks with Goldstein having polled 14 votes from his past three games and Foul Bay's Dangerfield amassing 17 votes from his last four games. The duo who were equal second after Round 11, Lachie Neale and Robbie Gray have slipped back to equal fifth. <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;] <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt; background-color: white;]Patrick Dangerfield dominated against Marble Bar, scoring 156 points to easily be best afield, 21% ahead of the second ranked played on the ground. Dangerfield ran riot for Foul Bay in the midfield, having 18 kicks, 18 handballs, 21 contested possessions, an ORFFA-high 12 clearances, eight tackles, six marks, five inside 50s and a goal assist, despite 57% of his possessions being contested ‘Danger' still used the ball well to have a disposal efficiency of 72.2%. Highlighting how damaging Dangerfield has been in his four games from Round 8 to Round 12, his 17 votes from this period would have him in equal 15th place on the overall leaderboard for the entire season to date.

Les W. Medal Leaderboard after Round 13 - Top 30

[IMG] <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;]For the first time since Round 6 someone other than Waikikamoocow midfielder Nat Fyfe leads the 2015 Les W Medal. With his third consecutive best afield performance Larrikin Lagoon ruckman Todd Goldstein increased his tally to 31 votes to move one vote ahead of Fyfe who went voteless for the third game in a row. Fyfe's team-mate Dan Hannebery is in third position on 27 votes, followed by Foul Bay midfielder Patrick Dangerfield who polled two votes in Round 13 to move to 26 votes. David Mundy and Robbie Gray are in equal fifth position on 25 votes with Powlett Plains packer midfielder Mundy polling four votes in Round 13 and Iron Knob midfielder/ forward Gray receiving two votes this round. <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;] <p style='margin: 0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;]Everyone in the top five on the leaderboard (in fact the top seven to be precise) has been a player in focus this season. The highest ranked player that hasn't been a PIF is 2014 Les W Medallist Callan Ward who is in eighth position on 22 votes, nine votes behind the leader, Goldstein. Marble Bar Misfit midfielder Ward has polled a total of 11 votes from his past three games comprised of a best afield performance in Round 10 and three votes in both Round 12 and Round 13. In Round 8 in the post -game press conference when asked about his star players performance in 2015 the Misfits coach said Ward was 500-1 to go back to back in the Les W Medal award” which appears to have lead to a lift in the inside midfielders performance. From Round 10 onwards Ward ranks only behind Goldtsein for votes polled, 15 to 11. Captain Ward played a key role in Marble Bar's gallant two point loss to Cradle Mountain in Round 13 with the Misfits scoring 1,295 points to set a new club record for points cored in a game. Ward had 17 kicks, 13 handballs, 15 contested possessions, nine clearances, eight marks, five tackles, four inside 50s and kicked two goals against the Devils.

Unfortunately Captain Awesome had a quiet patch after that ruining his medal chances.. Given the way Hannebery's form tapered a Fyfe/Goldy quinella would be at almost unbackable odds I think

A difficult task for Fyfe to accumulate points in the Les W when Hannebery and Jacobs were also on form. Lately, Robinson Na T Mitchell have scored very big. I will continue to maintain the format favours a player who is many levels above his ORFFA team mates. For Nat to win with two mates in the top 20 would be stunning.

I will continue to maintain the format favours a player who is many levels above his ORFFA team mates. For Nat to win with two mates in the top 20 would be stunning. You have got a valid point Graeme and several times in the past decade this has occurred in the Brownlow Medal with a star player that has stood out head and shoulders above his team-mates winning the Brownlow, including the last three winners: - Matt Priddis winning the Brownlow Medal with 26 votes in 2014, his highest ranked team-mate Josh Kennedy was 15 votes behind with 11 votes. Only two of Priddis' team-mates polled more than seven votes. - Gary Ablett]winning the Brownlow Medal with 28 votes in 2013, his highest ranked team-mate Dion Prestia was 19 votes behind with nine votes. Only two of ]Ablett'steam-mates polled more than four votes. ]- Jobe Watson]winning the Brownlow Medal with 30 votes in 2012, his highest ranked team-mate Brent Stanton was 16 votes behind with 14 votes to be the only one of Watson'steam-mates to poll more than four votes. ]
]If this pattern was to continue for a fourth season in a row you would probably pick Todd Golstein to win the 2015 Brownlow Medal as he has been the clear stand-out at North Melbourne, however he will face stiffer competition for votes from his team-mates than Priddis, Ablett and Watson did in their Brownlow Medal winning seasons mentioned above. ]
]However there are also instances of players winning the Brownlow Medal and having a team-mate finish in the top five, such as: ]
]- Dane Swan winning the Brownlow Medal in 2011 with 34 votes, 10 votes ahead of team-mate Scott Pendlebury who finished equal third of the eligible players. ]- Jimmy Bartel]winning the Brownlow Medal in 2007 with 29 votes, nine votes ahead of team-mate Gary Ablett who finished equal fifth of the eligible players. ]]-Ben Cousins ]winning the Brownlow Medal in 2005 with 20 votes, one vote ahead of team-mate Daniel Kerr who finished outright second.]
[span style='font-size: 14px; background-color: #ffffff;]Whilst a star player [span style='font-size: 14px; background-color: #ffffff;]'[span style='font-size: 14px; background-color: #f1f1f1;]who is many levels above his ORFFA team mates'[span style='font-size: 14px; background-color: #ffffff;]may have a slight advantage of winning the Les W Medal he still has to out-perform opposition players to get votes meaning that a player will have to have an exceptional season regardless of the quality of his team-mates in order to win the Les W Medal.

No Spelunkers listed! After Round 14 the top rankedSpelunker is Stephen Hill with 14 votes, three votes shy of the leader-board. The battle to lead Charlies Opening for Les W Medal votes polled in 2015 is very tight with Hill closely followed by Bontempelli (13), Hooker (12), Gunston (12) and Blicavs (12).
