I suspect this isn't going to draw even 1/16th of the interest of Fyfe/Ryder, but the Smugglers are putting up some young qualityDefenders for auction Jake Lever - First round draft pick (#14), one of the few backmen in thisdraft to be rated elite by CD. Has already shown glimpses of what he's capable of with 95 on debut. Could form the backbone of your defence for many, many years. Jimmy Webster - Starting to warm into his career after a couple of injury set-backs. Will be a quality D2 or D3 in the coming years. After, in order: mids > PSD picks > MSD picks. Packages involving CIFC's MSD and PSD picks considered. Auction to run until 11pm (EST) Thursday 18 June. I'll offer my first round MSD selection (16) for Lever, may not cut it but I'll give it a go.

At the risk of thumbing my nose at the already angered injury gods, here's one for you all to consider; as a package I'm going to offer up Paddy Ryder & Nathan Fyfe. Combined they're averaging 217.5ppg and I'd be looking for a similar positioned duo scoring similar points. The auction will close Sturday the 20th of June at 10pm WST (midnight AEST). Go your hardest!!! Korumburra bid Mark Blicavs and Steve Johnson

Ryder/Fyfe update... Blanchetown - Really need a ruck mate, could be tempted by a Jacobs + Gray/Pendlebury combo Banchang - Sorry mate, no ruck offered and not really interested in the canadian Coolgardie - With 2 big time rucks on your list you could tempt me with a Mummy + Wines/Ebert/Jaeger combo Staghorn - As per Banchang witheven less love for Big Boy McEvoy Granted you guys probably won't want to part withmy suggestions, but hey, you don't get the highest scoring player in the game for an old vegemite sandwich ;) Plenty of time to go, auction closes Saturday night! I'm going to presume you don't want Mummy so much anymore... Don't worry, I was never going to part with him anyway!

MSD strategy now officially changed... Its for reasons like this that I like to have two big-time rucks in my side.

After reviewing the offers for Ryder/Fyfe I'm of the opinion that my reserve hasnot been met. There's been some decent efforts but they lack in one of the 2 positions. Auction closes tomorrow at 2pm AEST.

After some bids got close for Mr Lever, nothing quite met reserve. Therefore he'll remain a Smuggler for the time being (pending any 11th hour acceptable trade offers).

Ok, Fyfe/Ryder auction is closed without any bids meeting the reserve. Don't want to sound like a prick but a little disappointed with some of the offers! I was offered up players that have been delisted, players that are spuds and combinations that do not come within 50 points of my duo. I know that I have probably paid overs for players, I've seen them as win/win as I'm getting someone I want and the other club wins as well, but surely to get the highest scoring player in the comp at just 23 years of age and a guy who's down on form but still averaging 85 you'd think I would be offered something comparable. In saying this I can't say I'm disappointed to be seeing Fyfe & Ryder line up for the Sandgropers, good times ahead!
