With pick 8 the Cradle Mountain Devils select Jordan Roughead (D) from AFL club the Western Bulldogs. Welcome to the Devils Jordan, after your impressive practice match for the Bulldogs last night you commented that you weren't sure if defense or ruck was your best position. Hopefully the SC gods look after us and designate you both positions for 2016 which would allow us to both be placed to answer the question of what your best position is in 12 months time. Great pick. IMO was the best player available in the draft (just ahead of Stanley). Agreed, great pick. Thanks Chief andPhilosoraptor, I had a shortlist of six players for pick eight with Stanley and Roughead both being in my top 3 (along with Bruce) so when Jordan was still available it was an easy decision to pick him. Only the sixth player on my shortlist is still available now. We must have the same shortlist haha!

Not much interest in the majority of the guys available! But do like Jack Sinclair from the Saints think he has had an OK rookie year to date. #11 Jack Sinclair

Sinclair's a good un - will likely be a forward next year too.

    Jordan Roughead goes well too.

Deviating from my plans a touch because I missed this guy in the PSD and will nab him here.

Pick 12 - Martin Gleeson - Ess Mid.

Some nice pickups, happy I got the two I targeted also. Given the current time in the land of the long white cloud I think we are done for tonight.

Pick 12 - Martin Gleeson - Ess Mid. Good pick Chris, I really liked the guy but because I an so down on Hird (and the Dons) I de-listed him. Martin seemed to be stuffed around by Hird and kept getting green vested. Can play and I think my lack of patience and negative attitude may be to your advantage. Round 12 changed the way I viewed this draft. Two of my youngsters showed so much (Nick Graham and Toby McLean) that instead of looking for current points scorers I am happy to look more to the future. My pick at 13 might not turn out to be as good as Gleeson but I reckon he goes OK (he did yesterday anyway) and is part of a club that is moving forward. The Incorrigibles welcome to the club a Dees midfielder -Alex Neal-Bullen.

GWS Im very surprised that this guy has not been picked yet. I had him in my top 5 that I didn't expect to last to me. He's in a crowded fwd line at GWS, but he's a super talent, and is just 21.

He was in my top couple in the draft Ant - in fact, in my top 16!!!!

Well done mate - a great pick and huge potential.

Might have to give me a few minutes - just got into work and have a few things to do before consulting the list.

You've shown plenty of patience with Nick Graham, so perhaps he'll be the one to repay the faith rather than Martin.

Another factor is that Martin has been made a Def/Mid in AFL Fantasy, which often times points to what may happen in SC next year. At least that's the hope (especially given McGlynn is now a fwd again in AFL fantasy too - would like that to carry through to 2016)

I'm like you Graeme - I'm picking for the future at the moment - whatever happens this year is a bonus, but hopefully 2016 - with another year under the belt of the youngsters - is better.

I just love drafts - the way everyone is bullish (see the club crest) about the players they have selected before we settle back into the drudgery of injuries, green and red vests, bad selection decisions both in the afl and ORFFA and poor performances by both old and new players. The recurrent question 'did I really draft that guy' will be with us soon enough. That feeling of hope will not be back with us until far off early 2016, so breath in and enjoy it right now.

After some debate between the many voices in my head, we've decided to go with an experienced defender given all my defenders are kids (bar super sub(?) Walker) ....

Pick 16 - a quality player - Sam Butler, West Coast.

Am also now wishing I did delist an extra player .....

Bugger. He was the one that I wanted Chris. Not to worry, can't win the flag so I am going to give this bloke 11 weeks to have a trial run and see what he can do for me. Lets hope the Power do the same. Pick 17 - Sam Colquhoun (Port Adelaide)

Bugger, he was the one I was going to look at at 18!!

That is really funny. Don't reckon you lose anything picking up Sam C - only reason I didn't get him at 16 was because I needed an older guy in defence given all my kids up there.

Give me a second - have to figure out pick 18 now!

Guy is a steal, would have gone at pick 4 if he didn't have orange socks, can only have so many orange socks in one team..

Pick 18 - after a lot of thought and decisions between about a half dozen players -

    Shaun Edwards - Essington.

Is a defender this year, likely to be a forward next year. Hopefully the Bombers play the kids .... though I'm stumped as to where their season is going.

I've done my four picks - however, again, I'm willing to trade into one more MSD pick if anyone is interested.

Send me a PM if you have interest in a player of mine that might be worth a punt in comparison to a late late MSD pick. I've already put Clem Smith on the trade block ... there might be a couple of others as well.

Ask and ye shall find out I guess.
