My calculations have Southern Cross pinching the match 15/1186/79 to Hughenden's 15/1183/79. Three measley points separated the teams in what was satisfying revenge for the Sandgropers after their loss in Veto Cup 1. Might need a recount here I came up with 1197 to 1197.... Might need an independent party ;) My original post is definitely wrong, looks like some of the Saturday scores changed overnight, however you add it up there wasn't much between the two teams, score check to come. I got Sandgropers with 1,193 to Prairie Dogs 1,197. can someone else confirm, cheers I've added all again (and after what appears to be some changes to the Saturday night scores) I get the same as you YAD, thanks for the confirmation. Well done PDogs, good luck in the next round. An outstanding Losers final, both teams couldn't decide who wanted the loss more. Whilst the loss was originally awarded to the P Dogs the recount has seen a narrow loss for the Sandgropers. The P Dogs have scraped through with a shot to become the Biggest Loser!

i was going to wait for JPK to post as he's the home team but seeing as everyone else has is posting their scores, I think the Barcrawlers finished on top of the Prospectors 1243-1161. subject to confirmation. I demanded a recount, but no-matter how many ways I try to twist the maths, Banchang still win... Yep, confirmed, 1243 to 1161. Congrats Chops.

A lot easier to win when your opposition is one man down and you only scrape in by 82. Would have been a lot closer if Wright played I'm sure.

Thank you for confirmation. The P Dogs will advance for their shot at the Loser Cup. Never short of controversy when we put the Sandgropers and Hughenden together.

My emergency M Jones didn't play either, while my def emergency, J Macmillan only scored 68 points. Wright has not scored above 80 points this season. That all adds up to a Banchang win no-matter what.

I'm definitely happy to get the win JPK, but this Round was the first round since RD10, that I haven't had a player subbed in or subbed out or having to play one OOP so unfortunately the Prospectors got me on a good day when I had 15 start and the same 15 finish . I also had my 4 emergencies score 67,68,71 and 77, which is unheard of in our short history. Onto next week.......

<p dir='LTR]1st week finals - Christmas Island 1477 defeated Nuytsland 1317 <p dir='LTR] <p dir='LTR]After playing out one of the games of the season in round 18 the Christmas Island faithful were excited to host the boys from Nuytsland in the first week of the loser finals. <p dir='LTR] <p dir='LTR]Unfortunately, team sheets were unkind to the Vikings, losing their best defender, MSD Lucky Find champ Liam Picken, and their two best forwards, Tom Mitchell and Jack Ziebell. The later two were especially missed, with their replacements Krak and Salem posting 153 between them. Not terrible by any measure, but certainly less than the Vikings have been used to up front in the last few weeks. <p dir='LTR] <p dir='LTR]This was contrasted with the Smugglers' forward line who put on a clinic, scoring a total of 438 points. Leading the way with 5 goals and 157SC was Mr K. Tippett but he was well supported by a two-finger saluting Dusty (which confused most given 99% of the crowd were Smugglers' fans). Kurt obviously loves playing against Nuytsland as this was his 2nd BOG performance in the two games the clubs have played, to go with the 165 in round 18. <p dir='LTR] <p dir='LTR]2 votes went to another of the Smugglers' big men - Matty Kreuzer, who kicked three goals on his way to 147SC. <p dir='LTR] <p dir='LTR]Best for the Vikings was Zach Touhy who picked up 23 touches off halfback on his way to 125. Shuey and Greenwood fought hard in the midfield to both post tons, but Bryzza would have to be disappointed with Hanley's 76 when the Vikings' post-season was on the line. <p dir='LTR] <p dir='LTR]Interestingly, the Smugglers had 4 scores under 70 compared to the Vikings' 3, but the difference was 8 centurions to 4 as CIFC ran out winners 1477 - 1317. <p dir='LTR] <p dir='LTR]So the Smugglers move on to play the P-Dawgs in the second week of the loser finals, looking for some revenge after Hughenden effectively ended CIFC's season (this highly prestigious loser comp aside) with their win in round 19. <p dir='LTR] The Vikings will be feeling a little hard-done by, posting the 2nd highest score in the first week of the loser finals, but still being bundled out. However, they've shown enough in the last few weeks, in regularly posting 1300+ scores, to suggest that they'll be competitive next year. Getting a prediction in early - they'll be well in the hunt for the lower parts of the 8 in season 2016.

Match Report for the Eden-Gisborne game (a little late but I had a busy weekend :p) After missing out on the finals by 56 points, we were determined to win the minor finals. And that determination showed here with Curnow and Lynch leading the side with 100+ scores. Hale was out due to soreness so Phillips took his place with a career-high 98 to lose by 1 to Maric. Meanwhile for the Grenades, McVeigh, Christensen and Neale top-scored but with Masten out and Hamling, Lake and Lennon already in off-season mode (which will cost Fasolo his spot in next week's team) the Grenades just couldn't get the win. McStay played his debut for a 43. This week it's a rematch against Banchang, they put us out of major finals, we'll put them out of minor finals. Eden Whalers
    1208
DEF: Wood 64, McStay 43, Fasolo 9 Smith 64 (Malceski)
MID: Jones 86, Griffen 98, Miles 94 Murphy 85 (Suban)
    RUC: Hale DNP (Phillips) 98
    FWD: Boomer 88, Lynch 118 Crisp 63 Brown 98
    INT:Curnow 120, Jenkins 80

    Gisborne Grenades
    1046
    Lake 30 Grundy 61, Hunt 83 Hombsch 52
Masten DNP, McVeigh 115, Hill 87, Neale 112
    Maric 99
    Riewoldt 91 Christensen 121, Lennon 17, Ambrose 51
    Douglas 90, Hamling 37

Watching the games over the weekend I could not believe Kurt did it to me again and when Kreuzer had his best game, the better and more consistent team for the year won. Good luck next round .
