It's a blood bath in Southern Cross, with The Sandgropers 8/466/58 trailing the visiting Armadillos 12/1173/98 . The home team didn't expect a win, an oop ruckman with a total score of 25, Yarran showing just how much of a lazy footballer he is, Hoskin-Elliot notfaring much better and Stringer as a late out with no bench cover just helped to seal the deal. Limping to the byes!

It's half time at The Stadium and the table leading Monarchs are in front of the Barcrawlers 9/784 to 9/700. Capt.Courageous Luke Hodge on his return, toiled extremely well for his 130 for the locals, whilst his opposite number Travis Boak compiled an industrious 122 for the visitors. Pyke in the ruck continued his topsy turvy season with 102, after only getting 22 in his previous game. The locals are looking forward to the 2nd half, and hoping to overhaul the Monarch's lead and are quietly confidant of imposing the first defeat on the visitors, as the entire Barcrawlers midfield hasn't hit the park yet. This one could go down to the wire...........

In a tight contest at Dinosaur Park it's the visiting Prospectors who are in front at 3 Quarter Time, 1015/12/84.6 to the Prairie Dogs 934/11/84.9.

At 3qtr time with the Bunyips hosting the Buffaloes, I am yet to add up the scores... just being honest. I thought Gray's 130+ would be enough alone to get me over the line. Then Shulz cracks the Tonne! Surely this will be enough right?? Well 1 player decided he wanted to beat the Dockers single handedly, Patrick Dangerfield busts out a 188! Then to make matters worse, big Sauce gets hosed by the goliath Sandilands to leave the Bunyips well behind where they need to be. Gonna be a close one I reckon!

It's full time at The Stadium in Banchang and the King Island 'Juggernaut' continues on it's merry way. After a close tussle up to half time The Monarchs saved their best for last with Newnes Priddis Naitanui and JJ Kennedy completely dominating the second stanza to run out comfortable winners over The Barcrawlers 1413 to 1254. Banchang put in their best effort for 5 rounds with Hodge Montagna Pyke Walters Adams and Docherty all contributing, but it wasn't good enough to topple the ladder leaders....... BOG Votes 3. Naitanui 152 (KIM) 2. Kennedy 148 (KIM) 1. Hodge 130 (BB)

After Swallow not taking the field I can comfortably say The Sandgropers were no match for the visiting Armadillos. There was no miracle win for the 13 v 15 this week, can't wait for the bye rounds and hopefully a full team (minus Duncan) in round 14. Scores and match report to follow.

Sorry for the delayed after match report.. But here is an abridged version anyhow. Final Score - Bunyips 1234 def Buffaloes 1192 In a very close match the visiting Buffaloes kept the home team wondering all weekend if a boil over was on the cards. Dangers 188 and Jamie Elliots 125 were not enough when the Bunyips decided to POOYA with two players - Lairds 131 and Shulz's 115. You would think someone like Shulz would be able to bust out big scores, but it's just not the case. Fletcher - Congratulations on playing your 400th game, what a milestone, except you stunk it up with your point scoring, and got subbed. Can anyone say MSD? Thanks for the battle Buffaloes... until next time!

After returning home from 4 weeks of road trips, the Crocs struggled to be competitive against the Blowflys losing by 299 points, 948 to 1247. The locals were disappointed but didn't get their hopes up with the number of outs the team has experienced. Jack Martin 5, De Goey's OOP 22, Claye Beams 22, Daniel McKenzie 48 pretty much summed up a poor performance from the Crocs. The only shining lights were crowd favourite Gunston's 113 and Everitt's 100. Last year's mid year recruit Ceglar struggled against big man Todd Goldstein, losing the Big Tap contest 66 to 134. The Blowflys had a decent performance from a number of players, Johannisen (101), Enright (95) and Dunn (94) were dominant down back. Greene (111) and youngster Hartung (90) ran riot through the middle, and the Poo (108) and off-season recruit Wellingham (89) were strong in front of goals. BAFFU Votes 3: Goldstein - 134 (Korumburra); 2: Gunston - 113 (Cow Bay); 1: Greene (Korumburra) - 111

The Grenades white hot form seemingly evaporated on return home, as a fairly average tussle was fought between the Cudas and Gisborne. Both teams only had 3 tons, but Trent Cotchin took the chocolates and 3 votes with a matchwinning 136. Brian Lake gave himself a POOYA nomination with 126 for the Grenades, while Masten and Maric chipped in 111 and 112 respectively. The Crocs Nicholls stood up in indigenous round with 107, missing out on Giant Tap by 5 points, and Bob Murphy just kept going on with 107. A late withdrawal for the Grenades in Grundy meant that they were behind from the start. In a match decided by only 55 points, this proved costly. Around the ground, it was fairly even. The only real points of difference were the midfield and forward liens for both teams. With 3 scores in the 90's and a 136 the Groote midfield demolished the Grenades all day, with the usual suspects for the Grenades letting them down. A 65 for Neale and 77 for McVeigh were well down on usual outputs. An injury to Stanley late in the match gave the Grenades hope, but in the end Groote had piled on too many early points. Gisborne Grenades 1132 defeated by Groote Eylandt Barracudas 1187 3. Cotchin (136)[span class='Apple-tab-span' style='white-space: pre;] 2. Lake (120)[span class='Apple-tab-span' style='white-space: pre;] 1. Maric (112)

Libba, Lycett, Patton, Hampton and possibly Scharenberg would all be handy ins for you with everyone healthy. Good luck for the rest of the season

Hughenden Prairie Dogs 1,245 def by Coolgardie Prospectors 1,338

Home after 4 weeks on the road didn't help the Prairie Dogs with a solid all round performance from the Prospectors. Each time the P Dogs put their noses in front they were cut down by an outstanding mid-field effort led by the trio of Ebert, Martin and Wines. Whilst Sandi was outstanding in ruck against the big Mummy it was the lack of effective effort from the P Dogs in defence that allowed the Prospectors to kick a winning score.
All in all it was the consistency that got the Prospectors across the line at Dinosaur Park.

    BOG awards
    3 Brad Ebert (134)
    2 Stefan Martin (132)
    1 Oliver Wines (123)

Round 9 review - Southern Cross Sandgropers 961 defeated by Ararat Armadillos 1436 - just for you Insider ;) In a match where the final result was as easy to predict as the next time Brad Scottcracks the shits in the coaches box,the final result can only be termed as embarrassing, the 13 players for Southern Cross barely put up a whimper against the reigning premiers. If it wasn't for the heroics of Captain Fyfe it could have been much worse. With the Sandgropers coaching panel hoping for an epic choke from Ararat, the likes of that not seen since the Kangaroos folded like cheaptoilet paperagainst Collingwood onSunday, the win just wasn'tto be, especially when the home side could only muster a Melbourne like performance.Southern Crosswere completely demoralised ina near on 500 point loss that saw them drop from 3rd to 6th on the ladder. With only 3 players scoring under 80 points and huge scores from Wallis (153)& Dahlhaus (125) the win was never in doubt for Ararat, consistency was the key with over half of their squad scoring over 95. The home team was also consistent with7 out of 13 scores under 75 and 4 of those under 43, it was a very dark day for the Sandgropers. Tons from Gaff, Swan and a 3 vote performance form Fyfe (158) were the only highlights forSouthern Cross. The less said about this match the better! The club would love to pick on form, however with possibly only 15 fit players available for round 10 it looks likeBrad Scott'stradition of rewarding mediocrity has arrived inthe gold fields, we'll play the same team again next week and expect a different result! BAFFU 3 votes - N.Fyfe 2 votes - M.Wallis 1 vote - L.Dahlhaus

It's the Grenades 285/3 leading the Vikings 0/0. Three 90's for Gisborne capped off a good Friday night. Maric has set 92 for Grundy to beat, both having only lost one Big Tap match this year

At the end of the first third just the 3 players have contributed to the match score. Crocs are 85/1/85 to the Prospectors 114/2/57. Everitt's 85 has been the best so far with JPK posting an underwhelming 62 for Coolgardie.

It's half-time at The Stadium, and the visiting Parasites have their noses in front of the Barcrawlers 9/717 to 9/681, in a very close game. Buddy with 121 and Simpson 109, have both put in good performances for the visitors whilst the home team have been well served by Selwood 122, in a welcome return to form, and Walters 99, his third score in the 90's in succession. The 2nd half should be a cracker with McGovern Suckling Montagna Gibson Hodge and Blair for the locals, trying to get a home win over Higgins Beams Sidebottom Riewoldt Hogan and Garlett for the visitors.
