A complete and utter rethink is needed for the Gisborne Grenades, as they suffer their second loss to a team which could have been beaten. After sitting 5th throughout the bye rounds, the Grenades have now dropped to 10th. For the Smugglers, the win gives them two in a row and they sit 11th, one spot behind the Grenades. It was touted as a mouth-watering contest between the 8th and 9th highest scoring teams for the year. Unfortunately, this didn't eventuate. The Smugglers were simply too good, notching up 8 tons across the board compared to the Grenades 3. Simply too many Gisborne players (7) were in the 60s and 70s, and while the Smugglers similarly had 6 in that range, with more than half of the Christmas Island team tanning up it proved too much for the Grenades. Brett Deledio topped all comers with 139, while for the Grenades McVeigh was one of few stars reaching 124. Christmas Island's Shaun Grigg also hit 124, Tippet and Redden 118 apiece and Dyson Heppell 112. Dustin Martin underperformed for the visitors with a meek 68 and Hurn (71) was well shut-down by second gamer Jack Steele (94). One to watch for the future in both this comp and the various other fantasy competitions. Neale and Hill continued to show their flat-track bully tendencies with 72 and 78 respectively. Once Neale stands up in the big matches he will become a star of the game, but until then, he is simply a cog in Fremantle's midfield. Stephen Hill will be put up for trade at the end of the year, early offers are welcomed. Matt Kruezer won the big tap contest against an Out-Of-Position Levi Casboult by 65 points, 100 to 35. Hughenden Prairie Dogs 1,352 defeated Southern Cross Sandgropers 1,302 The Prairie Dogs finished with a wet sail to overcome a determined Sandgroper outfit at Dinosaur Park and to the delight of the home ground winning the inaugural ‘Veto Cup'. The Sandgropers were out to an early lead with outstanding performances from both former Prairie Dog players - Swan (130) and Bartel (116 ) and some support from seasoned campaigners Hurley (123) and Swallow (136) but it was the Prairie Dogs midfield that did the damage with the Big Sandi outpointing Ryder for most of the day. The midfield and forward line were unstoppable with Ward (122), Mitchell (144), Breust (139) and Shiels (121) the recipients. Dylan Shiel damaged his knee late in the 2nd quarter and is added to a growing injury list for Hughenden but the talk of the round was the controversial clash between Mitchell and Fyfe which saw Fyfe with a corky early in the second quarter and his performance sub-par compared to his season's average. It will be interesting to see how the MRP view this one post-game. Overall it was an impressive win by the Prairie Dogs to give them 3 in a row but the injury to Dylan Shiel gives Hughenden only 14 fit players for next weeks' home clash against the 2nd placed Armadillos who are on a roll. There will be some intense physio activity to get at least 1 extra fit player on the field. BOG awards 3 Sam Mitchell (144) 2 Luke Breust (139) 1 Andrew Swallow (136)

Here's hoping the stuttering Smuggler machine is finally clicking into gearwith a couple of weeks of decent scoring. Although given our terrible start and thepacked tablepretty much every game from here is a must-win to have any chance of making the 8.
I've been busy these holidays but I've found the time to post this: The Scotch 'n' Coke Stein had strange circumstances, in this case Trengove tried using a doppelganger to get 2 spots on the team and security had to escort Lachie Hunter off the ground after his Matt Jones disguise wore out. Good of Curnow to spot that after once being mistaken for Suban (or was that the other way around). Even after that, it was still a close game with the 14-man Prospectors side taking it all the way up to the Whalers with 5 100+ players (Wines, JPK, Westhoff, MacMillan and Baguley). Murphy led the way for us with 113 points and Miles got 98 to take his lead in the Lucky Find in Martin's absence and the bench players Pav and Curnow did just enough to secure the win. Early update as the Bulls continue their northern mid season trek (Banchang, Xmas Island) A spritely Bulls outfit lead early in this one CIS 1/72 72 SFB 2/192 96
Early doors the Sandgropers (2/222/111 - read this in Richie Benaud's voice) lead the Buffaloes (3/195/65) by 27 points.
Coolgardie have come flying out of the blocks against Pearcedale with a solid first-ninth lead. Will it last? Probably not! Prospectors: 230 / 3 / 76.7 Panthers: 0 / 0 / 0
Vikings 9/721 Monarchs 8/750 Mid season recruit sheuy disappointing 51 Ziebell leading top scorer 125
The Bulls are in control at Flying Fish Cove Park, where they lead the Smugglers 1067/12 (88.9) to 529/7 (75.6). Like last year the Bulls' big Hawks, Roughy and McEvoy have tonned up, with veteran Stanton leading all comers with 119. Shannon Hurn has been very effective from halfback for the Smugglers with a 103, but he's had limited support. With seven of the remaining 11 players taking part in tomorrow's twilight game the result won't be confirmed until late on Sunday, but Staghorn Flat certainly hold the whip hand at the moment.
The Sandgropers (12/1051/88)look to have this one in their grasp, leading The Buffaloes (9/644/72) by 407 points. Still time for Serengeti to turn it around but it's going to take a huge effort from here.
Pakenham fighting hard against Groote trail with players in hand. Groote are 999 with 2 to play Pakenham are 922 with 5 to play A close finish looks likely

What a game we have on our hands with the Bunyips hosting the Barcrawlers. Current scoring is Bunyips 676/9 ave 75.1 and Barcrawlers 731/10 ave 73.1 Gonna be a close one!
Six-ninth of the way through, and its game over for the Prospectors... Coolgardie 705 / 9 / 78.3 Pearcedale 974 / 9 / 108.2 How do you compete with Devon Smith scoring 170 and Josh Caddy scoring 171? If it wasn't for Goldy's 221, these two boys would have to be close to this week's POOYA (but Goldy has it in the bag!)
bryzza wrote: Vikings 9/721 Monarchs 8/750 Mid season recruit sheuy disappointing 51 Ziebell leading top scorer 125 Vikings thought an upset was possible when Ziebell top scored in the forward line with 125, but in the end Walker 102 and Bell 103 were to good. Then the ruck dual came Nic Nat took the honors 100, but Grundy fought hard but was used up forward for most of the game and if he converted his opportunities just maybe would have taken the chocolates. Vikings back line of late had been putting up some huge scores of late and both teams put up equal efforts but Broadbent had the last laugh with 94. Game was lost in the middle with a huge last quarter from Thompson 150 and Boak 130 killing the game. Greenwood first game of the year 84 but faded badly, Betts stunk it up big time and almost lost it for the Monarchs with 39. Vikings 1165 lost Monarchs 1283 1. Thompson 2. Boak 3. Ziebell
The Smugglers and Bulls have played out another epic, with the boys from Staghorn Flat holding on for a 12 point win 1302-1290. After the Bulls led by close to 500 points during the third term, the Smugglers came home with a wet sail thanks to Hartlett (126), Grigg (106), Vlastuin (105) and a game high 141 from Brett Deledio. However, the Bulls' skipper, Tommy Rockliff, stepped up when it mattered posting a game winning 101. Jimmy Webster is likely to be rage traded after he won the toss (literally) to take the field instead of new recruit Trent McKenzie. Webster spudded it up with a 31 while McKenzie is hopefully coming into form with a 93. But take nothing away from the Bulls, who deserved the win due to their consistency around the ground. While still waiting on results from around the grounds to confirm, the win will push the Bulls close to the 8, while the Smugglers will have to win all their remaining games to play finals (and even then might not be guaranteed a spot). BAFFU 3: Deledio 141 (CIS) 2: Hartlett 126 (CIS) 1: Stanton 119 (SFB)
Well thats a wrap for this week, a Huge score from the reigning big tap has seen the Bunyips take the win. Bunyips 1279 Def Barcrawlers 1020. All 3 BAFFU to the home team: Jacobs Gray Mayne Thanks for the match up mate. I was a bit worried there for a bit!
...and the tanking continues in round 16 for the Prospectors, going down to the visiting Pearcedale Panthers by 274 points, 1147 to 1421. Although we broke out of the blocks early, and put a score on the board before the Panthers even turned up, the fact that the averages were so abysmal really didn't help. In the end there were only two tons for the home side, 105 from JPK and a stellar 132 from rookie Touk! There's a bright future in this kid. Having 5 players fail to break 60 points though really hurt, and there was no way to recover. For the visitors it was a tale of Yin and Yang. Two players, McGlynn and Membrey decided not to turn up, forcing emergencies Ray and Savage to take the field. B Smith continued his disappointment, while Rosa's OPP halved his output. This was however more-than-offset by a couple of HUGE scores, in a 171 from Caddy and a 170 from D Smith. (Seeing as M Jones didn't play for the Prospectors, the Smith's were easily able to keep up with the Jones's in this match!!!). Also topping the ton for Pearcedale were Mundy (133), Weller (128), H Shaw (126), and Parker (102). The quality around the ground was just too much for the home side. A big congratulations to the visitors, who also took out the three BOG's: 3 - J Caddy - 171 - Pearcedale 2 - D Smith - 170 - Pearcedale 1 - D Mundy - 133 - Pearcedale. The win sees Pearcedale climb to 4th place on the ladder, equal with the second and third placed Armadillos and Parasites. The loss sees the slide continue for Coolgardie, now well outside the top 8 in 14th place, and only one Banchang win away from grabbing the 4th pick in the 2016 PSD. Come on CarBrawlers, we're cheering you boys on for the win! Next up sees the Prospectors back on the road, this time to Blanchetown to take on the 'yips. Pearecedale remain in the team bus, which might need to work on its floating abilities, this week heading to King Island to take on the Monarchs. This should be a ripper match, with the two in-form and top-scoring teams from round 16 facing off!
