In what can only be considered the biggest win of the season, Big Sauce Jacobs 156 Defeated Todd the Pretender Goldstein 155. Whilst the reigning Big Tap winner may not be rewarded for his 2015 efforts, surely this is enough for everyone to realise who the real winner is? And for the rest of the match up against the visiting Blowflys: Blanchetown 1320 Def Korumburra 1284. Some big individual scores this week from both teams and some certain terrible scores. Andrew Walker and Jay Shulz both pulled out a 40+ scores to make us wonder - Why? After coming of a bitter sweet lose to the magic number last week the Vikings could have come out flat. Each line was evenly matched and with something to prove Howlett 111 finally put up a decent score, the other forwards supported well Ziebell 106 Robinson 123 . Barracudas forward line could not handle the slippery conditions with disappointing performances from J Cripps 62 Darling 53 being the difference between the two teams. Grundy 95 took out ruck honors, feeding the ball out Viney 135 while also keeping Cotchin quite 73. Barracudas would be very happy as Cunnington 151 ran rampant, magician Zorko 134 had the ball on his wand, 2nd year Bont 116 and surprise packet Guthrie 113 coming of the bench. The contest in the back line could have been different if it wasn't Frawley 86 spent a quarter sitting on the bench with concussion while cudas had to settle for lloyd's 23 half points. <div> Full Time at Eden Sporting complex and the Whalers win 1334 to 957 despite a strong start from Serengeti they couldn't quite follow up the effort. Dangerfield took the BOG for the Buffaloes with 152 but the lack of consistency showed with him outscoring the Buffaloes lowest 5 scoring players. Murphy and Fasolo led the way for the Whalers with Wood, Crisp, Boomer and Hendo also getting 100+, the Buffaloes will have an off-season to rebuild while we push towards late August and hold hope and effort for September. Phillips lost by 1 point in his 2nd time playing ruck but should improve in years to come. Are they the leagues worst finishers? After at one stage sitting in 5th position on the ORFFU ladder, the Gisborne Grenades have dropped to humbling new lows, posting their first sub-1k score of the year. The coaching staff worked hard to eradicate those perfomances over the off-season, but perhaps now fatigue is setting in on the young team. It was a week the Monarchs could have been beaten as well, having one of their worst weeks in recent times with just 1222 points. The Monarchs are still premiership favourites in my eyes and have sealed number 1 spot, but with below average scores the past couple of weeks maybe their grasp on the cup is slipping. BAFFU Votes 3. Don't know if they are or they aren't, Chief, but what I do know is that I thought I traded pretty well in the MS break and drafted pretty well too, hoping to maybe go up a position or three but when you get 16 players, from Rds 14-19, either being subbed in or being subbed out, then all aspirations just go down the chute. And I'm sure all teams have similar stories. And as well as that, when you see 7 other teams in the one round, get a win and 4 points for scoring less than your 1358, but you cop a loss, then you come to realise, mai pen rai....................just can't help bad luck..........there's always next year (t[span style='color: #333333; background-color: #ffffff;]here are lots of different opinions on the direct translation, but mai pen rai literally means <strong style='color: #333333; background-color: #ffffff;]no worries[/b][span style='color: #333333; background-color: #ffffff;]&rdquo; or <strong style='color: #333333; background-color: #ffffff;]it's nothing[/b][span style='color: #333333; background-color: #ffffff;].&rdquo; The expression can also be used as your welcome&rdquo; after someone says thanks.&rdquo

A late match report from Dinosaur Park which saw Hughenden Prairie Dogs 1353 defeat the Christmas Island Smugglers 1206. A tight tussle all day with the Smugglers out to an early lead knowing a win would almost secure a final 8 finish but the Dogs playing for pride and some players their football future eventually overran a tired looking Smugglers unit. The win was set up by the rucking efforts of the monolith who scored a massive 140 points but it was the forward line of Hughenden that finally clicked with Bruest, Hawkins, Waite and Thomas. The Smugglers were consistent all over the ground with Martin 151pts the stand out for them. The loss has the Smugglers in a must win for next week to make the 8 and for other results to fall their way. Best players:- 1. Martin 150 2. Sandilands 140 3. Bruest 126

Update from Groper Park...The Blowflies are out of the blocks quickly, 12/1110/92, leading the home town Sandgropers, 7/605/86. There's a long way to go, but with Duncan a late out and below par scores from Taylor & Bartel this one looks like the Blowflies' to lose.
Those who have paid the 3 ration card admission to Flying Fish Cove Park are being treated to an absolute belter in the Island Nation's Cup II (this time it's personal), with the Cudas holding a narrow lead at half time 764/8 (95.5) to 675/7 (96.4). Guthrie has kicked 3 goals and racked up 30 possies on his way to 135 to currently be the Cudas best. His effort has been matched by Redden's 135 for the Smugglers coming from 31 touches and 7 tackles. With some heavy-hitting Tiges (Lids and Dusty for Xmas, Captain Cotch for Groote) yet to take to the park, this high scoring, close contest looks like going down to the wire. The home fans were disappointed with the HT around the grounds update which revealed Korumburra leading Southern Cross. The Smugglers' very faint finals hopes rely on Groper and Barcrawler wins, so we're hoping for a turnaround at Groper Park.
3 Quarter Time at the Eden Sporting Complex and the visitors are leading 12/1037 (86.57) to 11/941 (85.54), Lynch has scored well with 102, Boomer with 121 showing his skill and Griffen with a season-best 134 while Hodge 108, Newnes 118, Duckwood 114 and Montagna 103 have led for the Barcrawlers. Still to Play: Wood, Jones, Miles and Pav for the Whalers and Gaff, Walters and Lambert for the Barcrawlers... C'mon boys, 1 more win till finals
The Panthers are worrying the Armadillos at 3/4er time despite the home side being ecstatic to be back at home after what seemed like a 157 week road trip filled with minimal match updates and tardy reports. With Palmer getting his highest score of the year and he and Mav Weller scored 40-odd points more than their average, there is a little unease from the the home fans. Theyre hoping this can be offset by Luke Parker snapping his leg and Devon Smith plus Josh Caddy being uncharacteristically quiet. The Armadillos were disappointed with Louie Taylor not being able to raise the bat, scoring a lowly 46, as well as the man with two first names Jack Steven scoring a meagre 77. Some key remaining matchups include Bennell vs Dahlhaus and Saad vs Kologoldcoastlongname. Sitting at 474 vs 653 the locals are crossing their fingers for a strong showing from the Armadillos 75 melbourne-listed players that are yet to take the field.
Update from Dinosaur Park sees the Bulls leading the Prairie Dogs. The Prairie Dogs looked the stronger approaching 3 quarter time but the Bulls have the score on the board, can the Dogs scramble over the line? Staghorn Flat Bulls 1071/13/82 to Hughenden Prairie Dogs 833/9/92. Go the Dogs....
Assuming no further corrections I have the Panthers narrowly losing to the Armadillos 1197 v 1205. More to come when scores are final
