Last game of the season see Vikings take on a depleted Croc's. Croc's never really got going with Boyd and Jones late outs, croc's never brought any replacements. Croc's forward line was too tall and couldn't apply enough pressure, Viking forwards were on fire lead by Mitchell 147 and Robinson 166. Grundy 89 easily rucked over a lack luster Lycett. Shuey 125 was the last stand out for the Vikings as the rest put the cue in the rack, it was a sad game for croc's especially as there best player was rookie De Goey 103. Two wins in a row tops of a difficult season for the Vikings and shows we wont be easy beats next year. Vikings 1276 def Croc's 890
Out in the goldfields the tanking seems to have failed, in both getting the Prospectors back into the 8, and getting the Prospectors a decent pick in the 2016 PSD. The Prospectors took out a solid win against the visiting Serengeti Buffalos, 1292 (86.1 average) to 1005 (71.8 average). The home side were infront all match long, helped greatly by the undermanned Baffalo midfield, which lined up 1 man short, then watched as Liam McBean just walked off the ground before the first bounce to go play GameBoy. He must have distracted a couple of his teammates with Tetris, as Longer, Dixon, and Daniher failed to break 6 goals 1.[span class='Apple-tab-span' style='white-space: pre;] The flip side saw three tons, Pittard down back and Elliot up forward just breaking the 100, while soon-to-be Geelong recruit Dangerfield top-scored for his side and the match, with 157 points. Unfortunately for the visitors it wasn't enough to get them even close to the home side Tankers. That's not to say that the Prospectors had it all their own way, with Baguley and Griffin failing to break 50, and Ellis only just hitting that mark. The decimated Coolgardie midfield saw only one ton, with captain JPK scoring 136 points, doubling the output of Touk, and near-doubling both Ebert and Jones. Against Longer's terrible effort, Big Stefan won the giant tap match-up in a canter, scoring 119 points himself. Two more tons were made by the boys, both up forward, with The Hoff scoring 106, and 'old man' Petrie top scoring with 141. Unfortunately, I believe that leaves the Prospectors languishing in 10th place (give or take), depending on results from other games. It was the season that was ruined by injury for the boys, with most players missing atleast one game each, and more season-ending injuries than should be allowed to be suffered by an ORFFU team! Top 3 for the game: 3 - Patrick Dangerfield - Serengeti - 157 2 - Drew Petrie - Coolgardie - 141 1 - Josh P. Kennedy - Coolgardie - 136
The news from Dinosaur Park sees the Hughenden Prairie Dogs run all over the Staghorn Flat Bulls. Final scores Hughenden 1343 to Staghorn 1194. Great win by Hughenden which sees them just fall short of the final 8 and leaves the Bulls with a lot to think about as they commence their finals campaign. Match report to come.....
The Smugglers have taken out the Island Nations Cup, beating Groote 1356-1307. In a performance that looks like sealing CIFC's B&F for 2015, Dusty Martin was the standout in the 2nd half, kicking 3 goals on his way to 123 points. He was well supported by Deledio (105) and Grigg (98). Veteran Bob Murphy tried hard for the Cudas cracking the ton with an impressive game from half back but an unfortunate injury to ruckman Tom Nicholls, derailed any chance of a Cudas come from behind win. Tropical storms have resulted in a radio blackout on Christmas Island, so the Smugglers' final position is unknown. But as a betting man I'd wager good money on CIFC finishing 9th, based on points for. As a Richmond fan this seems appropriate.
The Islander Cup will make its way to the Smugglers trophy room. Two hands for beginners when drinking out of this vessel. Well done to the boys from the west coast island, until next time, work hard, play hard.
What drama in the final round with Eden blowing the chance to make the 8. Korumburra did not need a second chance and have scraped in to 8th place. Some tantalising selections ahead for the first round of the finals, the race is wide open!!
Southern Cross Sandgropers 1138 defeated by Korrumburra Blowflies 1317 In a game that was effectively a dead rubber for the home team but still aopportunity to shape the eight, Southern Cross were forced to play undermanned with Hurley, McGovern, Duncan, Yarran, Vandenberg & eternally injured Crouch all missing. All 6 are probably best 15 and would potentially have added 30 points each to the match total, with picks 3, 6 and the Armadillo's first rounder the club are well placed to move up the ladder next season. To the match...the home team were in with a chance for the first five minutes when Swanny continued his good form of late to post 127, he was later joined by Ryder playing his best game of the season, soring 111 and Fyfe back after injury with 119. That was it for the Sandgropers, 6 players scored 60 points or less making it almost a miracle that the side managed to get to 1138 points. Korrumburra had their own problems too with4 players scoring under 65, however 116 from the veteran Enright coupled with Sloane's 145, Blicav's 101 and Goldie's 122 and multiple scores in the 90's was enough to get them a comfortable win. Can the aging Johnson & Enright have a say in the finals? Can the Blowflies Bradbury it in 2015?I'd think not, but then no one except for Insider gave Ararat a chance last season! There's 4 weeks to go, who will come out on top? Really wouldn't be surprised to see the Armadillos go back to back!!!
Full time at the Eden Sporting Complex and Banchang win 1311 to 1255 A good year from the boys... 56 points short of finals. 9-8 again ... well, it sets up for a better 2016. Of all the ways to just miss the finals, losing to a full-strength Barcrawlers side is definitely the best way. What a game it was too, close all day but Banchang led by 5 100+ scorers managed to walk away with the win. From the way they played this game, I think they'll be the big improvers for 2016 as well. Final match report for the Armadillos vs Panthers game saw the provisional scores stand: 1205 to 1197. After Melbourne got pantsed the Ararat supporters were quite worried when only stalwart backman Tom McDonald managed a semi-respectable score of 99. A full review will be conducted followed by some leading teams-type action with Bernie, Maxxy and Crossy all failing to put up a whimper. The day was saved by William & Roald (also known as Mitch Wallis and Luke Dahlhaus) who both eclipsed 130 points to bring home the bacon. For the visitors a valiant effort was mounted by the ever reliable David Mundy with a 128, however he had no mates with Bennell, Ellis and Rosa all failing to take control of a winnable game. Far from disgraced, I'm sure Pearcedale will be ruing injuries and bad luck rather than poor form and the local 'fried everything' Burger speciality.
Fixture will be fixed for next year, I don't like having to do match reports for 5 games in a row. A disappointing finish to the season for the Grenades was compounded by a loss to 3rd placed Blanchetown Bunyips. Armitage and Jacobs (143) were both far too strong for the Grenades, with Robbie Gray finding some pre-finals form (131) and the ever dependable DePendlebury chipping in with 118. Even with Schulz not playing, the backup for the Bunyips was strong, with Laverde hitting a solid 83. Only Whitfield and Pearce had really poor games for Blanchetown, both failing to hit 70, however coach martyg will not be too disappointed with the pair getting their low scores out of the way. Gisborne wishes Blanchetown the best of luck for finals, as well as all other teams involved

We'll take the win, but it seems as if the Islander Cup isa poisoned chalice - the winner has missed finals by the barest of margins both years so far!

Hughenden Prairie Dogs 1,335 defeated Staghorn Flat Bulls 1,231 The Prairie Dogs finished with a wet sail to overcome a determined Bulls outfit at Dinosaur Park. The Bulls were out to an early lead with solid performances from Rockliff (145) Roughead (110) and Stanton (99) but the rest of the players were unable to provide the support desperately needed. Although firmly entrenched in the top 8 the Bulls were far from their season best perhaps peaked too early for finals. The Dogs came home with a wet sail easily accounting for the Bulls with outstanding performances from Sandilands (150) Jack (123) and Shiels (115). Whilst it was an easy win for the Dogs the season will be reviewed as one of lost opportunities, falling short of a finals series appearance. The Bulls enter the final series with a loss which may dent their confidence but is it the loss they had to have….. BOG awards 3 Sandilands (150) 2 Rockliff (149) 1 Jack (123) [span style='color: #434343; text-decoration: underline;]

A ding dong battle in progress at King Island! Monarchs 760 / 8 / 95 Blowflys 821 / 9 / 91 Standouts for King Island so far have been big Tex Walker (114) Houli (113) Boak (102) and Zac Smith (106) in his return game Starring for Korumburra so far are captain Sloane (149) and Steven Motlop (147) with solid performances from Enright (107) and the enigma that is Steve Johnson (107) King Island are looking the goods on paper with the likes of Priddis, Dal Santo and Macrae to come Korumburra will need some big numbers from the likes of players who can polarise the scoreboard in Johannisen, Walker and Wellingham The final result could come down to whether or not Lynden Dunn can shut down Josh Kennedy again and of course... The big battle in the middle with NicNat returning to take on the giant tap champion in Goldstein! It's lived up to the hype so far, let's hope this one goes down to the wire!
Looks like two close tussles at King Island and Packenham, exactly how finals should be. Thanks for the updates boys.
