One thing I'd like to raise/clarification on is the auction process - a couple of times coaches that are bidding have "added" extra lots to the auction, e.g. making a bid that requests a draft pick in addition to the originally offered player. Personally I have no issue with this, as it is then up to the coach running the auction to determine if they're happy to accept the bid. Stopping the addition of extra lots seems to be needlessly restricting trading imho. However I know others don't share that view, so I think it would be good to finalise this issue before the next auction period.
DamoH, Coaches can bid what ever they like, eg player/s picks etc & the coach that has put up the auction they chooses to reject or accept bid. What is on auction can not be changed once the auction starts regardless of bids being rejected or accepted. Eg player X is up for auction, you or the bidder can't then change whats up for auction ie it's now player X & pick Y. That would constitute a negotiation not an auction. If all bids rejected at end of auction then negotiations can start. If a bid has been accepted the item up for auction will be sold for that bid. Hope that clarifies it, at the end of the day once an auction starts no changes to the item up auction can be done, simple. Yad
Hi Yad Cheers for the response. I understand that is the current position, my post was driving at whether this is worth changing for future auction periods. It seems strange to me that we would lock 2 coaches out of a deal that both were happy with simply because of the addition of another lot at auction. I can't see how other coaches are disadvantaged as the auction is public, so they can make their own assessment of whether they choose to match the bid or not. Perhaps I'm missing something, but what is the downside of allowing this flexibility?
By virtue of changing the item for sale during an auction would constitute an open negotiation not an auction. Happy to have open negotiations if that's what a coach wants to do however it needs to be communicated up front. No changing part way through. The main issue last year was that a bid for an auctioned player was accepted and then coaches wanted to change what was for auction, it's just not on. If all bids had been rejected then it would be prudent close the auction earlier and start negotiations public or private. If coaches want to have different types of auctions (highest bid, start high & go down etc) that's fine you just need to communicate it up front & not change it part way through and that's the main issue. Hey folks, Just giving you all a heads up. I'm heading back to OZ on Friday to take up a short term posting in the backblocks of W.A. at a little place called Jameson Community on the edge of the Simpson Desert and I'm not sure of the availability of the Internet so have asked Insider to handle my selections in the upcoming PSD. I will hopefully be returning to Banchang on the 7th March to oversee the Barcrawlers final training sessions prior to the commencement of the '16 season.......
YAD69, I know your probably working tirelessly to get the players available list up just wondering when you think it will be ready?
It will be available in the morning of the draft as I'll need to wait until all the delists are done which closes 12Feb16 midnight.
Alrighty Coaches, Have gone through the posts regarding the discussion thread from last year. The synopsis is: Squad size is a no for most, some wouldn't mind it if it went up as long as it was attached to mandatory de-listing. Rookie listing just seems too bloody hard to manage and without clear rules it will just be confusing - no poll required Loop holing appears to be a big no. The Board has looked at it and as such have amended the rules [Refer 1 (j)]. Match review seems to be the go for home teams just need to have a better fixture which has occurred and been posted. I take the heat on that for 2015. Events not covered for in the rules appears to be split, some wanting the powers to be to action it and the rest want a vote - poll required. Non filling of team in the first round and any from there most were happy with zero as the score. MSD order due to non-filling of team, some were happy with a score of 1,500 to deter tanking others liked averages (without the zero game/s included) – the Board have decided to use a score of 1,500 to deter tanking. In summary No Change squad size to stay at 26 no mandatory delisting no rookie list home team does match review non filling of team gets a score of zero mandatory team post in the thread before kick-off (Board feels this is essential) New Rule no loop holing Zero score MSD substitute score - 1,500 or average (without zero scored games) Other minor changes Poll required Events - Board or Vote The rules have been posted and sent to the g-mail for all to see, changed rules are highlighted in yellow. A poll will be posted regarding how events should be handled: by the Board or by a Vote. All coaches must vote (exception Choppers) within the time frames.
Has the blowflys managed to make it to the site ready for draft day? Sent from my GT-N7105T using Tapatalk
Well, I've been worried for weeks now, it doesn't matter how many pm's or email you send. What can you do!
I can't make people give me their email addresses or phone numbers but it might be something we should do. However, this site is suppose to be for the Too Serious Fantasy Footballers!
Rule 7.Commitment (e) Greater than two weeks of no activity or contact at any point in the year (without prior notice of unavailability) is considered grossly inappropriate, and will result in board discussion regarding your tenability to the position of an ORFFU coach.
Draft is flying along....I'm excited to have my pick! Hoping that will be today. Being after Korumbura though has me not getting my hopes up
