In the sunny climes of Southern Cross the home town Sandgropers trail @wrightbrendan 's Buffalos 1/98/98 to 3/257/86; game on!
Qtr time at The Stadium and the visiting Blowfies from Korumburra have bounded out of the starting blocks and lead the Barcrawlers 3/212 to 1/79, thanks to a mighty effort from their pocket rocket, Puopolo with 108.
Slow start at Mill Park approaching 1/4 time Bulls 3/162 Whalers 1/86 Bulls get the oop out of the way early and now need to work their way back into the contest
2/9ths through in Gisborne @Tylo 's King Island Monarchs 333/4/83.25 are leading the Grenades 55/1/55
@wrightbrendan I'm at the Eagles v Crows mate; I'll have a score update for you when you wake up. What a score from Danger! Could be enough to get you over the line!!!
@wrightbrendan Just over half way through the match and the home side (12/1029/85.75) looked to have it in their keeping until Dangerfield scored a huge 229 to give the Buffalos (8/826/103.25) a foothold in the match. Will a 200 point lead with 4 less players to score be enough for the Sandgropers to hold on & win back to back matches for the first time this season? The locals are hoping for a huge one from Prestia!
Don't worry YAD, I'm fully expecting my team to stop playing once the final quarter gets underway. I'm also expecting the Prospectors to not hold that lead either. Seriously - what on earth happened to the Eagles tonight???
1/2 Time @ Mill Park @HOLKY Whalers are looking at maintaining their unbeaten streak over the out of form and injury hit Bulls. A Swallow didn't look concussed to me! Its the Whalers to lose from here. Bulls: 531 / 8 / 66 Whalers: 497 / 6 / 83
@Tylo 's Monarchs have led all match, and still do, sitting at 1056/14/75.4 almost double Gisborne's 541/9/60.1
Half-time score from Banchang's Stadium has the visiting Blowflies 10/704 (70.4) leading the Barcrawlers 8/673 (84.1). Korumburra started the 1st qtr brightly with Puopolo leading the way with 108, and while Sloane 114, and Goldy 83, had good 2nd qtrs, Banchang were able to get back into the game through an industrious Gibson with144 and the ever reliable Selwood with 141.
Apologies @ddsaints, the Smugglers' logistics manager convinced the coach that the game was being played in Pakenham this weekend. After some frantic calls to Border Force, the team (minus the logistics staff) have been airlifted back to Xmas Island. Score update to come shortly.
With Trengove still to come @wrightbrendan 's visiting Buffalos (14/1334/95.3) have put in their best performance of the season to beat the Sandgropers (15/1282/85.5). The locals were buoyed by their highest score for the season but it looks like they met the Buffalos in the wrong week; with the byes up next at least they can look forward to a few weeks without a loss. Serengeti will be stoked with the win which should end up being by 100+ points; their emerging team all clicked in the same round with a standout performance from Captain Dangerfield.
In a lop sided contest out at The Lagoon, bottom placed Crocs are facing a defeat to the top team - Ararat. 8/9ths of the way through scores are: Crocs 867/14/62 Dillos 884/10/88 +1 donut
Early in the last and the game is still live. Still the Whalers to lose... Bulls: 1068 + Blair Whalers: 972 + Jones, Crisp & Maynard The Bulls will most likely end up ruing the injury to Swallow and OOP in Hill
3/4 time at The Stadium and the Barcrawlers have all their players back in the shed with a score of 1229 on the board, while The Blowflies still have Williams to come, to add to their score of 955. He'll need to produce a "Dangerfield" type effort to get the win for his team.
