6/9th through the match in Coolgardie and we have the home side with their noses infront against coach @martyg and the Blanchetown Bunyips
    1,006.5 / 11 / 91.5 to 808 / 10 / 80.8

Leading the way for the home side is J Macmillan on 143 points, ahead of Wines and Ebert, with the OOP Clarke bringing up the rear on 17.5 points.
For the visitors, S Pendlebury is leading the way on 140 points, closely followed by R Gray, and then there's daylight and nighttime back to S Mitchell and T Varcoe. Bringing up the rear is K Lambert on 43 points.

Still to come its O Fantasia, J Kennedy, J Watts, and T Miller, and 198.5 points for the Prospectors.
The Bunyips still have R Laird, T Sherridan, S Jacobs, C Mayne, and M Brown to come.

Can the finals-bound Bunyips come back in the last third, or will the Prospectors hold on to take out an unlikely win?

BarCrawlers have one foot in the finals, even though Xmas Island have a slight lead 850/12 (71) to 823/10 (82).

At 6/9th time the home side are in front of the visiting Buffalos in a low scoring affair and a reflection of both clubs season of inconsistency.

    Hughenden 725/11

    Serengeti 660/10

All over at Pakenham. A massive game for both clubs.
The Eden Whalers have taken the win with a great team performance. It was finals like atmosphere with both teams going at it hard. A close game throughout with the Whalers having the edge for most of the battle and finishing well enough to hold off the under performing Parasites
    Eden 1225 to Pakenham 1154
Some good scores from Scully 117 and Curnow 103 leading the way for the away team and respectable scores from most of the team proved the difference.
BJ 109 and Gaff 109 toiled hard but once gain the home team had to many passengers. The bottom tiered players at the Parasites aren't just up to scratch. Something the coach needs to change come offseason.
Finals could be out of reach for Pakenham now based on form, with all hope nearly gone.
Makes for an interesting round next week, something we all will enjoy no doubt.
Good luck to everyone in the wash up

Its been a resounding win for the Coolgardie Prospectors over coach @martyg and the Blancehtown Bunyips.
    The home side romped it in with 1,415.5 / 13-and-2-halves / 94.4 to the visitors 1,157 / 15 / 77.1 to win by 258.5 points.

In what was clearly the Prospectors best performance of the season, 8 players topped the ton (9 if you count an OOP J Smith in defence). The team was lead by defender J Macmillan on 143 points, closely followed by captain J Kennedy on 137 points, and last-minute-hero forward J Watts on 131 points (it was a day for the "J's"). Also breaking 100 points were O Wines (116), B Ebert (111), S Mumford (110), D Petrie (105), and M Hutchings (104). The rest of the team did quite well, all the way down to bottom scorer R Clarke (OOP) in defence on only 17.5 points.
Quite simply: Where has this performance been all year?

The visiting Bunyips got a case of the yips, with only three players breaking the ton. These were stalwart S Pendlebury on 140 points, R Gray on 134 points, and R Laird on 129 points. The chasm back to the next best players was huge, more than 40 points, with S Mitchell and T Varcoe on 84 points. The rest of the team petered off, all the way down to the unfortunately injured ruckman S Jacobs on 26 points. The coach and fans will be hoping the team can put together a much more consistent effort next week and going into the finals.
Quite simply: Too many passengers this week!

    The votes:
    3 - J Macmillan, Coolgardie, 143
    2 - S Pendlebury, Blanchetown, 140
    1 - J Kennedy, Coolgardie, 137

    Giant Tap:
    S Mumford, Coolgardie, 110, defeated S Jacobs, Blanchetown, 26.

    Next week:
The Coolgardie Prospectors are on the road to King Island to take on @Tylo and the Monarchs. Meanwhile the Blanchetown Bunyips take the long road trip to the Serengeti to take on @wrightbrendan and the Buffalos.
Can the Prospectors make a surprise run into the 8?
Can the Monarchs keep a top-four berth?
Can the Bunyips keep a top-four berth?
Can the Buffalos finish the year on a high infront of their home fans?

The BarCrawlers have run out comfortable winners 1225-1097 to end the Smugglers (and a couple of other teams) finals hopes.

    Full match report to come.

Great write up mate and good updates over the weekend. The Yips are definitely settled into the team as we are 0-3 in recent times. This could just be the end of our very hopeful season.

In what has been touted battle of the rebuilds this was a danger game for Vikings, as Blowflies rolled into town with there star studded line up and thick gold chains hanging down to the knees they looked threatening. The Stevie J show fired early a massive 146 with 3 goals inspired Motlop 108 with 3 goals who has had an indifferent year, Sloane wanted to get into the action 141 with 33 disposals was everywhere, seemed like he was on the give and go with Montagna 101 but it was not all good news Hodge 76 another poor performace must be playing in pain and ex Viking Hanley 72 failed to play he pigeon role. Back from injury Johannisen 102 has not put a foot wrong running the ball out of defense 26 disposals but with with two rookies and an out of form McVeigh 67 let the team down. Coming off the bench were two more rookies with Hunt 84 only showing heart. Goldstein 118 just won the ruck battle by two points, with the win in hand only needing Walters to reach his average he put in his worst performance of the year scoring a putrid 27, game over.

For Vikings we still dont know how we won continually adding up the scores just to make sure. Ross 120 coming off the bench top scored with Birchall 115 his best game of the year then Grundy 116 keep us close. In what was the worst midfield display Miles 48 Viney 65 Sheuy 90 Crouch 89 it was always going to be struggle with no stand outs.

    Vikings Victors
    3.Johnson 146
    2.Sloane 141
    1.Ross 120

In what was probably a disappointing result for both coaches, just 3 players on the ground managed to hit triple figures this weekend. The Bulls however had far fewer passengers than the Crocs and ran out 174 point winners, 1203 to 1029.

McEvoy took out the Big Tap winning the duel in the middle against Lycett, 84 to 76.

Aside from the Bulls' Coniglio's efforts, Swallow (89) and Rockliff (81) failed to get out of second gear while Griffen (62) seemed to be suffering from a case of CBF. For the Crocs, the frustrating Acres (110) delivered this week but has little support from Libba (72), first year player Keays (54) and DeGoey (52).

The forwards again shouldered the load for Cow Bay with Gunston (101), Boyd (88) and Martin (72) again holding their ends of the bargain but Cameron (41) failed to take his opportunity against weaker opposition. Staghorn's forwards match the home sides with young McGovern (95) leading the way with decent support from TJLynch (92) and Bird (82). Lobb (63), however didn't finish the game fully fit.

The Cow Bay defence again wasn't up to standard but saw promising signs from OMac (94). Collins (61), first year player Tucker (60), and Lonergan (44) disappointed. Staghorn was able to rely on old stalwart Mackie (94), saw Ibbo (88) take hold of his opportunity to play senior football, had new recruit Wilson (65) do his job and Duryea (64) do what he had to do.

    BAFFU
    3 - Coniglio SFB (121)
    2 - Acres COW (110)
    1 - Gunston COW (101)

Groote Eylandt Barracudas 1,360 def Southern Cross Sandgropers 1,070

From the Shire of Yilgarn the Sandgropers made their way to Groote Eylandt on the Indian Pacific from the barren and dry desert of Southern Cross. However, Cyril went walk about while he was on a constellation dreamtime which left the team even more vulnerable.

The Cuda’s had a solid win away against the Bulls in round 18 and were looking to consolidate their momentum.

It’s been a long season for the Sandgropers and the long trip across this big brown land didn’t do them any favours. Young Jack Darling’s first appearance at his old club didn’t deter him in putting his best foot forward and his boot with 4 goals as he shadowed Devon Smith who was one of the visitors best on ground. Roughead struggled all day in the big tap stakes. McGovern and Day were deep in defence putting in the hard yards as Plowman and Taylor tripped over themselves. Through the midfield Sheed left turd after turd in his pants however there was a shining light for the visitors, leading the way was Vandenberg, this young man is star in the making as Duncan and Crouch followed suit.

Picking up where they left off last week the Cuda’s Burgoyn and Dea double teamed pushing the pig skin forward at every opportunity while Sutcliffe locked down his opponent and Weitering suffered a knock to the leg. After a poor game the week before Hanna’s came out like a bull on heat muscling his way around the paddock as Cripps of the Patrick kind was on fire on the inside and out. The “Bont” took the back stage this week however was still solid. The big tap belonged to Nicholls as his delivered the goods to Lewis and Capitan Cotch. Jong played the decoy keeping the forward line open for the big timber in Cripps of the Jamie variety and Stan-ley who out ran his opposition with ease.

As the regular season games draws closer to an end the Sandgroper will be looking the heavens for guidance as they deal with the carnage of season 2016. For the Cuda’s plenty of hands went up to be counted this week in a show to the faithful who come out each home game and cheers them on in the wind, rain or the heat.

Serengeti Buffalos 997 def Hughenden Prairie Dogs 983

In a tight contest that didn’t really reach any great heights the visiting Buffalos pulled off a narrow victory by 14 points.
There were few highlights from the game with both sides reduced to 14 players due illness and having players in the magoos who were unable to get to the ground, most notably Polec (106) for Serengeti.
Game highlight was Dangerfield (144) who led from the front all day but he had little support around him with only Aish (98), Merritt (92) and Daniher (89) providing support, for the home side it the usual duo who provided some resistance for the fans Ward (112) and Shiel (105). It was a great result for the Buffalos who deserved the win over the hapless Dogs.

    BAFFU Awards

    3 Dangerfield (144)
    2 Ward (112)
    1 Shiel (105)

KIM rousted from the recent slumber of mediocrity to put on a good show in Ararat and take the 4 points. Rance and Betts played out of their skin with 145 and 138 which helped cover for the :donut: of Taylor Walker. With the exception of the two aforementioned starring players, it was a good even performance which will have the coach pleased with finals around the corner. Their 1353 score was closer to what should be expected from a team that commands respect and should go deep into FU September

With apologies to @choppers for the delay - real life unfortuantely got in the way this week.

    Round 19 - Banchang defeated Xmas Island 1225 - 1097

The Smugglers hosted the Indian Ocean local derby with a win vital for both sides' top 8 chances.

Unfortuantely for the BarCrawlers only 14 players responded to the wake-up call after a heavy session on Thursday night, so Matty Kreuzer chalked up another big tap win, this time, through, to quote Homer Simpson, the "two sweetest words in the English language - default".

However, the Smugglers' numerical advantage was quickly wiped out with Hamish Hartlett doing as he is prone to do a couple of times a season and being a late withdrawal. With no mid emergency the Barcrawlers took advantage through the centre of the ground - Taylor Adams being the pick to post 123, with solid support from Sam Gibson's 109.

Things were no better up front for Xmas Island, where Martin, Menzel and LeCras were all significantly down on their normal performances - being 28points per player under their averages. This fumbling and bumbling forward line gave plenty of opportunities for the BarCrawlers defenders to rack up plenty of touches, with Tuohy (108) and Docherty (107) the standouts.

One of the sliders of the MSD, and current lucky-find leader, Jackson Trengove played a lone hand down back and in the ruck for the Smugglers, with 132, but it was no-where near enough, as the BarCrawlers took out a comfortable and well-deserved victory.

The result almost guarantees BanChang (what I think is their maiden) finals appearance, while the Smugglers are left to ponder what might have been, saving one of their worst performances for the year for a must-win game.

After starting the year 0-5, the coach was proud of the boys to fight back to be in finals contention, especially without their top 2 mids for the year. However, the slow starts are something that need to be looked at in the off-season, as CIFC has never won a game in the first 3 rounds in the FU, which has directly lead to just missing finals in the last 2 years.

    BAFFU

    3 - J. Trengove, CIFC (132)
    2 - T. Adams, BB (123)
    1 - S. Gibson, BB (109)
