Goldi sucks. Rookies suck. Parker is awesome and I got a 2160, which feels about par I reckon.

Guess we'll see when it opens. How'd you go?

Yeah, Laird makes injury/suspension #8 for me, but most people should have him.
I would trade Weitering & Davis for a top defender & Smith, but not sure who would be available for you to get in. Maybe someone like Simpson? If no good options are affordable then I'd go for option 2 (or 5 because Selwood could be a better in than Parker).

Ruggles will be back this week and obviously there is no requirement to hold Weitering on your list on weekend. Just need to work out whom your trading him to to make sure you have 6 defenders on field and also continue to improve your team for the rounds ahead.

      Indeed.

Crossing fingers and toes hoping that Ruggles returns. Otherwise at least one :donut: for me this week.

+1 for Laird and Rance sitting on the bench

If Ruggles is back I will be very happy as otherwise I will be mulling a sideways for Laird when I really should be upgrading one of my $260k plus rookies instead.

So - who gets the chop?
      1. Trade Libba only into one of the alternatives. Forget about Smith & Parker this round.
      2. Trade Libba & Davis for Parker & Smith.
      3. Trade Davis & Dea/Weiterng/AMT to upgrade a Defender & grab Smith
      4. Do nothing
      5. Go for Duckwood instead of Parker to ease the bye situation
      TD - Other

Initially went for Selwood & Smith after trading Libba & Davis.
A big thanks for the responses though which prompted me to take a closer look at the Def.

Since I don't have Shaw (and I think the only Def worth getting), now would be the best time to get him.
I had to do a bit of creative tinkering to pay for Shaw and not miss out on Smith..
Dea & Weitering gone for Shaw in. Brown DPP Fwd to Back & Wells Mid to Fwd opens up a spot for Smith in the mids.
I could have kept Dea and traded Laird or Suckling but I think there is more upside in those 2 than keeping Dea for another week.
No cover in the Def but no :donut: at the moment.
No functional links left (I have 4 D/F all in the Def & 7 F/M all in the Fwd) but I can fix that next week.by trading Davis.

Looking at the damage I think I'll hold Laird. He's still going to be a top 10 defender by end of year anyway, and it's more important at the moment to keep the upgrading/downgrading happening.
