Absolute dilemmas this week with rocky, gresham, barlow and crouch this week. Trading rocky to libba (jumped on the Hunter bandwagon). Not sure if I should do a second trade or not. Basically have every rookie bar parish. Not sure how much of a must have Parish is given his 202K price.

      Do I,

:1: Trade Gresham to Parish , Hold Barlow
:2: Hold Gresham & Trade him for Hartley next week. (Can be done with DPP moves), Hold Barlow
      :3: Trade Barlow to Parker

Bear in mind Hartley may need to be traded in next week.

Parish is a must have in RDT I reckon, Supercoach- not so much.

Thanks guys. Good points. With the midfield depth the doggies have I guess it is inevitable the clearances will be shared around. Knowing he is in the first choice mid group is enough for me!

In SC, he's averaging 83, and on track to put on $100k over the next 3 weeks.

It's a good return, no doubt- but not necessarily worth a correction trade when the guy you're trading out will likely make $60k

In RDT though, he's averaging 100 and on track to make $165k. Delicious.

Haha Walesy, nearly had me. Even if he does get more midfield time and scores ok this weekend, next week when Mundy comes back you now have spud barlow along with his recent price drop!

      :D When he's 100 at 3 quarter time, he'll still lose cash. :D

Well was all set for the rocky-hall and Barlow- Adams. Now B.Crouch out will I still go with original plan or crouch out instead of Barlow use DPP to get Adams in fwd line

TU - original plan can use Davis as cover for crouch
TD - trade crouch out and leave Barlow (with Mundy out too)

You make a good point scoring wise. My concern with Gresham was that he has been dropped and I am not sure when he will get back in. Meanwhile Parish is getting games and making some coin.

Our team (due to time constraints we are sharing one team this year) is in a similar position to most with both Barlow and Rocky being traded out, but unfortunately the NRL guy has the team this week.
He has decided to go with Papley and Kennedy in - so leaving the team with a large wad of cash for next week (~$800k) - which I get to spend:D - thoughts?
TU - the NRL guy knows his stuff, we can make some upgrades in future weeks.
TD - We should be upgrading Rocky this week (to say Dangerfield or Ablett)
      Cheers

Just based off the numbers; Rocky will stay even but not play, Barlow will lose value this week, Gaz will rise only slightly in price this week, Danger will lose value, and both Kennedy and Papley will increase in value significantly.

To me getting in Papley and Kennedy is a much better move at this stage.

Agree with Iain, the only other consideration being possible loss of points from fielding Kennedy/Papley versus an Ablett/Dangermouse.

The way I see it there's conservatively ~150k difference (Kennedy/Papley increases + Barlow decrease) for a points differential of ~100 points.

If he's in as a keeper then it doesn't matter about the lost cash. The issue is more if someone wants to keep him for this week but still intends to trade because he's spudding it up.
If you want him long term then keep him and assume the first two weeks were more aberration and he will return to a useful former glory (something akin to 90s average) and wear the inevitable price drop but don't get too hung up about it because he's in for points.
If you don't want him long term - i.e. you have seen enough - then piss him off straight away - straight swap for best alternative forward and consider that a corrective trade.

An issue with using Barlow as a corrective trade is that you are missing the chance to do this to a rookie of choice if you've done a "Darrell I just f ed up". Personally if I were in the situation of having poor rookies I'd get rid of them before Barlow.

      My 2c.

Corrected for accuracy. Not saying it's a wrong move, but there is a less than 5% chance* that BK and Papsmear will beat PermaCapt and Danger's combined score.

*Not backed up by hard data but an "I reckon" calculation

Only able to do that with a DPP move (or if you have Barlow inexplicably in the mids) obviously. Parker sadly is not a forward otherwise he'd be in everyone's team.

I should probably point out that we couldn't afford both Ablett and Danger - it'd be one or the other + BK or Papley (you know one of those Sydney rookies which we didn't rate at the start of the season...)
But agree - giving up a few points this week.

What's your current ranking, and are you going for as high as possible overall position at the end of the season?

Also do you have any rookies that you'd be happy to trade out next week?
