    Correct thread?

I think Simon has analyzed where he fell short this year and has made a bold trade to rectify it, putting his eggs in the #1 basket as being both a short and long-term solution. He has positioned himself nicely for this draft and/or on-trading juicy picks. Lefty? Still a bit early to read his strategy, but there is bound to be some more 'WOW' on the way.

I think TiB did the right thing.
Maybe all of these comments should be moved out of this thread...

    Chooks list management

    UNTRADEABLE:

    Patrick Dangerfield

    CONFIRMED RETIREMENTS:
    Sam Mitchell
    James Kelly
    Brent Stanton

    OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR:
    Everyone else

I'm open to listening to offers on everyone on my list apart from Dangerfield. While my rebuild will be more subtle than a certain fellow two-time premiership coach, I will look more favorably on accepting less ppg in trades on the proviso that there is a trade off in me getting younger. I am happy with my squad structure, so will be looking at like for like in terms of positions in most cases

I plan to put a couple of big names on the auction block so stay tuned...

Update to include my draft picks as I'm also happy to hear offers for those.

Not really looking to trade until positions for 2018 are confirmed, but if your offer is good enough I'm happy to listen. Yet to decide who's staying or going so, in the meantime, here's the lot:

    DEF:
Tom McDonald; Luke McDonald; Alex Witherden (D/M); Luke Ryan; Tom Cutler; Nick Robertson (D/M); Jackson Ramsay; Curtly Hampton; Tom Sheridan
    MID:
Adam Treloar; Connor Blakely; Dom Sheed; Lachie Hunter; Jake Barrett; Jesse Lonergan; Luke Partington; Kobe Mutch
    FWD:
Lewis Taylor; Blake Acres (M/F); Mav Weller; Kayne Turner; Sam Lloyd; Harry McKay; Jordan Cunico (M/F); Josh Battle; Myles Poholke (M/F)
    RUCK:
    Jarrod Witts; Tom Nicholls

    Current draft picks: 5, 23, 26, 30, 41, 77 & 95

The Cows are amenable to trade opportunities. Would prefer to wait for the 2018 positions but will consider all deals presented. Please be aware that there is quite a long list of players who I would prefer were at the club in 2018 but we have to cut four. So ..................

I have a specific type of player in mind - a very good, youngish player who will be a forward in 2018. Very good means 80+ ppg and youngish means maximum of 26 years old at the start of the 2018 season. In return we would trade two good, young, proven players to secure the right person. Or, as the midfield is quite strong, there is a proven >90 points per game available. The ideal trade would be the forward I seek plus a decent draft pick for the strong mid plus a decent, emerging young player.

    Slight change of personnel tradeability:
    With likely 2018 positions indicated

Will be pretty difficult to prise away, but will listen to offers

    Steve Coniglio M
    Jarryd Lyons M
    Zachary Smith R or R/F
    Jackson Newnes D/M
    Sonny Boy Walters M/F
    Iron Fist May D
    Peaky Blinders Atkins M
    Bradley Hill M or M/F
    Hyphen Byrne-Jones D
    Shed Edwards M/F
    Big Bad Benny Brown F
    Bailey Dale M/F

Could go somewhere at varying costs to the prospective purchaser

    Iron Fist Rance D
Harley Niko Balic M or M/F but who knows
    Dave Astbury D
    Domino Tyson M
    Big Marcus Adams D
    Sam the Hairdo Naismith R
    Cal Sinclair R/F
    Kieren Jack M/F
    Walla McDonald-Tipungwuti F
    Nathan Hrovat M/F
    Kaiden Brand D
    Hyphen Vickers-Willis D
    James Parsons Project F
    Kayle Kirby F

    Out the door

    Mr Greenwood
    Mr Mackie (impending retirement)

    Have picks 8, 44, 59, 62, 80, 98

Will be more comfortable trading after 2018 positions are confirmed, but will listen to offers. Looking for a midfielder and do have excess forwards right now (and probably defenders too, but a couple might go, who knows). Interested in trading back into the second round as well. Everyone is on the table but, let's be realistic, prices vary.

I'm thinking I need to trade one of my older mids,
Brendan Goddard, Michael Rischitelli, Jordan Lewis or Nathan Jones.
All 4 will be over 30 next season. I have about 8 mids capable of playing in my best 15, and that isnt including DPP mids.
I'd like to swap one of them for a draft pick and/or a decent Fwd or Def a little younger.

I'm also looking to trade Aaron Young, who is just coming into his prime as a FWD, will turn 25 in Dec this year. A draft pick will get the job done.

Heads up for everyone, we will be going a bit earlier with the draft than we usually do next year.
    Likely to start mid Feb

    Both :)

I've always thought we should go earlier than we have traditionally done, waiting for pre-season circus rewards the lazy over the researched, and as it's my last year with the wand I figure it's time to give it a crack, but both Tracey and I are in Vietnam for the first two weeks of March so conducting the draft the way I normally do would be impossible.

If Port can take the game to China, surely we could take our draft to Vietnam

Pre season forms a valuable late breaking section of research. :)
