3/9th into the game at Xmas Island and Groote have jumped out of the blocks to be 773/8 (96.6), while the Smugglers seem to have slept through their alarm clocks to be 75/1.
Charlie Dixon has got the Buffaloes off to a flier and just after half time Serengeti lead @martyg and his Bunyips; 880/9/97.8 v 564/70.5/8
It's a close battle at the Sandpit; not like the derby tonight, Go the flat trackers! @JPK 's Prospectors 871/11/79 lead the hometown Sandgropers 721/9/80. This is a close one.
Its good that I'm leading, but how the @#$& can a 20 disposal, 6 tackle, 1 goal game from Ollie only be worth 56 points? Unbelievable!!!!!!
6/9th through the Eylandt Nation Cup and it's looking like a grandstand finish - Cudas 923/10 (92.3) versus Smugglers 793/9 (88.1). Some intra-team head-to-heads will go a long way to deciding this one - Dusty versus Cotch and Tyson versus Lewis.
The Bulls have imploded this week against their nemesis Eden. The Whalers who have run out with 13.5 players are sure things to take the 4 points from this contest. Bulls 745 / 11 / 68 Whalers 743.5 / 9 / 82
Score update from Nugget Cup IV sees @JPK 's Prospectors 1171/14/80 leading the home town Sandgropers 920/11/84. The equation is simple for Southern Cross: Crouch, Duncan, Prestia & WHE need to outscore Smith + 197. The home team should win this at a canter but what is it they say about counting your chickens?
Nearing the end of the match down in beautiful (but wet) Gisborne, an upset is on, as it's the Grenades 989/13/76.1 beating the Blowflies 823/12/68.6. Despite pre-match confidence from Korumburra they may just allow an Gisborne off the bottom of the ladder.
Game over at the Sandpit and the Sandgropers 1295/15/86 have prevailed over @JPK 's Prospectors 1214/15/81 in Nugget Cup IV. Some spud scores from both sides kept it close but Southern Cross were able to kick away in the last to even the head to head ledger at 2-2 and improve their league W/L to 3-3.
I haven't added any points up @wrightbrendan but the Bunyips have come home with a wet sail... here's hoping!!
Groote lead from start to finish to retain the Eylandt Nation Cup 1293.5 to 1200.5. Full match report to come.
In what Historians have dubbed as the battle for the Mediocre Cup, the Armadillos have scraped by against the Prairie Dogs. Neither team seemed to get out of second gear with the final scores 1147 to 1135. The backline didn't show up for the visitors as Mills top scored across the defensive line with 63. While the Mids did their job hitting their averages, Yeo's highest ever score and Membrey's ton weren't enough to compensate for passengers Shiels, Breust, Green and Howlett. For the home side it was simply unspectacular in every position really. Tom McDonald managed to raise the bat and Chad everyone wants to trade for me Wingard typified Port's performance with a 127, but nobody else really warrants a mention; other than Luke McDonald who borrowed his Dad's step ladder to compete against Sandilands in the ruck all day and scored a manful 40.
Absolutely spewing with the performances of some of my blokes - although I don't know if I can lay the blame with CD and their scoring systems, or not!?!?!?!
Looks like the dreaded "I hit save but my team didn't save" curse hit Cow Bay this weekend...not that it would have made much difference to the result
