At Bone Park the home side is in front of the visiting Vikings. Could this be the P Dogs first win of the season against the league leader? There is a lot of talent from both teams to come, looks like a close finish. At 5/9ths of the way through the game scores are:- Hughenden. 592/7/84.5 Vikings. 452/5/90.4
In a rather uninspiring contest so far it is the Buffaloes that are holding a slight advantage over the visiting Smugglers. Unusual suspects Polec (SER) and Williams (CIS) are doing their best to inspire their respective sides but at halftime it is Serengeti 664/9/73.8 v Christmas Island 436/6/72.67
Thanks @eagle_eyed, bit slack in getting the scores up. The Fox loves coming home to the paddock and Crouch has put in a stellar performance.
Its early in the last at Mill Park where the home side has narrowly hit the lead for the first time over a plucky Barcrawler outfit. Joel Selwood has stolen the show giving a big FU to its former club Banchang with 43 touches of the pill as he cranked out 154! Former Bulls in Hall, Bastinac & Ibbotson were much more respectful to their previous employer combining for 192 points. Bulls 1151 / 13 / 88 Barcrawlers 1114 / 14 / 79 This is still not beyond Banchang @choppers but the task is an uphill one and some luck will have to go their way. Adams v Salem, Fasolo & 37
7/9th the way through the match versus Gisborne with @Tomster and its all one sided towards the home side. The Grenades have Ambrose to play and the Bunyips have Pendles, Brown, Kelly, Lambert and Stanton to play. The Bunyips 801/10 ave 80.1 versus The Grenades 850/14 ave 60.7 Another low scoring affair for the Bunyips. Things need to change!
At 7/9ths time out at The Swamp and it's a tight tussle between the Crocs and Parasites. Crocs 1047/14/74.8 Parasites 902/12/75.2 From here it's: 145 points and first year player McGrath vs Sidebottom, Watson and Goddard
Early in the last quarter and it's @YAD69 's home town Barracudas 13/1012/78, leading the visiting Sandgropers 10/961/96. Can Southern Cross pull off an upset victory?
I'll need to think about this overnight, but right now ........., @tyze1 ,I think you're rubbing my nose in it....
The visting Vikings have hit the front at the 7/9ths through the game. Vikings 1066/11/96.9 Hughenden 960/12/80
Captain Dangerfield has inserted some class into this match up and given the Buffaloes a much needed boost of energy, they now lead; SER 925/12/77.1 v CIS 662/10/66.2 With Smuggler team management spending much of the game so far looking for forward Jesse White it could be a bridge too far for Christmas Island to come back in this one. But with Dustin Martin lurking around the contest it is not over till it's over!
to the contrary - its a colorful take on facts from the game! We are trying to boost membership here in the rural community of Staghorn Flat. Had Hall gone big he would have been the run to give his old employer an FU! However that is the rollercoaster that is A Hall - like a box of chocolates you never know what your gonna get!
The battle at the Terrordome between Korumburra and Coolgardie is going down to the wire. The home side are basically out on their feet with the Blowflys posting a respectable total for the Prospectors to attempt to chase down @JPK KB 1244 / 15 / 83 CP 1036 / 11 / 94 In a bizarre decision by the Coolgardie selectors, it looks like they will be 1 short on the bench for the remainder of the game unless Josh Smith miraculously appears at the Dome. Meanwhile the Prospectors had Baguley, Sicily and Parfitt listed as emergencies but all have already done their dash playing in an honourable loss in the 2's With Coolgardie in the box seat to remain undefeated vs. Korumburra, the equation stands at 209 points required (or an average of 70 a piece) from the visitors Jackson Ramsay, Cale Hooker and Orazio Fantasia...
The visiting Sandgropers 1258/13/97 have pulled away from @YAD69 's Barracudas 1105/14/79. This one looks over with Tom Phillips having to outscore Hurley + WHE + 153 points to win it for Groote.
Late in the contest the Buffaloes 1045/13/80.4 look on track for victory leading @DamoH 's Smugglers 925/13/71.5
Before we get to the recap of round 5, a very late match report of a massive round 4 contest is worth a look at (thanks gastro for the delay...) Round 4 Staghorn Flat Bulls 1384 def Serengeti Buffaloes 1323 A truly epic contest! Round 4 down in the Crater saw two ORRFU up and comers lock horns.. in what was billed as a contest that matched two sides with finals aspirations, neither team disappointed and their was a finals like intensity and performance in all areas. When there was so little to separate the two teams in a massively high scoring affair, it was the Bulls on ball brigade that proved the difference. McEvoy (102) was able to dominant young Tom Hickey (61) and the Bulls midfield extracted full use of their big man's dominance. Tom Rockliff (176) put in a truly beastful performance and was ably supported by old warrior Selwood (110). Despite Zac Merrett's (120) best efforts even Captain Dangerfield (90) could not stop the onslaught. With such quality and quantity of ball being delivered into the Bulls forward line it was inevitable that their forwards would have a great chance of putting up some big numbers and Tom Lynch (161) took full toll. With all of those opportunities being presented it would have been easy for the Bulls defenders to meekly surrender but in a gallant performance they were able to break even with the Bulls attackers led by Nick Haynes (113) and debutant Harbrow (101) who put in a magnificent debut for the Buff. Jack Riewoldt (122) was another new Buffalo to please recruiting staff, making the most of reduced opportunities and the tall Buffaloes forward line did their best to get on top of Bulls defenders and keep their side in the contest. In a position that has often been a struggle for Serengeti even Matera (159) was able to add some drive off the bench for the Buffaloes and try and turn the tide of the Bulls midfield dominance in a performance that reminded the competition that he was in fact still alive and able to play some good football. In the end though, a true epic saw @tyze1 and the Bulls hold sway and record a memorable 61 point victory. BAFFU votes (496 total points!) 3 Tom Rockliff (176) SFB 2 Tom Lynch (161) SFB 1 Brandon Matera (159) SER
Full Time at Eden Sporting Complex and Ararat have had a big win over the home side of Eden. The Whalers played well but seemed to lack something this week with no real high scorers and Curnow and Zaka missing form. Meanwhile, the Armadillos had Treloar star with 141 followed by Haus with 120 and 4 other 100+ scores. On the bright side, Leuenberger won in the ruck over an absent Wells. The Barracudas on 1,158/15 77.2 are defeated by the Sandgropers @eagle_eyed on 1,416/15 94.4 Match Report to come later, much later....... great win by the visitors.
A selection f**k up has seen the Crocs go down to the Parasites by 33 points, 1129 to 1162. Some miscommunication with the selection committee meant that Tom Boyd (60SC) was named this round and wasn't an out costing Cow Bay their 3rd win. Match report to come.
