We were only ever going to make 2 live picks in this draft, which is why 25 and 30 were of no direct use to us. Crameri and Honeychurch will be delisted free agents in the coming days

We lost badly to Carlton on that particular deal - the loss of the 2018 2nd rounder is the killer. We made a little ground back with Brisbane on the Schache deal, but it still hurts to not have a 2018 2nd, because we will need points to bid on F/S Rhylee West.

For the 2017 draft, we will use 9 and 16 and 82, with 82 being an upgrade of Roarke Smith from our rookie list.

And on a far more important note, the Quolls seem to have done good so far too.

Berry and Robinson should see more mid time with Rocky gone.
Perryman and Hopper may see more mid time with Kennedy gone.
Gibbs goes to a team that will suit his style better (sometimes they actually get the ball into their forward half).
Saad goes to a better team.
Motlop goes to Port to play alongside Dixon.

Now we just need the positioning gods to be kind and we should go alright.

Interesting comparing trade strategies to Hawks last year, who threw every trade pick and the kitchen sink away just to meet a price for O'Meara. Definitely a buyers market this year (so lol at GCS this time).

I think this will be something the league will eventually have to face up to. Too much these days is players getting tapped up by certain club up to a year or more down the line and then their club having to only trade with that one club. It doesn't really seem to benefit the selling club and can see it creating a boiling point in the future. The Northern clubs are basically turning into defacto academies for Victorian ones atm.

Either look at relaxing free agency laws to allow players more freedom to move openly, and then have tighter contracts themselves, or start cracking down harder other clubs interfering with contracted players, which is all an open secret these days.

I think the ideal situation would be the one the clubs are pushing for but the players association are strongly opposed to - clubs being able to trade players anywhere without the players having right of refusal.
If the players association want the more relaxed FA laws that they are currently pushing for, then they have no choice but to give in to clubs desire to have a truly open trading process where players don't have a say.
Currently players have clubs by the balls which isn't fair tbh.

Do you think he is an AFL level player?

His intensity is AFL level but his disposal by foot, particularly from a set shot, is not.

Probably wouldn't be an issue for us, couldn't give a shit if he never kicked a goal for us, we have plenty who can.
We need people who are committed to keeping the ball in our forward line and I reluctantly have to admit his pressure meter looks good.
