    Christmas Island - QF1

    In: D. Menzel

    D: S. Hurn (c), H. Hartlett, M. Johnson, J. Lever (T. McKenzie)
    M: D. Heppell, D. Beams, D. Martin, A. Hall (S. Grigg)

The Smugglers' medical staff have all been summarily dismissed after stating that Aaron Hall suffered a season ending hamstring injury last week. Hall has been named this week, but no-one is certain as to whether he'll be putting on the boots or not.

Serengeti v Coolgardie. 3 v 6. Mid season trade partners going head to head to keep their season's alive

    IN:
    Longer, Reiwoldt, Dangerfield
    OUT: Mumford, Witherden, Merrett

D: Steven May, Tom Langdon, Nick Haynes, Jasper Pittard (Harbrow)
M: Patrick Dangerfield, Josh Kelly, Jack Steven, Scott Selwood
    R: Billy Longer (Hickey)
F: Charlie Dixon, Joe Daniher, Jamie Elliott, Sam Reid (Smith)
I: Jared Polec, Jack Reiwoldt (Gleeson)

Controversy plagues team selection this week with both of the ex-Prospectors brought in during the mid-season trade period unable to take the field this week. Reports have been flying that @JPK is somehow responsible for the funny buggers that are going on but no proof has yet been found.

Mumford and Kennedy's absence has been exaggerated by Merrett and young star Witherden also missing from the squad which will mean the Buffaloes run out for the first finals appearance minus 4 of their top 10 players of the season. However, with Dangerfield & Reiwoldt returning from their pre-finals rest and replacement ruck Billy Longer showing some promising form in the 2's the Serengeti faithful are confident that the Buffaloes can still run out winners and continue their march through the finals.

"Decimated" seems a little extreme! You're missing a ruck and have to play someone OOP to cover him - like I did when Hartung had to play forward for me last week + you've got a top 10 forward coming back into the side in Greene! C'mon bryzza - looks like some early excuses...:p

I think you're going in favourite again this week regardless. Hope it's another cracker!

PS. I've got 3 rucks playing this week (4 really with Cox back in) and can't find spots for 2 of them! :D

Finals week 1 - Korumburra Blowflys vs Nuytsland Vikings

After last weeks epic 3 point victory by the Blowflys at the Terrordome to hold their spot in the 8 and play finals, they have to make the long trip to Nuytsland this week R o face the Vikings on their home soil in what looks to be another great game.

This time it's do or die for both teams in the ORFFU KO finals format. It's all gravy for the Blowflys after fighting their way through a massive logjam to even take part in the finals this year. We're already winners! All the pressure here is on the Vikings after a dominant season saw them sit atop the ORFFU ladder until the final game when the upset victory by the Flys last week knocked them back into second position.

With the all time record now at 2-1 to Korumburra and with both teams going through massive list rebuilds over the last few seasons, it will be interesting to see who comes out on top on the big stage!

Ex-Blowflys Greene and Motlop return for the Vikings, both hungry after missing out on last weeks nail biter. Rumours abound that the frustratingly talented Motlop will start in the Ruck this week in the absence of the suspended Grundy! An interesting tactic but you would expect Goldstein to dominate if that's the case.

Ex-Vikings Menegola and Picken look forward to challenging their old mob again this week.

One of the riskiest trades the KBFC list management team has negotiated in recent times involved the addition of aging champion Gary Ablett. A player still capable of dominating games and posting 200+ SC scores has rarely been sighted since signing on with the Blowflys and he has again let us down with a "hamstring" strain on the eve of the biggest game in the clubs history. Jayden Hunt is omitted after being well held last week and someone down back needed to make way for the return of our defensive General, Luke Hodge. Exciting young prospect Ben Ainsworth also comes back into the side after recovering from injury to add some more firepower up forward and will also rotate through the midfield.

The maestro that is Steve Johnson announced during the week that he will retire at the conclusion of this season. With Luke Hodge previously doing the same you can rest assured that both of these champions will leave everything out on the field this week in what will be their final games in the ORFFU unless the Blowflys can defeat the Vikings 2 weeks running!

    IN : L. Hodge, B. Ainsworth

    OUT : J. Hunt, G. Ablett

    D - S. Docherty, L. Hodge, J. Webster, A. McDonald-Tipungwuti (EMG. J Hunt)
    M - R. Sloane, B. Goddard, S. Menegola, J. Redden (EMG Z. Fisher)
    R - T. Goldstein (EMG B. Preuss)
    F - G. Hewett, C. Hooker, S. Johnson, B. Ainsworth (EMG M. Cox)
    I/C - L. Picken, B. Hartung

Prediction - Vikings by 112 again!

Let's hope this crazy rollercoaster is still on the way up for the mighty Blowflys!

In their maiden finals (of any type) appearance, Gisborne will line up with:

D: Ryan, Jones, Wilson, Grundy (Hamling)
    M: Neale, Billings, Steele, Stevens
    R: Brayshaw (OOP)
    F: Douglas, Casboult, McGovern, Gresham
    IC: Talia, Plowman (Ambrose)

Good luck to the teams competing in the real deal!
