Thanks Bear, appreciate the effort amigo. Love the way this guy goes about it, may be a long term pick but you guys took the swannies I wanted: pick 18: Brennan Cox, Freo, D/F
Yes, yes I am. Quietly fuming about Big Cox being taken "right in front of me!". P19 Tom Sheridan (FRE) - Sarah Island Savages
Mini woot Knightriders select a young GWS defender, flown under most radars, but won't stay thay way for long. Pick 20 - Sam Taylor GWS Def @Iain
No sign of him, or stripey for that matter. Hope both are ok, and the Chief is just recuperating and enjoying the rest! Homers going to home. I thought he was quite impressive in the trio of talls from WA u18d last year (Naughton, Allen, Taylor) but an injury-free GWS is a tough team to stay in so be interesting to see how he does. Actually regretting not having another pick, loads of good players available atm.
Yup he is extremely talented, but we don't have elite talls down back leaving Davis aside, Taylor has better disposal, more damaging rebound and is at least as good in one on ones so suspect he replaces the Mohrs, etc going forward and plays alongside Phil. From his draft year; WHY PICK HIM? Taylor is an elite intercept marking defender, and has already drawn comparisons to Essendon legend Dustin Fletcher and Richmond star Alex Rance. He reads the flight of the ball exceptionally well in defence, and his marking ability is elite. THE QUESTION MARKS? Taylor is still pretty light for a key defender, and as such he may need to take a bit more time than others to play. However according to former Swan Districts League Coach, Greg Harding, “once an AFL club gets hold of him and puts a couple of pre-seasons into him, he’s going to develop into a really nice size and shape.” His kicking could also improve, but once he is in an AFL system, it would easily be fixed. THE WRAP Sam Taylor is one of the best key defenders in this year’s draft pool. Despite being lightly framed, Taylor’s reading of the play and marking ability make him a gun prospect in this year’s Draft.
"Actually regretting not having another pick, loads of good players available atm." So true Port, so true. Very happy having three more picks in this draft - in fact the potential quality may make the last pick difficult. Had planned on de-listing two more but chickened out - regretting that decision already.
Sam Taylor - have to admit I was hoping he would be there at #36. Hard to draft these talents when Molly's gws supporting mate is around.
There is a decided orange deficit currently in the Knightriders, these FL types are too into the tsunami
True Len, true. The glamas have two westerners (Davis and Bonar) which is two more than the cows. The former has sure stepped up this year. Will we get to see the latter at afl level this year?
yep, has good explosion from contest and a decent user, lack of a tank is holding him out, but he is coming on nicely in that regard.
If I am following the draft properly we are up to @Jason followed by @stripey (who was an autopick in round 1)
