Adel Lynch has given a big FU to his previous employer pumping out 121 to hand an early lead to the Bulls EW 93/2/47 SFB 121/1/121 @HOLKY
Slow start for Gisborne with some injury concerns to boot. The Blowflys have stormed out the blocks and it looks like this might already be over @Mick 306/4/76.5 302/3/100.7
Captain Danger doing his best to inspire the troops Early on in The Crater it's the Buffaloes 227/2/114 leading the Bunyips 140/2/70 @martyg
A “leading from the front” 125 to Heppell and a “I’m surprisingly good at this ruck thing” 41.5 from Jayden Hunt, have seen the Smugglers take the lead 215.5-188 with both sides having three players take the field.
Bulls starting to break free as another ex Whaler gives the previous employer an even bigger FU - Zaka with 135 EW 161/3/54 SFB 338/3/113 @HOLKY
The Sandgropers (548/6/91) have extended their margin over @JPK ‘s Prospectors (153/2/76) to 395 points. Could this be a 4th straight Nugget Cup victory for Southern Cross? No really, does anyone know what the record is? I’m pretty certain I’ve won the last three but maybe wrong. Go ‘Gropers!
The Buffaloes look like they have remembered how to play football and are dominating early against the ‘Yips Serengeti 524/5/105 lead Blanchetown 267/4/67 @martyg
Now I've lost J Short too, possibly for a few weeks. There's list management, then there's just terrible luck! Bugger....
A good hard fought game is being played out at King Island's home ground but the visiting Crocs currently hold an 8 point lead. Monarchs 846 / 11 / 76.9 Crocs 854 / 9 / 94.9
The home side have pulled further away, with Southern Cross (1105/13/85) now leading @JPK ’s Coolgardie (622/9/69) by 483 points; albeit with an extra 4 scorers. It’s not quite over yet but it’s fast slipping away for the Prospectors who’ll likely need their final 6 players to score 660 odd points combined to win the match. Go ‘Gropers!
The Island Nations’ Cup looks to be returning to Groote after a couple of stand-out performances from Cripps (157) and Jake Lloyd (130). GEB - 991/12 (82.6) CIS - 863.5/12 (72) Can Aaron Hall, Isaac Smith and Geary overcome the Bont, Naugton, Gowers and a 127.5 point deficit? Of course they can’t, but we’ll keep saying that this one isn’t over and teams can “kick a goal a minute” so you don’t change the channel. @YAD69
Madness in Gisborne! After a slow start with 300 points from the first 4 players, the Grenades have come out and said "I'm Angus/Kane/Lachie Brayshaw/Lambert/Neale (not so much you James Harmes) and this comp is too easy!" Those four scored a combined 510(!) points over Friday and Saturday, flipping the match on its head, so the Grenades are now 816/8/102. The Blowflys were resigned to watch the Western shootout that was happening in the opposition colours, so despite being a very handy 763/9/84.8 are trailing with Sunday to go. Coach Tomster called the game over after Thursday's matches, so won't make the same mistake, and Coach @Mick might have particularly good spray to rev up his men.
The final Bulls ex whaler has given their previous club an FU with Maynard dishing out 110. A bloodbath over on the coast @HOLKY Bulls 1387 Whalers 964
Southern Cross (1262/15/85) retain the Nugget Cup with a 184 point victory over @JPK ’s Prospectors (1078/15/72). Match report to follow. Go ‘Gropers!
