Grenades have gone hard early and continue a strong start to the year (finally). Eden look set for one of there better weeks for the year with some guns still to come but have left themselves with some work to do @HOLKY

    GG 1121/12/93.4
    EW 706/9/78.4

In other news, the BAFFU report should be out sometime this week!

It’s late in the third at the Sandpit and the home side has wrested back the lead with Southern Cross (901/11/82) now 232 points in front of @Batfink ‘s Hughenden (669/9/74). A tough task could get even tougher if, as expected, neither Harry Morrison nor Brennan Cox suit up for the P Dogs.

    Go ‘Gropers!

The Panthers @TigersTooTough are on 1,312/14 93.7 to the visiting Cudas 787/9 87.4

The home side only have Curnow to come while the Cuda's have Weitering, corn boy Cripps, Stanley, Hawkins and Petrucelle.
    The chase is on!

Things have tightened up at The Crater with Josh Kelly and Jeremy Cameron showing a productive combination but David Mundy’s heroics mean that the Blowflys will head into the final term with the advantage.

    Korrumburra 1052/12/88 lead Serengeti 1000/12/83

We're now 7/9th of the way through the game in Coolgardie, and the visitors are beginning to wane, but are still leading by so much that this scribe doesn't think its going to matter. @choppers

    Coolgardie: 748.5 / 12 / 62.4
    Banchang: 1118 / 13 / 86

    Still to come we have
Coolgardie: J Sicily (anything could happen), J Smith or half of L Duggan (assuming Smith doesn't make the cut), and J O'Meara (who hopefully has an absolute blinder and scores 300 points!)
Banchang: J Impey, L Dahlhaus, and a lead of 369.5 points

With not a single score over 100, the locals are getting flogged all over the ground, while the clubhouse leaders are all LadyBoys
    M Robinson (125), B Cunnington (119), and T Adams (104)

In what turned out to to be a much closer contest than first looked likely, Korrumburra, led by Gary Ablett turning back the clock, have run out winners 1361 - 1286

    Match report to follow.

Well, Sicily did well, Duggan did shit (but he definitely wan't alone there), and Jaeger was on target for 300 points at half time, but fell away to only score 132, while Impey and Dahlhaus were both better than serviceable, leading the visitors to a resounding 239 point win over the locals.

    Coolgardie: 1037 / 15 / 69.1 (two half scores)
    Banchang: 1276 / 15 / 85.1

Congrats to @choppers on leading the CarBrawlers to the win.

S Martin lead C Sinclair in the big tap award, 93-32

    The votes:
    3 - J O'Meara, Coolgardie, 132
    2 - J Sicily, Coolgardie, 127
    1 - M Robinson, Banchang, 125

Southern Cross (1249/15/83) hold on to beat @Batfink ’s Hughenden (1130/15/75) by 119 points. A no-show in the forward line and an OOP ruck definitely didn’t help the visitors cause.

    Match report to follow.

Gisborne Grenades 1385 defeated Eden Whalers 1156 @HOLKY

Shortened report this week, apologies loyal readers, but after the success of his team coach Tomster has been on and will continue on a week long bender so is not as eloquent as usual.

    Gisborne:
5 wins in a row (previous best streak 3). Top score in the comp for the second week running. 5 and 1 for the first time in history. Most total points in the FU. LIDS: OFF
    [IMG]

    Eden:
Unfortunately lacked consistency, with too many low scores to really make a difference. Some gun young players who could take the next step in a few years, but 2019 could be a long year otherwise. Pendlebury is a proven gun, Williams and Curnow are young guns to carry the team in the future. Wins here and there should keep spirits high but finals probably a reach this year.

    That is all
    The train is now departing

Fresh from having treatment for the RSI in my hands from 4 match reports in 5 rounds, here goes nothing

Round 5 report - AA vs PP

In a somewhat dour affair the Armadillos survived some ass-puckering moments to defeat the Parasites 1213 to 1169.

From the backs, Johannisen and Blicavs were up for the fight, peeling off 97 & 94, and Moore continued his great 2019 with a solid 79. Two first names Oscar Allen managed a 57 to keep with Pakenhams curious strategy - as many players scoring a 7 as possible. The coach’s message was definitely heard, unlike Brad Scott's, with 7 players scoring with a 7.
The aforementioned JJ, Moore & Allen kicked it off, then Gaff nailed 97, Sidebottom 67, Butters 74. Full 10 coaches votes went to Lance Franklin who gave his all and managed 77. McDonalds BOG award coming his way.

Armadillos were again bailed out by the backline with Rich (99) continuing his scoring spike due to the modified kick-in rules.
Treloar had sore arms from raising the bat thrice; 150 is a solid knock.
mumble mumble forward line shit mumble all dropped mumble the peoples beard 126.

All in all a game that had as much excitement as this match report.

Staghorn Flat Bulls 1227 Def Blanchetown Bunyips 1033

Staghorn move into 3rd whilst the Yips are firmly entrenched at the bottom of the ladder. Whilst we are excited by the chances of getting the 1st pick in the MSD, I would much rather be competitive and looking at playing finals.

Whilst Staghorn got the win in easily, they are now sweating over the prognosis on a couple of their stars, Whitfield and Coniglio. @tyze1 the coach of Staghorn was complaining about the amount of rocks on the field in his post match conference, us here in Blanchetown see it as a homeground advantage yet to be put to full use.

The visitors didn't have any massive scores this week but a team of consistent achievers, all scoring close to or above their ave. Whilst the homeside are excited by Cameron's 114 and hoping on more big scores in the future, just not having a full team is always going to be tough.

BOG - McEvoy - 3 and Big Tap winner
    Cameron - 2
    Hill - 1

Next week the Bulls are hosting the red hot Vikings whilst the Bunyips are on the road and playing Prairie Dogs
