    Sorry about that @bryzza

In one of the games of the season, Nuytsland defeated Korumburra 1396 v 1358.

The Vikings rightly moved to the top of the table, firming as favourites for the ORFFU flag this year. Meanwhile the Blowflys slide out of the top 4, all the way down to 8th - still clinging to a finals spot...

    Match report to come

Blanchetown Bunyips 1137 Defeated Christmas Island Smugglers 1111

The battle of the cellar dwellers, 13 v 17. What could two teams so far out of the 8 be playing for? Pride, confidence or top draft picks. The coaching staff of the Bunyips were definitely playing for pride even though the head coach was overheard mumbling about asking the ORFFU for a priority pick.

The Bunyips went into the game fielding 13 players and hopeful of getting a higher PSD pick, but it wasn't to be. CIS had a few tricks up their sleeve to ensure the visitors kept their high draft picks alive. Outstanding performances from JJK (7), Lever (37) and out of position Daniels (49) really helped the visitors keep their hopes alive. A couple of the homeside players didn't fully understand the coaches game plan and went on to score game high scores Dunstan (132), Cameron (125) and Steele (120) which all but sunk the coaches dreams of tanking.

ROB was very underwhelming against an inform Kruezer outscoring him 119 to 73.

Thanks @DamoH for crushing our dreams yet again and allowing us to continue on our mediocre ways in 2019!

also, sorry for no updates, usual story, kids, RL etc etc

Hughenden Prairie Dogs 1,198 def Coolgardie Prospectors 1,152

Hughenden were able to hang on for narrow victory at the Dino Dome by 46 points, who

It was a close game all day and it wasn’t until the last quarter when Hughenden finally took control through the efforts of DBJ (130) and new recruit Cameron (87) following the late withdrawal of Duursma. Hughenden again went into the game without a Ruck, with Greenwood (45) battling hard against Martin (86) to try and get his hand on the ball for the midfield. It was fairly even through the middle of the ground for both sides with Wines(106) and Yeo(116) the only real highlights.

The Prospectors bench were more effective than some of the starting line up with Aish (100) and Clark (120) showing they are worthy of more game time. For Hughenden AMT (135) was unstoppable and appears to be the barometer of Hughenden, if he is playing well he drags the team along for the ride.

Overall it was AMT & DBJ who were the difference and secured a Hughenden win for what was otherwise a dour contest which confirmed the teams’ relative positions on the table.

    BAFFU Awards
    3 AMT, Hughenden (135)
    2 DBJ, Hughenden (130)
    1 Clark, Prospectors (120)

The Buff came but weren't able to conquer, getting quagmired in The Swamp and trudged away with a 114 point loss.

It wasn't a great start for Serengeti when Josh Kelly didn't make the trip and Ben Brown had to fill in as the visiting big tapper. But Danger tried valiantly all day notching up BOG honours with a 163 point effort. The problem was, other than Merrett and Gleeson helping out, almost half the visiting team recorded scores of under 75. It didn't help that Brown's original 143 point effort got cut in half either. The good news was that 2019 draftees Bailey Smith (69) and Tarryn Thomas (76) are already making an impact at their new club in their first year and will provide some much needed scoring power in the middle for years to come.

Cow Bay on the other hand recorded a much improved performance from last week. With McKenna (113) having turned his form around from pre-bye, Connor managed to be best on for the Crocs. Lycett put in a half arsed effort all day and was almost upstaged by Brown. The outs of Martin and Gunston gave Bolton (112) a run and a chance to claim his first BAFFU votes, however, McCarthy (56) continues to embarrass the Crocs with sub par efforts. The score breakdown was almost a mirror image of the 2 sides wit Cow Bay having just 4 below average scores.

    upload_2019-7-15_14-42-15.png

For Serengeti, the loss means it's now 7 in a row, the equal 15th longest in FU history and 3 short of the club's longest streak of 10. It was the team's first loss to Cow Bay ever. With just 3 wins next to their name the Buff remain in 16th. Next week they return home to take on 2nd placed Gisborne.

Cow Bay recorded their 5th win in a row, the best in their history ever, and 10th for the season. Based on history, 1 more win secures a finals spot (I've got a little bit of analysis around this to share at the end of the season). Next week Cow Bay will remain at home to host the 13th placed Bunyips.

    Big Tap
    Lycett (86) def Brown (72)

    BAFFU
    3
    Dangerfield, Serengeti, 163
    2 McKenna, Cow Bay, 113
    1 Bolton, Cow Bay, 112

One for the ORFFU historians amongst us - how many times has the team who scored the most points won the premiership? Asking for a friend...

Full Time at the Eden Sporting Complex and it was a surprisingly good match. Tarrant stole the show with a career-high 160 as one of 15 players to top 100 including new recruits Casboult and Zurhaar. Baker went missing again but Jenkins was able to fill in but the Barracudas were just able to take the win with Mihochek carrying the forward line. This keeps them in track for finals while the Whalers continue to be the strongest looking bottom team since 2017 Lions.
    BAFFU: Tarrant 3, Atkins 2, Zorko/Mihochek 1
Giant Tap: Stanley 77 def Soldo 56

    Looking at H&A season points scored, hasn't happened....yet, (although I don't have 2014 stats).

Below is the current annual team rank stats I post end of year, also broken down by points scored across position. Previous FU Premiers have a black box around their total points positional rank. Biggest changes so far this year are:
    Movers:
    +10, Gisborne
    +8, Staghorn Flat
    +7, Cow Bay
    +5, Banchang

    Sliders:
    -14, Xmas Island
    -9, Serengeti
    -6, Coolgardie, Southern Cross

Previous number 1 ranked sides for total points have finished:
    2018 - Southern Cross, 5th
    2017 - Nuytsland, 3rd
    2016 - Ararat, 2nd
    2015 - King Island, 3rd

    Bulls Parasites Match Review @ddsaints

Mill Park put on another dark gloomy wet and overall a shitzenhouse day as Pakenham made the 4 hours trip from the burbs.

The game offered little on paper as the Bulls 9-4 went into the clash against the Parasites 3-10 as short price favorites.

The game was a dour affair the conditions not conducive to a high quality match and this was reflected with only 2086 points scored on the day. injuries also played a part as the Bulls lost their main man in the guts Coniglio for the season with a knee injury whilst Moore went twang for the parasites.

They say a close match is a good match and thats exactly what happened here with Sidebum (116) and Man Mountain Marshall (119) keeping the parasites alive with Lukosius showing his future potential and when Coniglio went down and McCluggage was a late out anything was possible.

For the Bulls Whitfield returned with 101, Hill defied the conditions and his normal aversion to getting grubby with 105 whilst Lynch put in his best game for the season for 103. McEvoy (102) won the big tap over the OOP Newnes.

The rest was forgettable as the Bulls tip toed over the line 1076 - 1010 winners.

    3 - Marshall PAK
    2 - Sidebum PAK
    1 - B Hill SFB

    Big Tap McEvoy

UPDATE from The Stadium. Banchang v Christmas Island @DamoH
The coaches of both teams had the same idea and only sent out a midfielder to tag each other with the visiting Dyson Heppell 95 getting the chocolates over Banchang's Hugh Greenwood 60.

Some of the more experienced Buffaloes have got the home side off to a good start while Gisborne are adjusting slowly to the change in climate. Early on it’s Serengeti who hold the advantage

    Serengeti 283/3/94 v Gisborne 134/2/67

The Amarillo's @insider and Barracuda's decided to hold a beer drinking contest to start us off, unfortunately no one remembers who one that so there's been a delay in kick off.
