    @HOLKY @TigersTooTough @Tomster

    With only one player left each it’s a very simple equation. Crozier with the benefit of a 34 point head start has to outscore Andrews to keep Southern Cross’s late run for finals run. A win still won’t guarantee a finals appearance, Gisborne will need to defeat Pearcedale for everything to align.

    Go ‘Gropers! Go Grenades!

    In a very uninspiring 2nd half display by the home side, Ararat have stormed home over Banchang to win 1356 (90.4) to 1127(75.1).
    The main culprits for the locals, being Hanley Suckling Wright and Lloyd who could only av. 45.2 between them while everybody's rascal, Mitch Robinson 132, tried all day and young upcoming defender Noah Answerth compiled 77 down back.
    Ararat had winners all over the park with Treloar 177 leading the way.

    Korumburra have defeated Pakenham 1204 v 1079 at the Terrordome @ddsaints

    The silly season has started immediately for the visiting Parasites, getting quickly re/dehydrated post match with their old sparring and trading partners back at the Blowfly clubrooms before moving on to the infamous watering holes of the Korumburra main drag.

    Some sore heads await both sides as the Parasites contemplate the next step of their rebuild / off season partying, while the Blowflys still have dreams of going one better than last year, eagerly awaiting the announcement of their first finals opponent...

    Full time at Eden Sporting Complex (remind me to come up with a better name in post-season) and the Sandgropers have just earned their way into finals winning 1305 to 1271. The boys fired up this week determined that if we don't make it, we can at least ruin someone's season. Williams led the way with 126 and the interchange did well with Amon also topping the 100. The Gropers came with an improvised forward line but Hibberd really made the difference scoring 52 above average. All in all, we didn't win but at least we made the Gropers earn it. Best of luck for them in the finals.

    Round 19 Southern Cross Sandgropers 1190 defeated @TigersTooTough ’s Pearcedale Panthers 1152

    In what was a must win match for both clubs the home side rallied from a half time deficit to run out victors by 38 points. With 6 scores under 50 the Sandgropers did everything in their power to stuff things up but 6 tons from the remaining 9 players got them over the line. Selwood top scored with 145, Prestia 128 continued his impressive season, Darling 123, Stringer 113, Duncan 110 and Fyfe 104 rounded out the bests for the home side. The Panthers were very consistent with no scores under 50 however the lack of players cracking 100 eventually told, with only the diminutive Daniel 107 and high flying Howe 100 raising their bats.

    Southern Cross were ripe for the taking in this match playing two OOP forwards and with a ruck scoring 13 points, however the Panthers weren’t able to make their advantage count. The win sets up two tantalising final round matches with Pearcedale needing the W against Gisborne to stay in the 8 and Southern Cross needing the W against Eden coupled with a Pearcedale loss.

    I just realised that the Vikings finished first even though Tom Mitchell has been injured all year... Nuytsland next year is a very scary prospect

    Swings and roundabouts mate, assuming players keep there averages or improve yes but as we all know players averages fluctuate. Cheers for the vote of confidence lets wait and see, plenty of teams can win on any given day.

    Blame the fixturing?
    Why not? I think the guy who put the fixture together is an idiot who rigged it completely (but not in his own favor!)

    Definitely a case for this actually, had the lowest points against in the whole league. Although I guess you do need some luck to win a premiership...
