Here it is guys, the thread for the 2019 PSD Lucky Find which is looking more like the Rising Star but that is still not always the case. Last year we saw a clash of styles, the new recruit vs the returning veteran. This year, we have contenders in both categories. A notable contender is Anthony Miles looking to take another shot after almost winning in 2015. As for the new kids, it could be anyone. Sam Walsh has a lot of hype but with the exception of 2017, 1st picks haven't done well. (Mind you, that's an unfair assumption given Petracca and Hopper had injuries) First round to follow
Picked up by HPD @Batfink at pick 44 Xavier Duursma (NAB Draft pick 18) scores 67 in round 1 is my nomination.
Still going through some bugs with my spreadsheet so if I've made an error here, just let me know: 2019 PSD Lucky Find R1 Votes: A. Miles (KOR) 5 A. Kennedy (BAN) 4 J. Ridley (SER) 3 J. Clark (CBC) 2 S. Walsh (BLA) 1 (Scott, Davis and Parker missed the votes) Total: A. Miles (KOR) 5 A. Kennedy (BAN) 4 J. Ridley (SER) 3 J. Clark (CBC) 2 S. Walsh (BLA) 1 Miles getting out of the blocks well again and Kennedy already doing better than last time. A few players missing selection but that happens with untested talent.
2019 PSD Lucky Find R2 Votes: B. Mihochek (GRT) 5 A. Kennedy (BAN) 4 M. Parker (GIS) 3 Z. Butters (PAK) 2 C. Rozee (BBU) 1 (Collins missed the votes) Total: A. Kennedy (BAN) 8 A. Miles (KOR), B. Mihochek (GRT) 5 J. Ridley (SER), M. Parker (GIS) 3 J. Clark (CBC), Z. Butters (PAK) 2 S. Walsh (BLA), C. Rozee (BBU) 1 It's pretty much always close with regards to placings in this comp. In this case, 5 points between Kennedy's 90 for 4 votes and Rozee's 85 for 1.
2019 PSD Lucky Find R3 Votes: C. Rozee (BBU) 5 S. Walsh (BBU) 4 S. Mumford (SOU) 3 B. Smith (SER) 2 B. Gowers (GRT) 1 (Collins and Davis missed the votes, they were tied too) Total: A. Gowers (GRT) 1 Close pack still, much more like 2017 than 18.
2019 PSD Lucky Find R4 Votes: S. Walsh (BBU) 5 S. Mumford (SOU) 4 S. Collins (ARA) 3 B. Smith (SER) 2 J. Ridley (SER) 1 Ridley in W def Duursma in L (Hore and Davis missed the votes) Total: S. Butters (PAK) 2 B. Gowers (GRT) 1 A bit early to call but it looks like the main chase could be Walsh v Mumford. Will it be 3rd time lucky for the Sandgropers?
2019 PSD Lucky Find R5 Votes: B. Mihochek (GRT) 5 S. Walsh (BBU) 4 J. Hately (STG) 3 J. Thurlow (KIM) 2 S. Mumford (SOU) 1 (Hore and Kent missed the votes) Total: S. Walsh (BLA) 14, B. Butters (PAK), J. Thurlow (KIM) 2 B. Gowers (GRT) 1 Sam Walsh averaging more in the first 5 rounds than Tim Kelly did last year. Mihochek close behind despite only polling in 2 games, history shows that each winner also polled in the most or equal most games but Mihochek could break the mold there.
