@JPK - Did we decide on a deadline for when changes can be made each round? Or is it a rolling lockout as long as we aren't trying to use a loop hole. Very unsure about my ruck situation and of course Essendon isn't playing until last match of the round!
Worsfold today..... With McKernan to return to a key post in attack, Worsfold guaranteed last week's debutant Sam Draper would play but was unable to confirm Tom Bellchambers would hold his place.
Yeah, its essentially a rolling lockout. Basically until all teams are named (not squads). There's some flexibility to make changes all the way through... but yes, loopholing is severely frowned upon.
Sorry guys for lack of match reports. My brain has been in melt down recently. I’ll endeavor to post reports from now on in. Unfortunately I’m not as creative and exciting as some others match reports. You blokes rock. But I’ll do my best.
TRADE ALERT: Just putting this out there for all the ruck-less ORFFU coaches, with only 5 more rounds til 2021 trade season commences... 31yo Callum Sinclair (SYD), back from injury, is averaging 101 in his last 3 games, and will be the No1 ruck next year, with Naismith not due back til the latter part of the season, and will be on the trade table. There is a strong possibility that 25yo Darcy Cameron (R/F) av 82 in his last 3, might also be available for trade. No trading is permissable now but if either player grabs your interest, then PM me to start meaningful discussions.
Lucky enough to be there yeah but don't know for how long though....and now Sicily has gone down... And our TS Donor team with TTH, JPK, Len, Anthak, leading the way is sitting 15th overall. And are 2467 this round, with Dusty still to come.
@JPK With the structure being announced and SC playing and final structure in what is ORFFU thinking in terms of our regular season and finals structure? My initial thoughts were that the last minor round is Round 15 (yep the big bye round) and then 3 week knock out final series, thoughts?
My initial thoughts differ to those listed above. With 6 AFL clubs having the bye in Rd15, I would like to see ORFFU have a bye for all teams in Rd15, and then play Rd16-18, as normal, with the team finishing top of the ladder crowned ORFFU Premier for 2020, same as the English Premier League. Every team will have then played each other once, which I believe is a necessity in a compromised season, such as the one we are experiencing this year. If we play finals from Rd16-18, instead of the last 3 H/Away games, then the 10 teams who miss out on the finals won't have the opportunity to climb the ladder, or drop down the ladder, which may have an influence on the upcoming 2021 Pre-season Draft.
There is 18 rounds of AFL football this season, and we need 17 of those rounds to ensure that each ORFFU club plays eachother once. AFL round 15 does look like a mess. Why do they do this to us??? I guess the two options are: Play ORFFU in AFL round 15 (with 6 clubs having the bye), which gets all ORFFU teams having played against all others at the end of AFL round 17, and then have a single grand final match in AFL round 18 between the top two ranked teams. Have an ORFFU bye at AFL round 15 to minimise the upset, and have no grand final, with the team on the top of the ladder at the end of AFL round 18 (17 completed games of ORFFU) crowned the <asterisks> 2020 Premiers. What does everyone think?
With those 2 options listed then I will go with Option#1, as some teams have been harder hit than others, with the byes so far, and this will even it out "somewhat" and it then allows for a Grand Final to be played..... Option #1 for me.
I vote for option 1 as well. I think it's fairer that all FU teams get affected by all AFL club byes so I'd say we play in round 15 and go with one FU finals weekend
