I'm in a kind and considerate mood, so anyone who wants to make some last-minute delists can go for it.
With the commish’s blessing, Ararat delist Curtis Taylor and Jay Rantall. The club thanks them for their efforts and note that they have a chance to be picked up again with one of the 3 spots we take to the mid season draft
Gents, I thought it was 2000 for delistments as per the post. Not throwing a spanner in the works, but we all had PLENTY of time to desist!
I'm trying to be a good person, more kind and considerate. Maybe the hard and fast rule is just easier. If I need an excuse for last night, it was that the original cutoff didn't clash with an actual game of footy. Sorry
It’s all good with me really. I was way late. They barely missed cut off No need to be sorry mate. You’re doing a ripper job.
was not only commissioner ratified, but there’s also no timeline in this thread. Tree-forest-falling-anyone? If it’s some big drama then I’m sure both @eagle_eyed and myself are quite happy to reverse the delists. Further, if we’re going to be enforcing every single rule (that doesn’t negatively affect anyone) to the letter then the commissioner/board needs to decide on the fate of several coaches; the rules stipulate match reports when you’re the home team, and a lack of effort and inclusion can result in being removed from the league. So let’s all either get fair dinkum and kick serial offenders out, or let’s continue to give allowances for people dealing with “new normal” and a pandemic in different ways. My preference is the latter
Im all good mate, no issues and actually like the flexibility as it didn't impact the draft. What my point probably was, we have all had a shit tonne of time to decide who to delist, why leave it until after the cut off? If its because people forgot, ran out of time etc then meh... bend the rules. But, if it's because you were hanging onto players, trying to get a deal done and reluctantly delist players after the cut off, then its BS. Im assuming it just the time issue and again, no harm no foul.
