I am mindful that increasing finals positions by 50% increases greatly the chance for teams at the middle or bottom to qualify for finals, but it also means 6 teams miss out on a week of games. No vote needed but have your say in the discussion below and a change will be made if supported.
I think 8 rounds with top 4 got a few reasons but I’m not sure they’re good ones, so I’ll keep them to myself at the moment. And this is coming from someone who has perennially finished 5th every year!
I'm not fussed either way. If the majority goes with top four that's easy. Hopefully one day we can do a 17-round, top 8 finals series in a few years when they're FT...
I favour a top 4, but assume somebody must have posed the question. With such a short AFLW season we would have an imbalance between games and finals. However, when AFLW becomes a full 20+ season, this could possibly be revisited.

This is meant to allow for replacement of a club's best player should they be unavailable, although it is also able to be used to replace the 10th-14th to 14 best as well. The value of end of 4th round compensation for 2022 season A was questionable due to increasing keeper numbers and this change would partially rectify this, allowing for the further increase of an additional 2 keepers for the upcoming season weakening the Free Agent pool. In previous season's this is seldom used but may push back the premier's 3rd round pick from #36 to early 40's. If others think the change is not needed then speak up, in this thread prior to August 10 as rule changes are not intended to be imposed. Secondly Morwell/Legana have struggled since day dot. To incentivise a new coach to take on a wooden spoon team that was 2 games behind 11th place in an 8 game, top 4 make finals season, I would note that per the discretion under ORFFW rules assistance would be permitted and also recommend that Legana be provided with 2 priority picks following round 3 of the 2022B Preseason Draft, and that to keep to list sizes to the maximum of 22 they forfeit their 7th and 8th round selections in the 2022B Preseason Draft. Again if others think the Legana draft pick recommendation is not reasonable then please speak up in this thread (or by text or pm) prior to August 10, given we want the draft thread and final draft order fixed ahead of the 17 August draft.
Hi all, I have been in contact with @MOrffw on twitter about joining the keeper league and was told to post here. Would love to join, I started AFLW fantasy last year with Moreira's Magic's site and really enjoyed it.
Now that we have a full compliment on board (Across various time zones) how does a 9pm (Melb time) check in and a 10 past 9 start sound for the draft on August 17? As per previous advice the aim is to complete 5 rounds live, subject to a time limit of 5 minutes per pick, which should take roughly 2-3 hours depending on speed of picks, Technology wise I will leave it for to others to discuss the easiest solution whether it will be held solely on TS or supported by Zoom, Teams, Discord or other such platform, and to test prior to the event as needed.
