    dmandrews’ Lake St Clair Devils (6 wins, 0 losses) vs @PeterW 's Timboon Trailblazers (0-6)

    The last time these two teams met the Trailblazers on the road upset the Devils by 267 points in last season’s Grand Final to reach the summit and win the ORFFW premiership. Things have gone awry for Timboon in dramatic fashion this season and they are yet to record a win in 2023 with their best player and reigning league best and fairest winner Kiara Bowers only playing three of a possible six games due to a knee injury. The Devils have rebounded from last season’s GF loss to be in ominous form, winning their first six games of the season and rank first for points scored to qualify for the 2023 finals. Will the 2023 form of both team’s continue, resulting in the Devils recording a comfortable victory or can the Trailblazers upset the Devils again?

    @Chloe ’s Junee Jets (1-5) vs @Len ’s Bathurst Belles (2-4)

    With the Jets and Belles out of finals contention both sides will be playing for pride and fringe players will be keen to perform well to enhance their prospects of being retained by their club as a keeper for the 2024 season. Belles forward Laura Gardiner has been incredible in 2023 to poll 27 votes out of a maximum 30 in the league best and fairest to lead by three votes from Pomona midfielder Ebony Marinoff. The Jets are the only team with two players in the top nine of the league best and fairest with midfield duo Anne Hatchard equal sixth (19 votes) and Ally Anderson equal eighth (18 votes).

    @Schmitty ’s Wongan Hills Wallabies (3-3) vs @YAD69 ’s Eastern Park Demons (1-5)

    Wongan Hills rank fourth for points for after Round 6 but haven’t fared as well in head to battles and are seventh on the ladder with three wins and three losses. The Wallabies can improve their chances of making the finals with a victory against Eastern Park and bring their strong points for position further into play. The bad news for the Wallabies is that they are at the back of a five team pack fighting it out for third and fourth spots. The good news is that unlike the teams placed third to sixth the Wallabies play teams out of finals contention in both Rounds 7 and 8, finishing the season against the Galahs who are currently ninth. The Demons have scored 850+ in Rounds 4 and 5 and will be hoping to recapture that form to enhance their chances of causing an upset against Wongan Hills.

    @TheTassieHawk ’s Manildra Mystix (6-0) vs @ver_redit_optatum ’s Glenbrook Galahs (1-5)

    Looking at their respective win-loss records you might think that the ninth placed Galahs with one win would be no match for the undefeated Mystix who are second on the ladder and have already qualified for the finals. Last week Manildra scored 917 and had an eight point win against the Valkeries whilst the Galahs scored 882 points to have their first victory of the season, defeating the Trailblazers by 99 points. If both teams perform at a similar level in Round 7 the Galahs will well and truly be in the contest and have a shot at recording their second win a row.

    @anthak ’s Pomona Wood Nymphs (5-1) vs @That KI Guy 's Vivonne Bay Valkeries (4-2)

    Having narrowly missed the ORFFW finals several times, the third placed Pomona Wood Nymphs can book their ticket to the 2023 finals by having a victory at home against the fourth placed Vivonne Bay. The Valkeries face a more difficult equation and need to have a road win against Pomona this week followed by a Round 8 victory at home against Katanning Krushers to lock in a finals berth. Even if Pomona lose to the Valkeries they will have a second chance in Round 8 to record their sixth win of 2023 to lock in a finals spot but they will be trying to avoid going down this path as they finish the home & away season on the road against the ladder leading Devils. If Vivonne Bay lose in either Round 7 or Round 8 they will have to rely on some other results going their way to make the finals.

    @Tracey ’s Scone Sirens (3-3) vs @FreoDockers' Katanning Krushers (4-2)

    After Round 4 the Scone Sirens ranked third in the ORFFW for points for but were seventh on the ladder with one win and three losses. With back-to-back victories the Sirens have levelled the ledger at three wins and three losses to rise to sixth on the ladder and have maintained their third ranking for points for. In Round 7 the Sirens host the fifth placed Krushers who have one more win than Scone but have an inferior points for, meaning that the winner of this game will be higher on the ladder at the end of the round than their opponent. The Krushers are in a similar position to the Valkeries who they travel to play in Round 8. The Krushers with four wins, two losses and 5,126 points for have the same win-loss record as the Valkeries and trail by two points in the points for column. Destiny for the Krushers remains in their own hands and if they can defeat the Sirens and Valkeries in the last two rounds of the 2023 home and away season they will play finals.

    Lake St Clair Devils Round 7 team

    No change

    Def: Angelique Stannett, Meghan McDonald, Meara Girvan (Georgia Clayden)

    For the first time in 2023 Lake St Clair have an unchanged team as they attempt to increase their winning sequence to seven games. The Devils at home play Timboon Trailblazers who are the most recent side to defeat Lake St Clair, having done so in comprehensive fashion in last season’s Grand Final.

    The Wallabies @Schmitty finish on 910/13 70.0 to the Demons on 774/13 59.5

    In a stunning revelation the Demons has sacked their club doctor after the team went on the road with injured players (Paxy, Vogt & Gee) with no back ups.

    In a low scoring dour struggle in diabolic conditions at Scone the Krushers have rallied to win an important 4 points 878-800, lead by Bri Davey and Kaitlyn Ashmore exceeding 100 against usual Sirens points gatherers Anne Hatchard and Alyce Parker (106 & 105)

    Unofficial score

    Lake St Clair Devils 916
    Defeated
    Timboon Trailblazers 909

    I have the Devils holding on for a seven point victory but with it being so close we will have to wait for rollover for confirmation. The Devils won the 80+ count 3-2 against the Trailblazers and both teams were well represented by players in the 60-79 bracket. Defender Charlotte Thomas (111) was Timboon’s best and inspired a late fightback, midfielder Alicia Eva scored 95. The LSC starting midfield combined for 408 points led by Jasmine Garner (140) in a best afield performance with Monique Conti (108) and Claudia Whitfort (100) also in triple figures.

    The girls could have distributed some of those points across other games this season!... Stoked with the performance of our young stars Goldsworthy and Wales.

    Round 7 winners in the 2023 ORFFW were LSC by 7, Junee by 8, Pomona by 104, Katanning by 119, Glenbrook by 164 and Wongan Hills by 148 - Glenbrook high scoring with 1064 and Scone low scoring with 759. Pomona is now the 3rd confirmed finalist of 2023 with Katanning, Wongan Hills and Vivonne Bay battling for the 4th and last finals spot in next week's final round.

    The Galahs score was comfortably the highest ever in ORFFW history and dwarfed their previous best ever effort of 893, an amazing effort and one that will have their Round 8 opponents from Wongan Hills needing to bring a determined defensive gameplan as they plot a smash and grab victory next weekend to keep their finals chances alive as Vivonne Bay hosts Katanning in the other feature match of the round.
