With respect to potential Premier League rule changes for 2026 the following is proposed - maximum keeper number to be increased from 17 to 18 and squad size is increased from 23 to 24 - 2026 onwards PSD to be structured with first 4 rounds as per current reverse ladder order - 2026 onwards PSD 5th and 6th rounds will be combined as follows ie wooden spooner to receive picks 41 and 42 ....... premier to receive picks 59 and 60 Adding a 24th body to each squad should assist with filling teams once injuries mount through the season while keeping midseason drafts relevant as an equalisation measure. The combined 5th/6th round format (which has been used in the ORFFW for several seasons) shortens the draft slightly and adds more strategy to the latter 4th round selections because higher ranked teams must cover risks of their shortlisted players being selected in the 16-18 picks between their 4th and 5th selection.
