Does anyone know who ShortMiddleLeg is? He has a good base team but still has Cowan, Hopes, McCullum which indicates he probably isn't trading - if anyone knows him give him a poke, our league is doing well!
Bad luck for Hazlewood out for the season a foot stress facture, the enemy of fast bowlers everywhere. http://www.sydneysixers.com.au/news/article/2012-01/2012-01/injury-update-january-4th Who to trade him to?
I cant believe Kane Richardson didn't get another bowl before the Heat were bowled out last night. Didn't get his bonus cause he didn't bowl 3 overs. Very frustrating! Oh well, here's to Gibbs and Wade finding some form tonight
Tonight's teams for those who can't watch Perth Scorchers: Herschelle Gibbs, Marcus North (c), Mitchell Marsh, Simon Katich, Paul Collingwood, Luke Ronchi (wk), Nathan Rimmington, Brad Hogg, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Michael Beer, Ben Edmondson, Tom Beaton (12th). Scorchers remain unchanged. Melbourne Stars: Cameron White (c), Robert Quiney, George Bailey, David Hussey, Adam Voges, Matthew Wade (wk), Luke Wright, James Faulkner, Clint McKay, Jackson Bird, Shane Warne, Chris Simpson (12th). Bird comes in to make his debut for the Stars.
And White gets out for 1 off 9 - surely he can't be selected for the Aussie T20 side, let alone get the captaincy - the fella is a liability for the Stars and should drop himself right down the order behind far better batsmen instead of wasting a wicket opening the innings - selfish attitude by the Stars skipper!!! Am just glad I ditched him for Birt after 2 rounds!!!
Got a massive 58 total points between my 4 bowlers this week, trading in Beer 2 rounds ago turned out terrible and a 0 from Brett Lee is never pleasant. For trades I think Blizzard and Hazlewood have got to go, considering one of 3 options ($50k in bank): 1. Hodge & Coulter-Nile 2. Finch/Maxwell & Vettori 3. Rohrer & Rana Naved (requires playing Maddinson) Already have Cooper and Butterworth so don't *need* to get any of the cheapies coming through. Lee and Beer survive another week while Maddinson ripens and then I'll pull the trigger on upgrading. Let me know opinions!
How's everyone fairing?? I'm up 157th overall now, but those leaders seem so far out in front. Need some PODs
looking at dropping Hazlewood for Coulter-Nile, who's on the bubble and has this rounds 72 to keep inflating his price for the next few weeks - anyone think of any better options?
Gee... I had Coulter-Nile in my starting squad, but he didn't play first two rounds. And of course as you have no idea of the teams til after lockout, I promptly traded him to Richardson. I have no access to computer tmr, so I've already done Finch -> White Razzaq -> Christian Need the cash to get rid probably the worst pick as allrounder
When you do the analysis, the points are in the batting. No surprises there. You get a bit from all rounders but the best of these have been batting. Making ground by bowlers is not easy to do because they are I think more hit and miss by nature of the scoring. I'm thinking of loading up with Hodge and Gibbs as trades this week, relying on Lee to scythe through the Thunder and regain some cash before sending him on. Would like a team like this coming to finals: BT: D Hussey, Hodge, Gibbs, Birt, Cooper A: Gayle, McDonald, Faulkner WK: Wade, Smith BW: Naved, McKay, Krejza, Lee, Someone Cheap Means I need to go Hodge-Gibbs this week, then get Wade-McDonald if possible next. Krejza is the other missing link.
Those with Crosthwaite good news he's in the squad flying over to Perth, and from what's written expected to play. http://www.adelaidestrikers.com.au/BBL/bbl-teams/adelaide-strikers/news/article/2012-01/crosthwaite-returns-to-adelaide-strikers-squad
Heat v Hurricanes teams tonight Heat: Hayden, Robinson, van der Merwe, Christian, Forrest, Paulsen, Nesser, Vettori, Hartley, Hauritz, McDermott Hurricanes: Jaques, Wells, Birt, Shah, Triffitt, Lockyear, Johnston, Krezja, Naved, Doherty, Laughlin Anyone with McCullum, RHarris, Lynn, Hopes, Swan or Cosgrove in their teams misses out!!!
Alright Birt. I went out on a limb and put you as captain, you've got plenty of runs to chase, so give me a nice quick score!
I wonder how many traded out Hayden in the last couple of weeks, huge score tonight! Another poor performance by Doherty, didn't even get a cheap wicket tonight - not helped by Rana dropping a dolly of a catch off him. Speaking of, I'm getting sick of Rana and his nonsense wickets at the end of the innings.
Thanks Bear! He did me proud. Although Hussey and Gayle are both in my team, I will be cheering on low scores for them now, seeing as most people have them as captain.
Yeah, got all 3 of them myself in both this and the Fox comp but didn't have to balls to go with Birt as C in either mainly because I was a little wary about how Vettori would go - turns out he got tonked out the park!!!
Guess Lucas was right when he said it's a batsmens game, certainly touched them up tonight! Only 8 wickets total and the lowest bowlers economy was 7.25. I traded in Vettori this week to try and get a POD, he was lucky to get his 32 points as he seemed a bit off tonight - at least he basically covered Rana's points. Unfortunately another 0 for Triffitt will stunt his mooing for the rest of the competition.
