Go the "Scorcher" boys. Very happy with NMC & MM

Hoping for a respectable score from my batsmen - Hayden, Finch, Forrest & Maxwell & I just may post my first big score for the Comp

Just noticed Doherty and Richo earned themselves duck eggs. Which effectively makes NCN score 37. You !@#$%*!

    Hey Basher's

Teams for this evenings game between Renegades & Heat - the final game of the penultimate round.

Melbourne Renegades: Aaron Finch, Brad Hodge, Glenn Maxwell, Andrew McDonald (c), Nathan Reardon, Shahid Afridi, Abdul Razzaq, Graham Manou (wk), Aaron Heal, Shane Harwood, Dirk Nannes

Brisbane Heat: Matthew Hayden, Andrew Robinson, Chris Lynn, Daniel Christian, Peter Forrest (c), Roelof van der Merwe, Michael Neser, Daniel Vettori, Chris Hartley (wk), Nathan Hauritz, Alister McDermott

My goose has been well and truly cooked this round thanks to donuts from Doherty & Richardson, a 1 from Cooper, a -20 from Abbott, and having to rely on Lockyear's 23 as sub for Gibbs!!!

Awesome bowling from Afridi, glad he finally hit some form after a very slow start to the compeition. Glad Vettori is in this early hopefully he can get me some runs too!

C'mon Afridi, only concede 3 runs from your last over - PLEASE!

Typical that Heal is back in the side now

Typical, trade in Hodge and he scores 10 and then follow it with a 1.

C'mon Afridi and Vettori more points!

EDIT: Alright Afridi got to 20!! Feel free to keep swinging, not too fussed if you go out now.

Glad to see Afridi finding some form, and now opening the batting! Good trade in this week for Christian. My other trade Hayden didnt work out as well, hopefully he gets some catches or run outs. But he was much better than Klinger who went out for him. On track for 650 or so this round I hope.

Keep it going Thunderstruck up to 7th overall now! Tough decision with what to do with Gibbs but you have done everything right so far.

Yeah getting pretty nervous! Ha! Coming 2nd in the Sydney Thunder supporters group aswell. Gibbs looks like he will play next round for what I can see. I think it might just be a salary boosting exercise this week so I have more cash for the unlimited trades after this round.

I'm well off the pace in 300th but I'm looking to sacrifice next round in order to maximise the last 2 rounds also. Something like trading Gayle to Wright on the surface is insane but would net you some serious cash.

Happy to run some ideas through with you if you want either via this thread or PM.

Voges surely still the man to beat. Not putting a foot wrong off the field, probably why he hasn't done stuff all on it.

Wow, two duck eggs and I was still ranked 183rd for the week. Noice.

So if I want to gain as much salary as possible this week, then I'll have to trade out Gayle and Cooper. Could be a risk trading out Gayle, but even if he scores well, it should cancel out with the cash I'll make by not having him. Id say his B/E this week will be around the 200-250 mark.

What you think thokash? Seem like a reasonable plan?

My main issue is that there is unlimited trades before semis, but then no trades before final, so it may come down to a tipping comp on who you think will win the semis. Do you pick all 15 players from 2 of the teams you think will be in the final, or do you take a mixture of all 4 teams? If your captain doesn't make the finals then you're pretty much screwed!!

If I did drop those two, then it would be Shah and Wright to come in to maximize profit (and scoring). Finch and Marsh both have poor scores in round 5, but Shah's worst score in the previous 3 round is in round 4. Wright doesn't need any explanation. His 16 from round 4 will go and his price will skyrocket with a half decent score.

If you assume the top 4 stay as they are, then your team for the last 2 rounds will probably look like this:

BAT: Hussey, Birt, Gibbs, Shah/Quiney (Maddinson/Rohrer/Lumb)
    AR: Wright, Marsh (S. Smith)
    WK: Wade (Triffit/Ronchi/Nevill)
BOWL: Rana, NCN, Hogg, McKay/Warne (Lee)

Assuming you do the Shah and Wright trades, here's what your trades will be:

    Hayden > Maddinson/Rohrer/Lumb (estimate +20k/+40k)
    Afridi > Marsh (estimate +20k)
    Butterworth > S. Smith/O'Keefe (estimate -20k)
    Coyte > Hogg (estimate -30k)
    Richardson > Warne/McKay (estimate -30k/-10k)
ESTIMATE: ranging from -40k to 0k (depends on WK also)

For WK you probably just want to pick whoever the Stars play, the other 3 WK (not including Wade) all have a low average and you may as well guarantee points in the final.

All-rounders you want a Sixer on the bench over Faulkner because you don't want 2 Stars. Batsmen you ideally want a 2/1/1/1 split so that's why the Sixers on the bench.

Bowlers are definitely the most interesting, again you want the 2/1/1/1 structure. I went with NCN/Hogg for the 2, but you could choose Doherty or Krejza over one of them I guess. Again no real good Sixers options, Lee has to be it.

This is the conservate route, the other option I guess is to hope the Sixers lose and just load up on the best players replacing the 3 Sixers bench players. Or even as you said gamble on picking the 2 finalists and picking solely their players, might have to map this option out too.

If you don't do the Wright/Shah trades then you could be as much as -50k I reckon. Obviously those are just estimates and it depends on how the players score this round, but it's good to plan it all out.

Bloody hell I hope the Stars make it, not only do I follow them but if they don't all this is meaningless!

Wow that's a lot of input, appreciate that Thokash. I'm not gonna take all that in now, as it's mainly for the finals. But I'll come back to it after this round. I reckon the Top 4 now, will all make the finals, cant see the run rate being so great to change anything.
Do you think I should be going for price this week or points? Salary may end up being quite irrelevant by the end, as scores in this comp fluctuate quite a lot. (I do already have the highest salary of the Top 10).
I'm not sure if I should take my chances by trading out Gayle this week. It could be a good POD but it could backfire considerably!
I can see the games at the GABBA and Blundstone this week being the 2 high scoring matches.

How do you know who's on the "bubble" or "precipice"? You mention Gayle but would Hodge after his two low scores be due a big drop as well?
