You're right Port, Hodge would be ready for a huge drop in price, but I don't have him that's why he hasn't been mentioned in my posts.

Lol yeah looking back I might have gone a bit overboard.

Agreed, those two grounds both coming off 200+ scores. If you trade in Shah would you bench him or Hayden? Might not be the worst idea given Gibbs isn't guaranteed to play.

Gayle will be hit or miss again, if he gets in he will have a good time against the Heat's 3 spinners. If aynthing, this will be the trade that costs you points. If Gayle scores 100 and Wright fails, not only do you lose the points you also lose most of the cash gain.

Judging from the analysis I did above, you don't "need" the cash too badly. I don't know how much cash you have in the bank, but could you do any low-risk trades that could gain you money?

I'm really torn on this one, I think I might try it but again only because I'm not near the top.

From calculations, Cooper and Gayle have twice the break even than any other player in my team, so cant really see any other options. Think I'm set on those trades, unless someone can convince me otherwise!

Bit annoying that my two best scores 571 & 665 have both resulted in 30 run loses.

I'm thinking ditch all emerg for lowest price available & go into finals with 11 good uns. This is of course a strategy for those in the 2758 ranked spot like me.

Can someone confirm we go unlimited trades for our last round (8)which covers 3 games (semis & gf). So 4 sides become 2 for the final. How do I avoid duck eggs not knowing which two teams will make the final?
Can't quite get my head around it!

Hey UA can you tell me out of these players who'll likely drop the most: Hodge, Gayle, Richardson, Doherty, Nannes?

As for top 4, Strikers need to thrash the Stars to make it so it looks settled.

    As for Head to Head:
Scorchers won against Sixers and Stars but lost to Hurricanes
Hurricanes won against Scorchers and Sixers but lost to Stars
Sixers won against Stars, lost to the others.

Could be interesting based on final positions but I think you have to bank on the current top two going through.

So are we saying we have to decide Friday week, which two teams we think will make the final & basically have only those players (plus possible emerg cover for stuff ups) in our team?

If I think say Hurricanes & Scorchers will get through & load up & both get beaten, I get 11 duck eggs? Seems harsh?

Well yes which is why thosask outline his conservative approach. :D

It's pretty much tipping who you think will win and getting those players, which is probably why we get unlimited trades, It's only one extra match though so if we base it on a normal round it'd only make 1/4 of a round difference

    @Port

In order of B/E compared to their average you have:
    Hodge
    Doherty
    Gayle
    Richardson
    Nannes

Hodge and Doherty will likely lose a HUGE amount this round if they score their average.

I just realised that there won't even be the ability to make substitutions between the semis and final. Therefore there is no need to pick 2 Wicketkeepers (for example) from the same semi-final to guarantee one plays in the final. This format sucks!

Hey Thokash, do you know which Aussie team members are going to play this round, and do you think any of them will be worth a punt on. Not sure if I actually need any more salary, so doesnt matter if they are only playing their first or second match.

From this article Lyon, Marsh, Haddin and Starc are all released to play:

    http://www.brisbaneheat.com.au/news/article/2012-01/warner-and-harris-ruled-out

Also this article confirms Gibbs is not playing, along with Rimmington:

    http://www.perthscorchers.com.au/news/article/2012-01/marsh-returns-to-boost-scorchers-firepower

McCullum is also back so that means van der Merwe will miss for the Heat.

As far as trades go, you could maybe take a risk on Haddin or McCullum as they will likely open, hope they go big and hope Wade misses out. Marsh could also be another good POD, I doubt many will trade these players in.

Good luck in the last round pre finals guys. Hope we get some nice salary increases to help out in the trading action after this round. Still trying to decide which teams to punt on making the granny. Scorchers & Hurricanes would be nice!

I'm definitely pulling the trigger on Gayle to Wright - green pitch, bit of weather around and the Heat batting first, not sure if Gayle will score well. (although now for sure he will come out and smash it)

Took the punt on McCullum this week, since Wade is now batting down the order. Looks like it may be my first bad trade of the comp. Oh well, lets hope he gets some catches/stumpings/runouts! Also went Marsh for Gibbs. (Oh boy, and just noticed I put the C on Marsh, I think I knew I did that, but questioning it now!)

Doh I feel partly responsible! Very much bowling conditions at the Gabba tonight.

I made Marsh captain of my Fox team, hopefully he pulls something out for us!

Dont feel responsible at all Thokash. McCullum, on paper, is the best option for a WKP as he is the only opening batsmen out of all of them (except Haddin maybe, was considering him!) Also had Hayden, so not a good start for me. On the positive side, I have Coyte, so a wicket and good run rate so far.
I dont really care about this week to tell you the truth. It all comes down to picking the right team for the finals really. Just gotta make sure I select the two winning semi final teams!
