good stuff guys! Gotta a couple of 'hot tips' from a mate who works at the WACA and knows some of these guys, if your looking for semi POD's he reckons: Batter: Bailey Bowler: Heal All rounder: M Johnston he also said to stay away from Katich and Beer. not sure why? (here comes a 50 - 100 score for them...haha)
Well Davis isn't in the Perth team! Count him out of the equation. @Will I dont like McCallum because he's a Kiwi international and for his price I want a keeper, not someone away (possibly) for our finals. Cooper, I think is at least a downgrade target since he's not playing round 1. My team atm is: Batting: 3 Prems, 2 Mid-Pricers All-Rounders: 2 Prems, 1 rookie Wicketkeeping: 1P, 1R Bowling: 4 Prems, 1 rookie Note that bowling "prems" are the equivalent to batting mid-pricers. If anyone is in the foxsports game, its interesting who they rate as "prems" based on their scoring from the previous twenty20 tournament. Different scoring system but good as a guide For bowling rookies, Gale from Brisbane has been selected, contrary to a lot of the others at basement price he's coming into the tournament with some form, albeit it in sheffield shield. He's my roughie at least, Richardson looks good but too pricey for a rookie to me.
Interesting Jet, you're friend has mentioned nearly all my PODs! If he's in the know, then Katich may not be looking good batting wise and considering Beer had a good first crack at Twenty20 something must be up there!
So any suggestions for captain selecting? Probably safe to go with a batsman that may also bowl, like a David Hussey perhaps?
Triple posting is terrible I know, changed my team to upgrade a bowler to a better player so its now a proper GnR team...and with room for Richardson (+ some leftover cash)! For those who follow things closely, I haven't included anyone who's going to miss have I? Bat: Harris, Hussey, Finch, Bailey (Cowan) AR: Gayle, Hopes (Butterworth) WK: Crosthwaite (Triffit) Bow: Heal, Nannes, Doherty, Richardson (Gale) Cash: $9,300
@L6 Reckon you can't go wrong with any of Hussey, Gayle or Cam White for captain if you have any of them - all should bowl a couple overs at least
some of these teams are beginning to look very similar lol i suppose it is difficult to find points of difference as there are only 15 players to select. here's my team - most likely going to be a final cut unless someone points out if ive picked an injured player or not... BAT: D.Hussey(c), Finch, White, Katich (Cooper) ALR: Gayle(vc), Hopes (Floros) WKT: Crosthwaite (Triffitt) BWL: McKay, Nannes, Lee, Richardson (Hazlewood)
