Hey guys just wouldn't mind some clarification, is it that we need to enter the upcoming draft with 22 players, or delist 4 players? Cheers, Fitzy

Hey lads, thought I had this pre draft delisting thing sorted in my head, but recent posts has me second guessing... Lenh mentions in one post about delisting to meet the targets of 22 (pre season) and 24 (mid season), then in another about delisting to 22 or less in pre season. On the other hand, you could all be fishing to see who takes the bait (should have called you gents, not lads) Does anyone havea definitive answer on this?

I may not have drunk enough to understand the inference, but I read the second line as a constant? To be clear for this preseason draft, you must enter the draft with 22 or less players, you can delist or trade draft picks to get there, but 22 is the maximum number of players you can have in your squad at that time, after that you can delist as many as you wish. It is feasible, if Fitzy doesn't trade out the remaining 10 or so players he has left from his original squad, that he could enter the draft with 16 players. He has a big broom and is not afraid to use it Edited to correct the ipads wall of text outcome..
Whow, how may I end up with 16 players at the draft, pretty sure I have 27 at the moment.... and for the record I am finished trading, unless a great offer comes my way.

I was just wondering how you felt about being stuck with 10 original squad members Were you to delist them you would enter the draft with 16...
Ah I understand you now, Not ideal but needed to happen, got a steady squad now with a succession plan for 2014, all will be revealed in the 2013 Venus Bay pre season Trade and Draft wrap. Although one more trade negotiation going on...

Thanks Len, Me gets now. Doesn't take much to confuse my brain (may borrow Fitzy's broom to give myself an upper cut for good measure). I'm not very smart but I can lift 'eavy fings!

Gonna throw caution to the wind and pose a few more questions (hopefully my brain is working faster than my fingers). It's about the draft itself this time. What time does the draft commence on the 18th? What timeframe are coaches given to take their pick? What happens if said timeframe passes without that coach taking their pick? (other than raucous laughter from other coaches) Does draft take place here on a forum or blog page or in some other stealthy location? Thanks
Did we dob you in for overseeing the draft Len?If so, I'm sorry. This does however present an opportunity to lay it out clear and simple for everyone. I would be happy if you decide (if you are in fact in charge), rather than too much democracy on a time start and how long we wait for recalcitrants, etc.

Thanks We had most of those clarified on the old site, but I think the posting dates were outside what was moved here, as I recall the 'rules' are below. If I have anything wrong please correct me, some of these are recollections only. [span style='font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3;]1. Draft commences 12:01 AEST on the 18th, at whatever time the then # 1 draft pick holder selects (currently melbandy though he is shopping it). [span style='font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3;]2. All coaches will be given 18 hours in which to make a selection. [span style='line-height: 1.3;]3. If a coach misses he will be able to slot in after anyone else once he becomes available, (ideally posting his intention to do so, so that the personwhose[span style='line-height: 1.3;]pick it would otherwise be doesn't jump in first), these slotted in picks will not have 18 hours to occur, they will have 1 hour. [span style='font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3;]4. My plan was on the 17th I will set a thread setup for draft picks, I would repostthedraft order into the first post and then update that post with selections as regularly as possible.[span style='font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3;]I get the immediacy of the chat box but if you left it for a few hours you didn't know what had happened, so personally would prefer we had a thread, we can thensubscribeto it an get emails when someone picks, should be fool proof. this also means the draft doesn't need a babysitter 24/7. With regard to points 2 & 3, it's fair to say that theapplicationof a different set of rules caused some angst last time around, something I am hoping to completely avoid. If everyone takes 18 hours, or even every 10th pick does we wont finish, so we need people to be considerate of others and try to check in as often as possible. The 18 hour window is the result of debate not dictation, there are circumstances where 12 hours is not fair, 24 is too long. Once the draft is underway there will be no alteration of the conditions. One thing that would help immensely is to have alternate who can make a pick for you, presumably from a short list, either as a once off, or if you know you wont be able to check the site for more than 12 hours. I understand this can't always be done, but where it can it sure helps.
