    seconded
If we get this all done before he wakes up he may not be able to step down.
You may well say God Save Demetriou, because nothing will save the ORFFA Commissioner from another term!

<p style='font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 18px;]Referring to misfits thread...I would actually question why we have to wait until 10 September to do a trade. <p style='font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 18px;]My thoughts are that we should probably have the trade period when everyone is around and still interested before the summer hiatus (a nasty condition commonly treated with metho and a wire brush). <p style='font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 18px;]For mine, I would propose a calendar change next year to prevent the occurrence of back door trading... and that is that no trades can be discussed (even as 'ideas' or 'thoughts' until after the GF completion, however at that point we have a trading period open for 10 days. I don't see how the Calendar of events is set the way it is and this would remove the need for that

But how would you police it, and, how does changing the dates prevent people from going early?

you can't police it... it would have to be an honesty type approach... but I think the main issue is as soon as finals started, everyone got itchy trade fingers, myself included Bringing it forward removes the need for the two week or so delay as is currently in the order of events... that's all

Agree with Bandit on this one. If there is a way we can move up the trade period to the Tuesday after the ORFFA GF (or even the Monday) - that might help things. The non-discussion thing would still be an honesty-based process, but not being able to bung trade lists up on team threads until the Monday or Tuesday might help as well. But I'm definitely looking forward to the trade period opening up tomorrow. Fun fun.

Office Bearers /Portals/0/User%20Images/Stretcher-Bearers-MASTER1.jpg And don't for one moment think we won't get that bloke for littering. As you were gentlemen. Only one teeny change, JC, formerly known as Jolcon should return to his former post and help out the Fixtures Committee. His slacking days are over. Think last year's appointments may have been made before two or three franchises changed hands, so don't be backward in drafting Jen and Gravenger. The Riverina Wombat is already helping out when he can. Lenh191 moves up to become Deputy Commissioner. That, along with JC, makes two. Why not, she said. Spiny Norman will do another term as enforcer.

Can I make a somewhat cheeky suggestion... can we have another trading period post pre-season draft... if only for 48-72 hours?
My thinking is that some people (Bandit) may go into the draft looking for a certain type of player (Wingard, Grundy), only to be shafted by someone else (Bama, Raptor), and the draft going to shit for them. Having a small trading window allows sides to be some minor corrections post draft, and only needs to be for day or two.

    [IMG] Love it...
As an aside... did we actually formalise your appointment Terry? I would hate for a rival comp to make a last minute Essendon to Dusty type approach and snatch you from our grasp!
And I am assuming no changes to office bearers?

Pretty sure it all happened in another thread Bandit, we didn't officially have an election, not much point with only one candidate and anyone who expressed an opinion voted for him...

Reminds me of Shel Silverstein (RIP) 'I was stoned and I missed it'. There was some minor tweaking of office bearers, with an additional Deputy Commish added in the form of a misfit and JC shouldering extra duty to rejoin the Fixture Committee. You probably didn't notice if you blinked, but bama was our Trade Commissioner. Due to popular demand I have appointed you as my sexual advisor....... .......so, when I want your ffffing advice, I'll ask for it.
