Just for you JPK...the Sandgropers and Monarchs have agreed to terms that will see promising D/M Jackson Thurlow and Southern Cross's 2nd rnd MSD selection swap the sunny climes of WA with the lush countryside of King Island in return for PSD 24 & PSD 37. The Southern Cross board are delighted to get back into the second round of the draft where they feel they could potentially pick up a gem.
The Hughenden Prairie Dogs & Serengeti Buffaloshave come to terms sending O'Sheato the Buffalos andHorlin-Smith tothe Prairie Dogs.
In a 'ridiculous' trade Chris Dawes is being shipped from Christmas Island to Eden, we expect his lifeboat to show up any day with the Smugglers Round 2 MSD pick. In exchange the Whalers are trading PSD pick 31.
In what should hopefully conclude the Sandgroper's trading for this off season, an agreement has been reached with new franchise Hughenden that sees Southern Cross players Lachie Hansen & Sam Kerridge swap places with Dane Swan & Jimmy Bartel. Dane & Jimmy will provide invaluable leadership to the youngsters and can help to keep the forward line ticking over whilst the kids continue to develop. In what is being reported by the local press as the ultimate money ball trade, the board welcome a couple of seasoned veterans that should push the Sandgroper's intotop 8 contentionand with a little luck see them figure deep into the finals.
In what may be one of the most controversial trades, it has been agreed to release good mates Swan & Bartel to the Sandgroper's in exchange for Lachie Hansen & Sam Kerridge. This will give the opportunity for Swan & Bartel to see out their playing careers providing invaluable experience to the Sandgropers. The coach is excitedto have Hansen & Kerridgejoiningthe Prairie Dogs withnew ground & fresh approach thiswill give themplenty of opportunity tobe part ofthe long term future of the Prairie Dogs.

Hey Coaches, please be aware that Tomster's veto post does NOT make the trade dead. Per the FU Rules in the trade area it states: (d) Trades can be vetoed if a majority of 5 non-participating teams cast a veto vote. (e) Teams will have roughly 48 hours to veto a trade proposed (eg. If a trade is proposed at 2.15pm on a Tuesday, ORFFU coaches have until 10pm on a thursday to cast their votes. I'll be checking/ratifying at 10pm, basically).

I don't have a problem with any trades. If 2 coaches want to trade, then that's their choice. I won't be a party to any veto. <p abp='661]I have more of a problem with coaches who don't put their head into the forum after a season ends, and let everyone know they're still around, and want to be part of the mighty ORFFU. If you can comment on another 'tooserious' blog, thenthe 'said coaches'have the time to respond to PM's, andto also have the timeto post a comment on any 'fu blog, just to let us know you're alive and kicking. <p abp='661]You know who you are...................

Veto I must say that I don't like this trade on face value. Kerridge and Hansen are questionable starters for their teams with limited ceilings, whilst two established stars despite being in their later years may very average 100 each for the next 2-3 years. However kudos to Southern Cross for engineering such a deal. Imust admit I had forgotten about the veto rule and as such I will ponder such a decisionover a glass or as is often the casethe bottleof Annie's Lane Sparkling Shiraz.

Veto I'll join that veto. Booooooooooooo!!! Its nothing personal mate, nothing against a fellow Eagles man. I just see the trade as one team picking up two players for the now, giving them a major advantage this year, while the other is picking up two players for the future, giving them the GC / GWS style advantage in a few years time. I won't mind too much if the trade goes through, but I'm iffy enough about it to give this veto thing a crack ;-)
