What makes you think these guys are any less safe than Ellis, Morris, Magner or Milera were at the start of the year? All rookies (except new teams) have poor JS at the start but injuries and form help them secure themselves in the team. Just because they come in mid-year doesn't mean they suck. Last year the biggest risers were Mzungu and I Smith who both debuted mid year. Be careful indeed, but don't totally go into your shell. Only the daring players make up points.
Ash Smith to return this week, so it looks like Brennan will struggle to get a game. A shame, because he looks a good one. Perhaps Spurr is the goer, the mature-age factor gets him over the line.
Not sure how long Spurr will last tbh. Freo have some depth this year: Morabito Suban Lower Walters Van Berlo Griffin Grover Silvagni Pitt Kepler Anthony Would be difficult to see him string together the needed 6 odd games - but his current good form would help.
Luckily I have Smedts and am able to do a forward to back switch to trade out Bugg and bring in a forward. I really liked Saad's game last night and think he has sealed his place for the next few - unfortunately the Saints have a bad run of games coming up. In which case a forward premium might be the go.
Having to change my trade in from Brennan to Spurr to avoid bye doughnuts, which is a pity, but these things have to be done! Interested to see if/when Sam Shaw returns for the Crows too.
