No doubt Moles as the potential to be a star. I have followed him for years since he played for Geelong VFL. Unsure of any injuries. Will be interested to see if he plays pre-season games, if so I will be jumping on him at that price.
yeah, ive been wondering about Moles too. if anyone has more info that would be great. and on Jerromey Webberley too. Hows he looking this year? Anyone know?
can't help with either of those 2, sorry, and I would like to know if anyone has any oil on Brad Mangan from the Kangas
I generally look at each year's rising star nominations, and then track them through future years. There tends to be a pretty decent incline in year 4 or 5 - not from statistics but from memory of analysis CD did a few years back. Rising star nominees aren't so much diamonds in the rough, but a good crop waiting to be harvested. So you'd be thinking guys like Hurley in that list. Not a roughie, but certainly someone you can't ignore for too long.
I cannot recommend Moles. He is a depth player at best at the Bulldogs, will play a significant role only if injuries strike. Jarrad Grant is a hard one to describe. He disappointed a lot of people at the club last year and probably went backwards in 2011 from a much more promising 2010. I'll go as far as to say he is at the cross-roads in 2012. With Barry Hall vacating the forward line, a different setting will be available to Bulldog forwards this year. I expect Liam Jones and Jarrad Grant will be given plenty of opportunities to fill the void in 2012. But Grant has been around for a bit longer than Jones, so if Grant doesn't get a wriggle on and soon, he might be on the trade table by the end of the year.
Horse had McGlynn playing the tagging role for the last 6 rds of last year. With him and Smith, this could well free up Jack.
Is there any word on the Port Adelaide bogan-come-GWS forward? Chad looks like he could be value and end up playing mid / halfback in 20 games if fit. What's the thinking?
Any love for Luke Hodge? His output was obviously down early last season but he could comfortably average 110-115 across a fit season.
Lots of love for Hodgey. His achillies was a problem in January last year and he suffered. he's apparently in top nic. Would suggest he's a diamond in the rough, just a diamond. I also think K. Stevens from WC is someone to watch in the pre-season comp.
A (belated) thanks Yamum re Kennedy. He is rarely spoken of here in the east unless the Judd trade gets mentioned. If he was playing in Melbourne there would be comparisons to Cloke. It's tough trying to settle on forwards, the byes making it that much more difficult.
Hope that Judd trade gets mentioned more and more, because it means that Kennedy is making Carlton rue his loss and that they could have won a flag without Judd, but instead miss out with him. GOLD
I very much doubt whether Carlton could have won a flag with Kennedy (to this point). In the future who knows, but at the time Carlton has Fevola, Waite, Kreuzer. They needed a premium midfielder more than a promising young forward.
Any inside info on any of the giants prelisted talent??? all there top 10 picks this year are just way over priced imo??
Morris from Richmond. Mature age solid build and had a big year in SANFL. 113K and good chance to shine at Tigers.
Lee Spurr! He needs to get off the rookie list at the dockers but is coming off a cracking year in the SANFL. UPDATE: In 2011 he played 18 Games averaging 23 disposals at 85.5% efficiency!! Better than 2:1 Kick to Handball ratio, he seems made for sc!
