For mine what would be informative would be if the afl were to adopt a degree of transparency in their decision making and said 'we arrived at the fixture list based on the following parameters.'

All they've done is add up the 2015 points for and points against of all the 2016 opponents to determine hardest or easiest draws...??? For starters, the 2015 points totals are based on the difficulty of the team's 2015 draw, so its not a particularly good measure of a team's strength. And it takes no consideration of breaks between games, and travel. Which surely contribute to the difficulty of a draw. Perhaps they have crunched the numbers and found the points totals to be more reflective than the other influences. Agree 100% on methodology, I know Freo are squealing yet look good on this list. As far as the Giants go though, our fixture is massively harder than last year, not sure that the variance is genuinely in line with other teams in the mid 6. The 'inevitable' finals appearance may be delayed for a bit.

I would love it also Graeme, but it would take a very brave administration to do it, the more detail you expose the more targets you give people to take a shot at.
With this scattered opening 1st round, can someone tell me when teams are announced? I'm guessing Thursday night's game is announced Wednesday? But then what......? Tks !!
greetings sNoZ. You seem to be displaying the classic signs of a super power in decline. I remember when you used to tell, if not command, clubs when they should announce their teams for round one.
ORFFA team = crap ADDICTS team = crappier Supercoach team = crappola Collingwood = crappiest .........Soooooooo glad footy is back !
Easter is non existent over here - everybody works Good Friday & there certainly isn't anything called Easter Monday alas.....kids were away so I spent the weekend watching footy at night & Jason Day during the day. Oh & Melbandy, bite me
And get a $100 Merchandise voucher from the Giants for being the weekly winner, small win, but after the month I've had a welcome change of luck!
Apologies for my lack of online presence for the last few weeks guys, moving house and jobs for both of us has seriously strained our time online. Hoping to be a round a bit more often from late this week onwards
Oh, I thought you were pre-occupied with spending the $100 Giants voucher. Did you choose a new house rather than an overseas trip?
