As much as I would love to complete my team faster I do understand how tough it is with kids. I have 3, an almost 5 yr old, almost 3 yr old and a 3 week old. I'm sure you wouldn't have joined the league if you didn't take it 'too seriously' :)

Yep I agree. family and job surely comes first. This also means that there's a good chance I'll be able to do my own selections tomorrow instead of needing Eagle_Eyed to help me out. And another 8 selections got done today to keep us ahead of our run rate.

I might be able to come in later today, about 3ish and take my turn(s). Also, I've just found out about my camping trip: It'll be Tuesday-Thursday of this week coming. I'll be trying out my mate's new bushbasher and camping near Pambula. My mate Matt lives in Pambula and mods cars for a hobby so I'll probably get another driving lesson while there. Anyway, while I'm there refer to Insider for my picks.

Nothing too exciting, but does set the ground work for me to finish off the ORFF* admin stuff I've got cooking. <p style='margin-bottom: 18px; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 18px; color: #444444;]So anything posted after I start, will disappear,

Damo will have occassional internet access and has asked me to give him 12 hours before posting his pick. So if he hasn't been on by the morning I'll put it up.

I'm sorry Tylo, but I don't understand. Am I right in saying you have his next pick, but you won't post it because he's asked you to give him 12 hours. I commend you for doing Damo's asking but this whole draft just gets put back another 12 hours, even though the next pick is available.......this whole exercise is starting to annoy me. I'm not seeing the 'fun' side. Sorry.

I concur choppers, his pick will be the same weather it's now or in the morning right? So lets get this thing going.

10 - 15 picks have been taken since he gave me a list of players in the order he would like them. There is the possibility that the picks others have made may have changed who he would take next. Otherwise why don't we all just submit a list of players in the order we want and a program could have the entire draft done in a matter of minutes. He's entitled to the same opportunity as everyone else.
He has tried to do the right thing and cut the waiting time down from 24 hours to 12. It's my understanding that he will be back in Aust early next week. Up until this point I wouldn't think he has caused more of a hold up than some others.
As I've said before I really don't understand what the hurry is all about. We're going to be finished well before the start of the season.

Tylo, I tend to agree with most of what you've just said but it doesn't make it any easier, knowing the pick is available but to wait for another 12 hrs because of possible internet problems. I'm in Thailand and I know about internet problems but if I hand a list of players to someone, then I expect them to use that list and take the next available player that I nominated, when my turn arrives, not 12 hours later. That's the price I pay because of my internet problems, and to ensure it doesn't adversely affect any other player. But hey, that's just me. I'm new to this whole draft thing but it's starting to become a drag. However I don't think it can be done any better by doing it any other way. just sayin'.

Are 3 day run rate and expected finish is the 7th March just before the season starts which leavesno room for error, no hyped up banter about your team, no odds on who will be the premiership winners, no trading between first 20 draft picks and the next 6 because we will still be picking through the NAB cup. The whole idea is to get your picks done so the analyst, the banter & the fun can start. The waiting around is killing it. I'm sure ddsaints can't wait to take his next pick which will be another ruck cause Bell'boy is out for the start of the season and then he'll most probably be out again when the ASADA hand out their penalties (haha).

The jinx has started. I'm destined to have an injury plaged lineup. I go good at ruining players careers. Ruckman are overrated :) I would like the pace to increase also, but waiting patiently for now. Having delays between picks does my head in, constantly choping and changing who I'm going to pick. Being finished before NAB is preferred, trading through NAB would be ideal. 4 weeks of trades gives us enough time to work some deals. Trading can happen now but hard without full lists. I think say a week out from nab a super session is a must, with strict penalties.

I must admit I can't see the trade period happening without some intensive drafting sessions. Damo does have the right to post his own pick within the 24hr window we've allowed. I believe the only way we will fix this is to cut the 24hr window to possibly 6 as we are now in peak drafting hours yet nothing will happen. For this to happen we have to have a majority vote and each time it is mentioned we move on when someone picks and forget about it until the next lull. As a group we need to address this. If this is what people want it will settle it for once and all, should I create a thread?
