Before the questions come, TTT has until 9:52pm AEDST today to make his selection or he will be allocated Levi Greenwood. It's been an incredibly slow day of drafting so far! C'mon guys let's pick up the pace!

I think you right. So if you know that there's only 4 picks at the start of the day til it's your turn, and another 4 picks til it's yours again, and you know you're going to be unavailable for the afternoon, why not give both picks to someone towards the other end of the order, who is available, so as to keep the draft moving, instead of waiting for the obligatory 8 hours, until the middle of the night...... Just sayin'

TTT, Insider and JPK - thanks gents, that was a god awful run of 6 picks! Took my next 4! So backing a gut feeling that this will be the year he starts a stunning career the Smugglers will welcome yet another injury-prone player: A. Morabito. Glad to be of service mate!

Cheers Choppers & JPK - don't know how I missed that. Good luck to you DD - should be an interesting developer for Pakenham. I guess that Curtly's agent was just taking the piss during that long boozy Sunday lunch / contract negotiation ;D I'm hoping it's a blessing in disguise as Blicavs could be something special. An Olympic standard runner should be gold with the way the games fewer rotations are headed. The man is developing quickly and is apparently +10 kg since his arrival at the club without really losing any fitness / speed. Time will tell...

Blicavs might end up alright this season - currently on the rookie list but almost guaranteed to be upgraded due to a lack of cats ruckmen!

Do we need to clarify the suggestion that has come up re: drafting past round 26? Can't remember if it was in the original rules, but my 2 cents would be that if it wasn't then we wouldn't draft extra players as it may have changed some peoples strategies that weren't planning on it happening? Then again, if it was then bad luck to those who didn't know I guess!

Then again, if it was then bad luck to those who didn't know I guess! From the rules thread: <p style='color: #000000; background-color: #fbfbfb;][span style='color: #ff0000;](a) The draft will commence on the day after SC 2014 positions are announced at 7:00am EST. <p style='color: #000000; background-color: #fbfbfb;][span style='color: #ff0000;](b) 24 hour time limit on picks. If you don't pick within time you will be given the highest ranked player on 2013 averages. <p style='color: #000000; background-color: #fbfbfb;][span style='color: #ff0000;](c) Teams must continue to draft until their lists are at 26 players. All comes down to how you interpret 'c'. My preference is for 26 to be the maximum list size, but my reading of 'c' suggests 26 is a minimum. At least until the 'delistment date' of 27 Feb when all lists have to be 26 player max. Another issue (if we're continuing straight through after round 20, which seems to be some people's preference (again not mine)) is are we effectively starting a new draft at round 21? The commish's post states that the first 20 rounds will be picked and then the 'second draft' will be in reverse order. So does Insider get pick 18 or 1 of 'round 21'? I'd say 1.

In my opinion, and I've said this before, drafting should continue for as long as people want to keep drafting, in the same order that we have now. We agreed that trades didn't have to be perfectly 'even' or 'like-for-like', so it is possible that someone may trade one player for two picks. This will put one team down 1 player and another team up 1 pick. Why can't we just keep using these, until everyone has a minimum of 26 players, and then just make sure that all teams are culled to 26 players before <insert cut-off date here>. We also agreed that in the future there could be uneven numbers in teams due to drafting and trading, and that teams would need to be culled. What makes today any different to July (mid year), or next February? If people chose not to take a pick, as per any real drafting system, they can simply state their position to 'pass' on a pick, and the draft can continue on without them. In the interests of time saving, if there are coaches that are happy with their teams, and don't want to keep drafting, they could simply say so. As far as I'm concerned, anyone can pass on a pick, and then use their next selection if they so choose (silly, but why not?) until we run out of time or players. As for stopping the draft at the end of round 20 - I'm worried that if we do, we may not make the end of round 26 in time. Ofcourse, we're a democratic society, so I'll go along with whatever the majority decide.
