Draft Banter

I understand the time limit thing is tough, however we have one member in Brasil (back on 11th I think), another with no internet at home (uses the library between Tuesday & Saturday) and people from both sides of the country with a three hour time difference, these factors will make a group catch up very difficult. I have been PM'ing those that are dawdling on their selections however if we are all committed then we should be doing our best to get this thing going. I am on leave for the next 5 weeks and my phone lives in my hand so I try to make every effort to select promptly, as I've already mentioned my only real issue is that the draft is really lacking in excitement for me. I love the idea of being able to see my squad take shape, however waiting 3 days to make a selection is way too long.

 

Relax a bit people. I'm sure we are all keen but a little patience is required for this type of drafting format. I've stayed up til 3am Melbourne time to do some decent research and make my next selection to hopefully keep the draft flowing tomorrow - and yes, I have work in the morning. I would've been pushing the 24hr windowotherwise with work and family commitments(which I think is more than reasonable for each selection to allow for varied time zones / travel / sleep / life, etc.). I understand we need to get this thing done before the NAB Cup but let's be reasonable - 6 hrs won't work. It hasn't happened yet and hopefully doesn't but I suggest if someone has 2 autopicks (24hr delays) then they are automatically autopicked the rest of the way unless they send in a draft target list.

Alright, here's the deal. Sunday from 4pm AEDT is when we will get most of the picks done. Anybody not available at that time will have to message a list through to someone who is available. I don't want to hear anything about keeping lists secret, on Sunday there will be no point. Hopefully we can get through a good 3-5 rounds of drafting.

Hey guys, gotta agree with Mick here. Obviously we could be going faster, but it's still a month until the NAB so I don't think we're at panic stations yet. If we're going to have an 'intensive' draft period then I don't see why that needs to be this weekend. Surely the weekend before the NAB starts is a better time as it gives us a chance to prepare our lists. However I agree that this is dragging so a 12 hour turnaround would be great (with a possible exception for Holky on Mondays). Surely we can all check in twice a day?

By my count there's still 18 players left who averaged 100+ in 2013.... Granted there are 18, however how many fit the draft profiles of the first 2 rounds? Some interesting picks going on big knockers at 40 wow someone must have some inside mail on him getting a game this yr!! At this point you'd think everyone is drafting for the future some bargins to be had. Would be good if we were getting through a round a day, it's pain staking despite yesterday being a good day!

For the sake of boosting speed, I can get to the tourist centre and use their internet on Sundays and Mondays. I'll probably also set autopick conditions JIC because I've got a camping trip sometime next week.

 

According to the forum time, I took longer than a day to pick. Does this mean that I should be given Stevie J or do we just leave it as is? You can imagine what I'd prefer, but I thought I should mention it just to be honest
