After missing the top 8, Gariwerd have decided to rest a few players and give some game time to some fringe players for the Zac Dawson Who Cares Cup.

Koby Stevens comes back in and will take on the captaincy again, and we are giving Jasper Pittard a chance as VC, given he missed his opportunity last week in Lefty round.
Sam Bleese and Shaun McKernan still need to pass fitness tests and may be late withdawals and there is always a chance that Cam Pedersen will have too much anxiety to front up, so we are still not sure if any of them 3 will actually pull the boots on, but all are covered by emergencies.

Our 2012 b&f, Brett Deledio, will start this game from the bench after leading our 2013 b&f all season before being leapfrogged in the final game's votes, and we have dropped a host of stars, although 4 of them are emergencies and may be called upon. Matt De Boer was extremely vocal during the week about his anger at being rested, so he is an emergency; Josh Gibson will fill in as our ruck if required as he is the tallest player not in the 1st 15; Burgoyne is an emergency as the only other available defender and Sylvia could do with another run if Bleese doesnt get up for it.
Dal Santo and Cooney have both gone in for minor surgery to get them fit and raring to go for 2014. Despite our Best and Fairest winner, Cooney, looking the best he has for years in the last game of the season.

We are really excited to see the likes of Casboult and Stratton given a chance again and both will be trying to stake their claim for a spot on the 2014 list.

    Here's our team to play Mt Beauty: <p style='margin-bottom: 10px; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, San-Serif; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 16px; outline: 0px; color: #000000;]<strong style='font-size: 12px; outline: 0px; background-color: transparent;]IN: L Casboult,<strong style='font-family: Helvetica, Arial, San-Serif; font-size: 12px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; line-height: 16px; color: #000000; background-color: transparent; outline: 0px;]J Pittard, K Stevens, S Bleese, C Pedersen, S McKernan, B Stratton,[/b]

We had to cast the net wide for a second time after our second Mad Monday this week. Luckily they were so pissed they couldn't travel too far.

Mount Beauty 1229 defeated Gariwerd 1166

Blease made it through his fitness test, but was clearly not alright as he struggled to a score of 13. McKernan did not pass his fitness test and De Boer took his place in the first 15. Pedersen was once again too anxious on game day and Josh Gibson took his spot, out of position in the ruck. And Masten was also a late withdrawal for us, with Sylvia coming in for him.
Lids responded well to getting beat in the B&F by 1 vote in the last game, with a BOG 143, but it was not enough to get this young Gariwerd side over the line against a very strong (on paper) Mount Beauty.

I realise others have said it before, but watch out for this Mount Beauty side as they will be awesome!

Unfortunately Gundagi were ravaged before and during the round with injuries and no shows. Kind of put an exclamation mark (!) on the way their season went. Things can only get better for them.
For the Nuffers the midfield was on fire.

Gravenger finally gets a break that is not his neck, despite heroics from Boaky. Note those scores folks for a Zac Dawson Who Cares Cup, compared with some of the top 8. Would have been even more of a nailbiter if we both had full squads :)

Yeah, particularly if you both had any nails left.

Gravenger finally gets a break that is not his neck, despite heroics from Boaky. Note those scores folks for a Zac Dawson Who Cares Cup, compared with some of the top 8. Well done Grav - good tussle, which I thought I almost had in the bag until the Bandit said stand and deliver. I thought i was toast after Boaky's monster. My mob continues to excite and frustrate. The threat of trade bait talks have sent the 'Goons into a frenzy. MSD pick ups in Baguley and Lynch are repaying the faith while Muzza and Curnow are showing signs of former magic. 'Blue moon' Coniglio proved to be a pivotal factor in the wash up. Selectors will have an enviable task this week with Grundy (94) and Wright (108), setting the pine on fire.
