Quote from melbandy on June 29, 2012, 16:32 The reason you're walking is because the Nuffers stole your team bus. Nice set up. We are appreciating the amenities on the way to Birdsville. You don't beat the Nuffers at home without paying a toll.
We did wonder where that had gone, but we were definitely planning to walk to Nama all season long. we had a great trek over and back but couldnt get the result on the field that we wanted unfortunately. Heres the match report - thanks to our esteemed Comissioner, Xenomorph:
Namatjira 1340 defeated Gariwerd 1175 I am pleased to be able to report that the Nungas have finally cracked it for their first win of the season. Mildura Police Command reports an immediate drop in the crime rate for the greater Sunraysia area and they must be hoping for a better performance from the locals on the back nine of the ORFFA season.
And heres the Best & Fairest results for Round 8: 3 - Shannon Hurn 2 - Chris Masten 1 - Shaun Burgoyne And The Leaderboard to date: 8 - Shannon Hurn 7 - Shaun Burgoyne 6 - Matt Priddis, Brett Deledio 4 - Mitch Clark, Kurt Tippett, Matt De Boer 3 - Matt Thomas, Nick Lower 2 - Chris Masten 1 - Cale Morton
NAIDOC Round Round 15 team: DEF: Deledio Hurn (C) Stratton Gibson MID: Priddis masten De Boer Wallis RUCK ZSmith FWD Tippett Milne Sylvia Davey (VC) Int: Lower BSmith Em: Pittard (def) Magner (mid) Stevens (fwd) Only change from last week is that the captain has been dropped due to injury and Alwyn Davey comes back in after a long stretch out of the side. Still on the outer are Monfries and Matt Smith who are both still soul searching. Hurn has taken over the captaincy for this week, and Davey has been given VC duties.
You broke Morton Ant, dude is heartbroken and refusing to take the field for Marble Bar, admittedly our initiation process is "military" style, but we may be forced to dump him at the end of the year..

Related to that trade, it seems we may have rushed Lower into the fray a little too early. he did get BOG in his first game for the club, but he has unfortunately burnt out and we are about to announce that he has been dropped for round 10
Heres the match report for Round 9 - straight from the words of the commish:
Gariwerd 1257 defeated Whitsundays 1088 The Cockies with a routine win over an again disappointing Whitsundays. The ‘cocktail and spa’ training regime of the Warriors surely must be coming into question after another insipid effort.
Votes for the game are as follows: 3 - Matt Priddis 2 - Colin Sylvia 1 - Mitch Wallis And The Leaderboard to date: 9 - Matt Priddis 8 - Shannon Hurn 7 - Shaun Burgoyne 6 - Brett Deledio 4 - Mitch Clark, Kurt Tippett, Matt De Boer 3 - Matt Thomas, Nick Lower 2 - Chris Masten, Colin Sylvia 1 - Cale Morton, Mitch Wallis Heres the round 10 team: DEF: Deledio Hurn (VC) Burgoyne (C) Gibson MID: Priddis Masten Wallis DeBoer RUCK: ZSmith FWD: Tippett Davey Milne Sylvia INT: Thomas BSmith EM: Stratton (D) Magner (M) Pittard (F) Big news this week is that Matt Thomas has been recalled from his exile. Since returning from Melbourne, he has done all the right things and has regained the trust of the other players and coaching staff and finds himself in a bench role for this weeks game. Our captain - Shaun Burgoyne - has also been recalled after a week off, and he is looking to continue his awesome form from before his absence. Other BIG news is that we have named Jasper Pittard as an emergency this week, which is fantastic considering the seriousness of his injury he has had over the early parts of the season.

The unique goal posts. Chelsea can't wait to get her hands on these. The new stands offer excellent all-round view of the game, especially from the corporate box. Next year we will take a week and explore this place further.
Im glad you enjoyed your stay TiB... although not sure if the Cockies will remain in Gariwerd next year. There are murmurings of a buy out and a possible relocation.
Well, I think we had a very narrow loss last week against Far Kew: 1153 - 1148 votes were as follows: 3 - Brett Deledio 2 - Colin Sylvia 1 - Alwyn Davey And The Leaderboard to date: 9 - Matt Priddis, Brett Deledio 8 - Shannon Hurn 7 - Shaun Burgoyne 4 - Mitch Clark, Kurt Tippett, Matt De Boer, Colin Sylvia 3 - Matt Thomas, Nick Lower 2 - Chris Masten 1 - Cale Morton, Mitch Wallis, Alwyn Davey . And this week we take on Cradle Mountain who are placed very similarly to us on the ladder - both teams are in the top 4 for Total Points, but outside the 8 on the H2H ladder! Heres the team: DEF: Deledio Hurn (VC) Gibson Burgoyne (C) MID: Priddis masten De Boer Wallis RUCK: ZSmith FWD: Tippett Monfries Davey Sylvia INT: MThomas Pittard EM: Stratton (def) magner (mid) Milne (fwd) Big news this week is the emergence of Jaspar Pittard. despite not being able to fill in last week as emergency for Tippett who was a late withdrawal, we have brought him into this weeks lineup for his first game of the season! In other news, Angus Monfries will be playing his first game since the imfamous laser beam issues down in the map of tassie over a month ago. He has been getting personal training from Christiano Ronaldo in his offseason and is looking forward to taking the field again this week. And Ben Stratton should feel unlucky not to force his way into the team after scoring a ton in the ressies last week. but he has stiff competition down back, and Pittard has been itching to get a game and has just snuck in in front of him at the selection table. Should be a good game between two high scoring sides. With possibly a finals place on the line.
Have just realised that we do NOT play Cradle Mountain this week. Venus Bay are actually coming to visit us! Lol.
I can't believe it! For the first time in ages, I had written a good long match report and preview of the upcoming match - but I moved off the page and came back and it refreshed and I lost the whole thing!!! It's fuct up! Here's the summary: We got flogged against Venus Bay after an insipid performance! Here's the votes: votes were as follows: 3 - matt priddis 2 - Shaun Burgoyne 1 - mitch wallis And The Leaderboard to date: 12 - Matt Priddis 9 - Brett Deledio, Shaun Burgoyne 8 - Shannon Hurn 4 - Mitch Clark, Kurt Tippett, Matt De Boer, Colin Sylvia 3 - Matt Thomas, Nick Lower 2 - Chris Masten, Mitch Wallis 1 - Cale Morton, Alwyn Davey Now we face Cradle Mountain in an obviously much anticipated matchup (as I thought it was last week). All our planning last week centered around Cradle Mountain and we just could switch our focus to Venus Bay, but I'm hoping that will hold us in good stead for our trip down to the map of tassie this week Here's the team: Defenders: Deledio Hurn (VC) Gibson Burgoyne (c) Midfielders: Priddis Masten Wallis De Boer Rucks: ZSmith Forwards: Monfries Sylvia Davey Milne Interchange: MThomas Stratton Emergencies: Sellar def Magner mid Clark fwd
Results of the last round are not in as yet; however we could not waste any time in announcing a new club sponsor! In anticipation of the big match this weekend against Mawson Base, and inspired by the Miami Heat who served Bull meat to their fans when playing the Chicago Bulls in the 2011 ECF, we have signed a new sponsor to compete with Mawsons sponsor of JD (I think i remember X announcing JD as their sponsor during the original draft) and convinced them to make this special commemorative pie: We will be giving 1 free pie to all that attend our home game this week against Mawson Base.

Quote from TerryinBangkok on July 30, 2012, 18:14 Bundaberg as sponsor. Master stroke.
Yeah, we've also had rum on tap installed at the home ground and pints of rum are heavily subsidized for the remainder of our home games this season.
