Hawks have the best kicking ratio due to their chip chip style in the backline it failed horribly round 14.

Won't b a pies Hawks granny unless hawthorn beat Geelong week 1, who the cats have won the last 6 games against the 2008 granny

On the Blues, their record in GFs v Pies is 5-1 but in overall finals it is actually 8-13 by my calculations, so actually quite close in other finals.

Personally, I see club v club records as not as important when it comes to finals. In the Pies dominant eras in the 1920-30-50s, Carlton were simply not good enough to even challenge in the finals, where in the 1970s-80s when the Blues were a powerhouse, the Pies were able to rise above themselves and make GFs they simply didn't deserve to play in. So Carlton's record is flattered in that instance.

Another interesting thing, well interesting for me, is that in finals where Carlton was the favoured team, their record is actually quite poor.

Carlton's record in these finals is 44-1-42, compared to Collingwood 49-4-36.

This shows to me that the Pies are actually not as bad front-runners according to history. The Pies record in finals where they are the underdogs, well it's poor. 25-1-55. 30.9% wins, but against an overall underdogs record of 36.4% over time, it's not that atrocious.

Teams with the best finals records:

    Front Runners:
    Brisbane 100% (14-0-0)
    Hawthorn 82.8% (24-0-5)
    Melbourne 73% (27-0-10)
    Port Adelaide 70% (7-0-3)

    Underdogs:
    Richmond 54.5% (24-1-19)
    Melbourne 46.8% (22-2-23)
    Hawthorn 45.9% (17-0-20)

Teams with the worst finals records:

    Front Runners (ie Chokers)
    Carlton 50.6% (44-1-42)
    W Bulldogs 52.9% (9-0-8)
    Collingwood 55.1% (49-4-36)
    Geelong 56.9%(33-1-24)

    Underdogs:
    Fremantle 0% (0-0-3)
    Port Adelaide 14.3% (1-0-6)
    W Bulldogs 18.5% (5-0-22)
    SM-Sydney 24.2% (8-0-25)

Just another myth of Carlton finals dominance
