Just back on deck and looking at this now. Firstly we never intended to play through the byes so I've moved those rounds. Secondly, for reasons I don't recall I uploaded a 20 round fixture, and to be fair I don't even remember if I did the fixture or just uploaded it without checking, either way not a good outcome due to the double ups and lack of finals. The league rules which were written for a 16 team league state; The teams will have 20 players each. 12 onfield, made up of 3 Def, 3 Fwd, 5 Mids and 1 Ruck, 1 Emergency who will score full points regardless of whom they replace when needed. Plus 7 reserves. The league settings are; 10 teams. Starting round 1 Play each other twice in a home and away format, no play during the bye rounds Round 22 is semi finals with 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3 Round 23 is GF with the two SF winners playing off. So over the next week I'll trim two rounds focusing on the doubles, though obviously we have already had one lot, unfortunately that is now officially categorised as "shit happens" Next year we will play 18 rounds, 2 x head to head plus 2 x finals per the above format
So we will have 3.4 rounds of double ups due to there being only 5 "natural matchups". Rounds 22 and 23 will be Semis, 1 v 4 and 2 v 3 and then the Grand Final. Given the 5 matchup nature, at this stage I think we play 15 only home and away plus 2 weeks of finals going forward to keep the playing field fair. I propose starting in round 4 with delists and draft after round 2 will give us a chance to preview our incoming and also move us away from the other drafts etc. Obviously still avoiding the byes. Open to other suggestions.
Fwiw, I vote to just follow the same format as sc proper/draft for 10 team leagues. start r1, play each other twice, skip the byes, top 4 finals in r22, winners play off in the r23 granny. this keeps it simple. pretty sure we did it this way before the covid break. and delisting/drafting after the season starts just seems wrong lol.
Top of the table clash this week between the Nuts and snoz. Whoever gets up will be hard to catch from there.
He has been on a roll for sure, but only around 4% between 1st and 4th on points for, so could be a very close finals race
