You have some extremely talented 12 year olds in your team @snoz , of the 13 Hoppers to take the field so far eight have scored at least 98 points led by Lachie Neale with 156. The Wombats have been forced to munch on a donut not so appropriately named Swallow (D) and are 646/10, trailing the Grasshoppers 1,103/13 - so we can lock it in that the Grasshoppers will finish fourth and host a final. Cradle Mountain are 570/6 whilst Nunawading are on 501 with four players to take the field so the Devils can be locked in for fifth with a club record 11 wins in a home and away season. Amazingly two of the top four teams at the end of the 2017 home and away season both finished in the bottom five in 2016 with the Grasshoppers making a gigantic hop to jump from 14th to four, however the Misfits made an even bigger leap to improve from 17th to 3rd. In total four teams that finished outside the top 8 in 2016 will be participating in the 2017 finals with the Hoppers and Misfits being joined by the fifth placed Devils who will be playing in only the club's second final in their ORFFA history, and regular finalists Waikikamoocow who are engaged in a final round battle against Venus Bay for the minor premiership, the Cows finished in the top five in three consecutive seasons from 2013-2015 and were supposedly rebuilding in 2016 however given their quick bounce back in 2017 it looks like some extremely successful (and cost effective) renovating rather than a rebuild has taken place at the Cows.
Interesting stuff, thanks for pointing out those facts. Huge leap for the misfits! Massive final round taking place right now, with the 1st place playoff between Venus Bay and Waikikamoocow, and (can i say) former powerhouses Iron Knob and Foul Bay.
