Hopefully you will have found a ruckman in time for that R1 clash.

I'm not even gonna mention the name ofmy other Ruckfor fear of putting the moz on him :) Did manage to make it thro two NAB games without breaking down, thats gotta be an improvement

[span style='color: #ff0000; font-size: large;]NEWS FLASH!! [span style='font-size: 16px;]Draft coup nets future star forward for Lefties. With finals hopes fading, the Larrikin Lagoon recruitment team have pulled off the steal of the mid-season draft, by securing young Tom T Lynch. Although coaching staff remained tight-lipped about Lynch's potential for immediate impact, sources suggest that Lynch will become the centre piece of a resurrgent forward line. Lynch will line up along side the star-studded attack of Naitinui, Hale and Lewis to challenge the leagues' heavy weights over the coming weeks. With a lesser known, up and coming lad by the name of [span style='font-size: 16px; color: #ff0000;]Daniher monstering onto the scene, the mud-slingers from the Lagoon will be spoilt for choice. With all the attention on the forward injection, many might easily forget the sorry excuse for a backline that the Lefties have served up for the first half of the season. Supporters can breath a sigh of relief as yet another drafting master-stroke has welcomed in matured-aged Baguley and big improver D. Talia. These lads are certainly expected to slot straight into running defensive roles and complement Scotland and Golby. Youth has been key ingredient of this draft period for the Lefties, with the aquisition of Evans and Duryea set to bolster a soon-to-be-dazzling midfield. With a host of strong performances in the lead up to the break (1230 avg over last 4 games), the Lefties have recruited with nous. An ominous warning to the ORFFA elite has been signalled... This under dog is about to dig up the yard...and make one hell of a mess!

I look at the Lefties' line-up and still wonder how they didn't win more games in 2013. Lots of good young players at the Lagoon.

To avoid any confusion, preliminary trade discussions have taken place surrounding Nic Nat and Coniglio. Lefties hierachy are reasonably comfortable with the preliminary trade proposal negotiated. To be fair to all prospective suitors, I will remove the 'off the table' notation until such time that said trade has been posted and ratified (after Sept 10th)

With the end of season trip coming up this weekend, the Lefties have shut up shop on a highly contensious trade period. With the poaching of John 'Woosha' Worsfold into the mid field coaching role at the Lagoon, changes were inevitable. Boasting considerable knowledge on player strengths and injury susceptibilites, Woosha flagged the need to inject more legs into the midfield and cut loose those players with niggling/lingering injuries. The door has been shown to: N Naitanui S Coniglio D Nicholson as well as sacrificing pick #3 and #57in the PSD. The club welcomes up and coming stars in: B Cunnington R Thompson J Garlett C Pedersen and secures pick #30 in the PSD Remaining players have been put on notice that the coming pre season will be murder for those not up to the task. Delisting will be swift and uncompromising as the Lefties look to make good on unfulfilled dreams...

Best of luck to Messers Cunnington and Thompson in the years ahead. I shall keep an eye on both the former Blimps and wish them nothing but the best of form.

With the tears and blood-shed of the 2013 Trade-gate saga firmly behind them, the Larrikin Lagoon Footy Club is jumping for the start of the 2014 season.

Unfortunately, a spate of jumping related injuries has threatened to derail our season opener. In Wellingham-esque fashion, Oxley and Broomhead have come to grief in a tandem trampolining mishap, which will see them miss the first few rounds. These two boys head a growing list of concern:

    Lefties injury list

    Lynch – 4-6 weeks

    Broomhead – 2-3 weeks

    Oxley – 2-3 weeks

    Thompson – 2-3 weeks

    Smith – indefinite

    Schoenmakers – 1-2 weeks

    Grant – 2-3 weeks

    Suban – 1 week (suspension)

Spirits are still very high around the clubrooms, with young, new recruits in Cunnington, Cripps, Robertson, Currie, Schofield and Langford all firmly pushing their case for round one selection.

Chief-bet odds are on the money for the Lefties early rounds, but expect to see a very different side after the bye rounds.

    Unfulfilled dreams still on hold...

It's a risky sport trampoline popcorn, most of the time it looks amaize-ing until you come unstuck. Wish the boys the well in their recovery.

All the best for the coming season triple L's, love your work bloke.

    2014 Post season list assessment

    Sinking

Golby – Could be anything. Injury affected year. Rating 3

Suban – Shows up every week but very inconsistent. Rating 5

Currie – Cruelled by injury, will struggle to get foot back in the Brown Daw. Rating 2

Grant – Promised much, delivered nada. Rating 3

Monfries – Struggling to stay fit. Non-plussed Gus! Rating 4

    Swimming

Lewis – From work-horse to elite mid. Stellar. Rating 10

Priddis – Career best form. Stepped up a gear when Scooter fell over. Monster. Rating 10

Langford – First yr rookie smashing it out of the park. Rare gem at pick 64. Rating 8

Baguley – Stepped up his output and played every game bar one. Quality. Rating 8

Daniher – Missed a couple of games but reasonably solid performance. Needs to shake off his

    crustacean ways. Rating 7

Duryea – Strong, injury free year. Holding his own. Rating 7

Cunnington – Many expected him to jump up further. Still resting up fwd too regularly to push out

    big numbers. Rating 7

J Lloyd – Great performer after joining the club in the MSD. Rating 7

Robertson – Solid effort for first yr rookie. Still learning the craft. Rating 7

Broomhead – Finally cracked into the senior side after early injury. Looking the goods. Rating 7

Lumumba – Harry is just Harry. Solid. Rating 7

Mzungu – Mr. Consistent still keeping the I/C intact. Rating 6

S Lloyd – Only a handful of games since joining mid-year. Points per minute numbers right up

    there. Rating 6

    Treading water

Hale – Steady contributor at R2 but no longer a rucking power house. Rating 5

Schoenmakers – Pass mark on return from extended lay off. Flexibility has makings of dpp status.

    Rating 6

Wright – Pulling the same 3 card trick as last yr. Goes gang-busters near season end to pull the

    wool over. Rating 4

Thompson – Slow start returning from injury. Reasonable output but down on last yr. Rating 5

Cripps – Only 2 games from the kid. Leg fracture kept him from his best. Finishing well in the 2s.

    Rating 4

Selwood – Playing injured from the get-go. Sorely missed in the guts. Rating 5

Lynch – Guys owns too many black cats. Get a dog, Tom! Rating 5

Smith – Whatever they are feeding the ruckmen up north...it’s no good. Rating 6

Conca – Strong start but lost his way post-bye. Over-taken by Miles and Ellis in the blink of an

    eye. Rating 6

Schofield – Finishing strongly. Has been Mr. Fix-it for the Lefties this season. Rating 6

Thanks for the vote of confidence Chris. No denying my mob needs to turn the corner and deliver some consistency across all lines.

The blood-letting continues at the Lagoon with the club producing the biggest list turn-over to date. Although many a fine wine has been fondly shared with Len and sNoZ down in the cellar, The Lefties have signalled their intent to move at least one or two positions up the ladder. During the off-season trade and draft periods, the club has welcomed a bevy of experience across all lines. Defence is bolstered with the signing of Rhyce Shaw, Josh Gibson and Michael Firrito, who will form the nucleus of our backline with support from Baguley and Lumumba. Sam Mitchell arrives to provide vital mid/interchange back up as well as helping to mould his kin-folk midfielders in Langford and new recruit Woodward. Prize recruit Todd Goldstein lands at the swamp with a huge splash and instantly handcuffs himself to Dan Currie forming a solid insurance policy. Jon Ceglar steps seamlessly into the void left by David Hale and will push strongly for an interchange spot. Up forward, the arrival of BJ injects some much needed confidence and desire among the mass of KPFs on the roster. Crameri and Taberner join our burgeoning list of talls, all of which are on track to put injury and form concerns behind them and light up our previously weakest link. The club is under no illusions of immediate premiership glory, but we have spent up big on a hefty crowbar with a view to prying open that window (albeit just a tad).

Lefties' Mid-season sound bite With all the patience of a Sanderson-era Crows Board, the Lefties' hierarchy have shown the door to Ben 'Century Fox' Cunnington after 18 short months at the club. A gimp-like creature who claimed to be important at the club said, 'Yeah, Benny has been ok but we heard a rumour that he once favourited a tweet from Karmichael Hunt andthe alarm bells went off like crazy. I reckon we'll probably miss him, but only cos he's funny to look at and Joe Daniher's mo' just isn't as laughable as it used to be.' Joey Montagna joins our list in a futile attempt to make the rest of our midfield appear young. With any luck, he will pick up the odd possession or two and help us eke out some narrow wins and finish the season on a high. From the MSD rubble, we have rescued Josh Hill, Zac O'Brien and Jake Kelly and given them a warm blanket and a good book and told them to wait in the sun room (nowhere near the Gold Coast). Hopefully they will be of some usefor our finals tilt in 2020. The club has urged supporters to stay positive and has boldly reassured fans that its new recruiting team of Matt Rendell, Craig Cameron, Barry Prendergast and a six-limbed octopus named Maurice, have got this in hand.
