Whilst we celebrate his win, we have confidence he will have more competition next year as our young squad develops..
2014 Marble Bar Season Wrap. We were crap, not unexpectedly, but this is the last year it's excusable. The primary issue faced all year was inconsistency in availability of players and the scores they pumped out when named. This is almost entirely due to the age profile and the concentration of players in the GWS Giants, who had another developing year. Marble Bar's squad is the youngest in the league by a full year, taking out Bock, who didn't play all year, and Sewell who managed 7 games and it's a 2 year gap to the next team. As frustration grew within the coaches box through the year a strong focus was placed on breaking up the Giant domination of the list, however any ORFFA squad that was holding 10 of the Cats, Hawks, Swans etc best players would be dominating the FA, and within 18 months the Giants players will be at that level. It has therefore been decided that unless genuine offers that provide similar or greater potential are made for those players they will remain Misfits. Similarly Luke Dunstan, Josh Bruce and Jack Steven of the Saints are very unlikely to be moved on. it is unlikely the Misfits will be overly active in the initial post season trade period, positional changes are likely to have considerable impact on us for 2015 and that information will be crucial to ensuring squad balance. Currently the Misfits have no 1st round draft pick, and unless successful trading changes that we will be focused on finding value and squad balance further down the draft, we expect to draft 6 players. Our worst move in the last 12 months was to trade Toby Greene for Tom Bellchambers, BC having been unable to hold is place in a squad full of drug cheats and with a lack of forwards. As a result of this trade due diligence training has been undertaken. The squads 2014 performance by line will be dissected in the next week or so, should be riveting reading. <div>
Looking forward to the line by line breakdown Len. Hey, do you mind posting the ave age of each current squad. Doesn't have to be in here. Start a new thread if you want.
Hey Len - just wondering - I'm suffering through the inability to access private messages here on the site ... did yours get fixed (if so, how) or is this an ongoing thing?

Yep, Les fixed it for me about 3 times, last one seems to have worked, but as soon as he fixed it this time I archived the 700 odd messages I had.. His email link is at the bottom of the home page
The Misfits are not expecting to be very active in the post season trade period, we will be welcoming offers when the trade window opens but will be really only tempted by very juicy offers until the new year when the SC positions and AFL teams players will be utilised in are known. Very willing to swap BC back for Toby though
Marble Bar Management regretfully confirm that their star forward Jeremy Cameron has been traded to the Geriwerd Cockatoos in return for picks 5 and 32 in the upcoming national draft. There has been rioting and tar pots have been seen over hot coals, it's fair to say the peasants are revolting. Razor wire has been erected around the managers house and he is working from home until the crisis blows over.. Management have responded by taking over (borrowing was the term used) the local tv and radio stations and are pleading for calm and patience. Updates may or may not follow, some idiot security consultant from Sydney sent water canons for us to use to quell the rioters but neglected to send water, fortunately local wiser heads have ordered a semi trailer filled with our sponsor's product, Old #7, fingers are crossed it arrives in time.

The Misfits are currently interviewing a mascot candidate, he isn't perfect but he is available.. /Portals/0/Users/017/57/3857/orange_char.jpg He has some chance of being selected based on the quality of his MAG alone.. /Portals/0/Users/017/57/3857/Orange-MampM-Costume-4047-2.jpg Ah the offseason, it's when the fun happens
The Mascot hunt continues, in the meantime there have been some personnel changes at the Misfits.. We have said goodbye to 3 genuine stars; Jeremy Cameron left us in return for draft picks 5 and 32 Curtly Hampton left us for Daniel Rich and Rory Laird, an exchange of picks also saw us hand over pick 39 and receive pick 65 Jack Steven left us for Will Hoskin-Elliot and Jackson Merrett, an exchange of picks saw us hand over picks 5 & 21 in return for picks 3 and 50 Nathan Bock has also retired This leaves us with 28 players, we currently plan to exercise 5 picks in the 2015 Pre season draft and hold picks 3, 32, 45, 50, 65 and 75. Ironically only picks 3 and 75 are original Misfit selections, and pick 3 has been traded out, and back in. 5 players below will have to leave through trades for picks, or delisting. We are expecting significant impact from changes to positional status in the off season, but as it stands our lines look like this; Backs: Rory Laird, Jack Hombsch, Elliot Yeo, Maverick WELLER, Dean Terlich, Josh Bruce,Sam Day. (Tom Young has been notunexpectedlydelisted by the dogs and will be a likely delist) Midsevon Smith (F), Cameron Shenton (F), Callan Ward, Will Hoskin-Elliot, Lachie Whitfield, Brad Sewell, Luke Dunstan, Danny Stanley, Josh Kelly, Zachary Williams, Daniel Rich, Matthew Arnot, Jake Barrett, Trent Dumont Fwds: Sam Day (B), Adam Tomlinson, Jackson Merrett, Marco Paparone, Kristian Jaksch, Devon Smith (M), Cameron Shenton (M), Tom Bellchambers (R) Ruck: Paddy Ryder, Tom Bellchambers (F) In the new year we believe picks for trades in the PSD or MSD will be preferred as a means to assist in trimming the list to the required number for the draft whilst adding value to the squad.
Busy off season Len - but you've picked up some good young players and given yourself plenty of options in the upcoming draft.

Thanks Chris, I think the list was heading too far in one direction, and some big change was required. Those 3 trades plus the one for Yeo and Weller in the MSD should see us do a lot better in 15, I may need some urgent ruck cover for obvious reasons, but the last trade with Fitzy will strengthen my fwds a lot with WHE almost certain to get MF next year. Players for picks will be the mantra, unless I do need a ruck.
Open to trading at the edges of this list only, guys that are likely to be tradeable once the trade period opens and I've had a good look at the Prospectus are Terlich (B), Bruce (B) & Stanley (MF) only. Arnot and Dumont are also up for trade, tbh I don't think Arnot has it in him, Dumont is a shame because he has plenty of talent but I spent a couple of years in the cab industry 30 years ago and he is now not able to be retained on the Misfit's list. The one thing I have identified is that currently I have 2 players I'd like to draft in the first round and they will both be there past 3, but neither at my next pick at 32. So I will be open to trading pick 3 for deal that returns me two later first round picks.

I'd probably need more than picks 3 and 32 for them, but, well ... we should chat when things kick off.
The Misfits regret to inform that our front, back and side offices will be closed until the 5th March. During this time in the magical land of Incommunicable the entire club management and staff will be attending a pre-season camp in a suite on the Carnival Legend, much bonding to be done.
