Taken with our 6th selection in the inaugural draft he was injured in his first game as a Misfit and never played again for us. Great thinking. What a career he had for you! Bock played in a loss, only fitting we lose somewhat honourably in his honour.. . Round 7 & vs the Opening. Despite genuinely awful performances from our expected stars the Misfits posted a 1130 score in losing.. Those potentially having B&F points deducted include; Williams 26 Jaksch 38 Smith 53 Dunstan 61 Whitfield 64 Ryder 65 The rest of boys did well to overcome the coaches call to bench Stanley and WHE this week. Yeo was very impressive this round! I must admit that I thought you traded too much for him, but he must be exceeding expectations already.
TerryinBangkok wrote: Yeo, Laird and Homebush. Impressive little backline in the making there. Just needs a B.......... Definitely 2 good ones short, when I am reliant on Jaksch or Shenton for D4 I am in a hole... anthak wrote: Yeo was very impressive this round! Possibly seemed it at the time, but it was effectively pick 3 for Yeo & Weller, looked awful when he missed half of last year but coming back to balance now. Unfortunately I have a very patchy trade record, have given up some very good players and on reflection not got much back, win some too, I do genuinely try to break-even on every trade so I guess it's not surprising the coin lands both ways.
Laird has been the one that has surprised me Len. Thought he had some potential but it seems the massive retirement/injury of virtually all of Adelaide's backline in the past 12-18 months has seen him given the opportunities to take it to another level. Real good reward for trade/perseverance.

Fresh start with a new coach has helped him a lot I think. I thought he'd had his card marked by Sando to some degree as he seemed quick to drop him at times, imo at least. But then a new coach arrives - one who loves tough, contested style players - and he gets a fresh start a new opportunity. If I'd have known Sando was gone, I wouldn't have traded him tbh. And Sando got sacked the day after that trade. Timing is everything, as they say.
I liked the steak knives quip, and I got the jist of it, but I couldn't remember the whole trade. What was the main part of that trade? Rory Laird has always shown a heap of promise. He's got a very bright future! And it looks like that future is pretty much already here now.

The real trade was Rich for Hampton, the rest was 'evening', at the moment the Misfit's are up, but longer term Hampton will be one of the great half backs so expect that bit to even out..

Generally a poor performance from the entire squad, total score of 1129 saw us go down by 210 Looks like your expected standards have increased Len. and imo rightly so. Your team is progressing quite well. Cheers mate, tbh I wasn't expecting 20% improvement, but after the first 2 weeks our Bar was raised Took a while, but I saw what you did there.
